Having everything you want

I will divide "Pangea" ("the land of everything", i.e. basically an infinite land where everything happens somewhere in it) into three "regions":

In Panchronia (a virtual reality where everyone has everything they want), there are no other people, so the problem of conflicting desires does not arise. However, in Achronia and even Demichronia, conflicting desires can indeed arise (though IMHO Demichronia handles them far better than Achronia does). Here is a tentative list of possible methods of resolution of conflicting desires (note, it's not that I advocate for these, it's just a list of approaches that can be used):

1: The strongest dominates the weak. Approach often used in Achronia. For example, a government does not want people to say a certain thing, or to use drugs, or be homosexual, or to practice a certain religion. A certain person does want to do some or even all of those things. The desires conflict. The solution is that the government (who is stronger than an individual, or even a group of individuals) uses violence, abuse and fear to get what the government wants. The government gets what they want and the civilian does not. It's common that stronger individuals or groups get what they want by dominating the weaker.
2: Lack of interaction. Approach often promoted by Libertarianism and similar ideologies. If the nature of two conflicting desires is such that one of them involves lack of interaction, then that one is chosen. For instance, let's say a guy wants to have sex with a girl, and the girl does not want to have sex with him, the option chosen is the one that involves a lack of interaction, so in this case the girl gets what she wants.
3: Turn-based. Reciprocity-based time-variable choice. E.g. "today we'll do things the way you want, but tomorrow I'll decide", or perhaps the same but replace "today" with "this morning" and "tomorrow" with "this evening". May resemble a very rudimentary form of Demichronia, though one not necessarily based on "roles" (note: actual Demichronia is impossible with just two individuals, you need at least, I guess a few thousand people? Maybe more? Idk but definitely not just two).
4: Utilitarian choice. If at least one person will have to be "unsatisfied" (in the sense that his/her desire will not be fulfilled), then the choice is whatever causes less psychological unpleasantness to the "unsatisfied" person.
5: King for a Day (yes, it's a Pierce the Veil reference, lol): every day, a person randomly gets extracted, and for a day, everything should go the way that person wants (as long as it's physically realistic, of course, lol). Everyone has the chance to become the ruler for a day. This is extremely dangerous, however, because if an extremely misanthropic person gets extracted, that person may ask everyone to kill themselves, and the entire city dies.
5.1: King for a Day with-some-exceptions(TM): same as above but with some exceptions regarding violence, abuse, extreme humiliation etc. but most desires are fulfilled for that person.
6: Full-scope slavery: there is one or a few people whose job is to fulfill all desires of their "masters" (customers?).
7: Full-scope slavery for every worker (Isomorphic Demichronia): every worker, in their work time, must fulfill the wishes of their customers, even if the wish is unrelated to one's job, e.g. if someone asks a plumber for a passionate kiss on the lips, the plumber must do that.
8: Partial-scope slavery for every worker (a.k.a. what is known in the modern world as "work"): this is the system that I called "Sandboxed Demichronia", or just "Demichronia" for short. Every worker has their own role, e.g. a plumber only does plumber-related tasks in their work time, so if a customer asks the plumber for a passionate kiss on the lips, the plumber doesn't have to do that, because that falls outside of the role of the plumber. However, for every wish, there must be at least one worker whose job is to fulfill that type of wish, so if someone wants a passionate kiss on the lips, there is a worker (e.g. a professional partner) whose job is to offer that kind of experience.
9: "Wishful thinking voluntary Demichronia" (I suck at giving names, lol): basically, for every wish, one (through wishful thinking) believes that there almost certainly is someone out there (e.g. in the same city, or in an area otherwise accessible) who can fulfill that wish. There are two subcategories, "wishful thinking accessible voluntary Demichronia" and "wishful thinking non-accessible voluntary Demichronia". The difference is that in the former category, people who are willing to fulfill a certain wish exist and can be easily found (through some method or another), whereas the latter says that people who are willing to fulfill a certain wish exist but cannot be easily found, as there are no mechanisms that can easily let people meet with each other based on their interests and wishes.

Demichronia

Note: as for vegetarianism, every information about Demichronia regarding that is undefined. What is certain is that v-meat (plant-based food that recreates the taste of meat) exists and is available. Regarding actual meat, its legality and availability is undefined. I've been trying to figure out the logic behind applying Demichronian values to animals, and as you may expect, this topic is very complicated - the main (but not only) reason being the existence of predators and the uncertainty regarding the possibility of solving the problem of predation (I swear the world we live in seems to have been designed by a sadist!) - so until I've figured things out, I'd rather not give answers related to the topic of animal rights in Demichronia, including the legality and availability of animal meat intended for human consumption. If you read anything in this page that contradicts this paragraph, that means I've forgot to edit it, and this paragraph takes the priority. The only information that is available for now is: torturing, raping, abusing (e.g. electric collars) animals is illegal in Demichronia. As for whether or not meat is allowed (according to Demichronian values, which get ambiguous when applied to animals)... I'm trying to figure it out.

Demichronia (better explained): everyone has "everything" (more or less, I'll explain better below) they want during their free time, but during the work time they have to work and please the customers (a customer is someone during their free time). It's not that a worker must do everything a customer says, but rather, each worker has their own role, and for (almost) every wish, there's at least one worker who fulfills that wish. Here's how to visualize free time in Demichronia: during one's free time, everyone has (approximately) everything they want, except for two main situations: 1: if the desire is so expensive that they either cannot afford it, or that they can afford it but they choose not to spend the money on it. 2: if the desire is physically and/or technologically unrealistic. As for one's work time, the question may arise: must one do everything that a customer tells them to do? No, that would be slavery. Workers have a specific role, and that's what they must do in their work time. This question is better explained through this concept: Delta.

Delta: basically, the Delta is the difference in terms of actions, experiences etc. that one person goes either day after day, or week after week at work. It can be divided into two main subcategories: Daily Delta (the difference in one's work time day after day) and Weekly Delta (the difference in one's work time week after week). Demichronia, as a system, has the goal to minimize everyone's Delta, as much as possible. The reason is to avoid what this philosophy calls asynchronicity, which is basically when something that you do in your free time has consequences on your work time. There are two main types of asynchronicities: asynchronous punishments and asynchronous rewards. Asynchronous punishments are when something you do in your free time has negative consequences in your work time, whereas asynchronous rewards are when something you do in your free time has positive consequences in your work time. Your free time isn't really free if something that you do in your free time has consequences in your work time. By minimizing the Delta, this system tries to make every day (or week) at work as similar as possible to each other, to prevent asynchronicities. An example of how this is made is through sandboxing the roles of the workers: a plumber must only do things related to plumbing (fixing pipes in someone's house), a customer cannot pay a plumber to kiss them on the mouth, for example. However, for (almost) every wish, there must be at least one worker who can fulfill that wish. That means, if you want someone to kiss you, you can pay for a professional partner who roleplays a romantic time with you. Of course, you cannot ask that person to fix the pipes in your house. The professional partner only works as a professional partner. Moreover, to minimize the Delta, each professional partner may have a range of "services offered", in order to avoid the experiences of that worker to be too different day after day. So, each professional partner offers different experiences! And of course, if you just want to be kissed on your mouth without any surrounding "plot" behind it, you can pay for that, too! The Delta must be minimized as much as possible, and this was true even in ancient societies! Of course, back then the Delta was higher, but the attempt of minimizing it existed even back then. Anyway, even though, as I said in the note, animal rights are still undefined in Demichronia, there are vegetarian or vegan meat alternatives (which I'll call "v-meat" or "v-[animal] (e.g. "v-chicken") from now on, keep this in mind) that taste pretty much the same as actual meat, and fictional content depicting beastiality (e.g. animations, stories, videogames etc.) is legal, so if an animal does not get hurt, wishes that simulate animal abuse without actually causing it (e.g. eating v-meat, fictional content depicting beastiality) are legal and available to be fulfilled. V-meat is available to eat and purchase, including equivalents of dog meat, cat meat, snakes, bugs, scorpions, crocodiles etc.

Human labor is required to keep a physical, shared, non-post-scarce society going, but post-scarcity may be achieved in the future (both in Gaia and Demichronia) due to Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), which makes work unnecessary. Coupled with generative artificial intelligence that can give you everything you want in a virtual reality, Gaia has the potential to become a part of Panchronia in the not-so-distant future. Also, you may be wondering: why does abundance in Demichronia and Gaia increases as time passes by? Well, it's for two main reasons: increasing population density and automation. With an increased population density, the number of people in a certain area increases, and therefore the jobs can be better distributed and become more specialized, decreasing the Delta. With automation, each wish needs less people to be fulfilled. For instance, in nomadic times and early Bronze Age, the vast majority of people needed to work directly on food production in order to have the bare minimum amount of food to survive. However, in 2025, the amount of technology has caused a high level of automation, which means producing the same amount of food requires many less workers. As automation increases, the people who are no longer required to perform that job can do something else, and therefore more wishes can be fulfilled with the same amount of people (and what's more, due to the increased population density, it's not even the same amount of people, it's more than before!). Another example of automation is the production of books: before the printing press, copying books required a lot more work, and you needed many scribes. After the printing press, books could be spread much faster, with the same amount of people as before! With ASI in the future, it can be speculated that nobody will need to work at all. This is speculative for now, but, uh, I guess we'll find out for ourselves in our lifetimes, sooner than we think! (The future we were promised shines so bright, it's out of reach but within sight~)

Demichronia requires a certain number of people to function: with just two people, the Delta of each of the two people is full, and the asynchronicity is extreme. This means there's no truly free time, as there may be (and likely will be) asynchronous punishments. On the other hand, with very low Delta, the vast majority of the wishes of those two people will remain unfulfilled. Both scenarios are, by definition, not Demichronic! With a higher number of people, roles can be distributed across more people, reducing the Delta for each worker. It's better, therefore, that Demichronic settlements have a certain number of people (I don't know what the minimum number is, but most definitely more than 2, lol, but I suspect even a small town of 10,000 people would be more than sufficient for a Demichronic society), and preferably with at least a relatively high density (one that is perfectly realistic even in Gaia, it doesn't need to have some sort of futuristic technology), so that services can be available in a shorter distance! Automation reduces the Delta even more! In the future, as mentioned before, it's possible that human work will not be necessary at all, but that would be Panchronia by then! I think a certain number of people is needed but at some point it will probably have some diminishing returns: human desires, or concepts, are not infinite. Just like concepts expressed by language (e.g. words, morphemes), there's only a certain number of them, and the rest, no matter how oddly specific it is, is simply the result of combining two or more of those simpler concepts to make a new one. This is more evident in agglutinative or polysynthetic languages. It's a modular understanding of desires. You clearly don't need an infinite amount of people to create a Demichronic society. Anyway, the "rule" of a Demichronic society is that people can have what they want in their free time, combined with a very low Delta (variation from day to day) in their work time. That's pretty much literally it. It requires distributing the roles of each worker in such a way that, when considered as a whole, "workers" (as a group, not individually) can fulfill every desire.

There's also another variable other than the delta: alpha. Alpha refers to the range of wishes that "the-workers" (understood as a Gestalt-like collective entity) can fulfill. Delta refers to the broadness of the scope and variability of the work day after day (basically, maximizes specialization). Demichronia tries to maximize the alpha and minimize the delta. The ratio between alpha and delta is what I call "Demichronic Coefficient". The higher it is, the closer a society resembles Demichronia.

Probably a good way to visualize Demichronia would be this: think about a part-time slave, that is, someone who, for a certain amount of hours a day (maybe around 6 to 8) has to obey to your every wish, with few basic exceptions (e.g. that slave won't obey if you tell them "kill yourself" or some violent stuff, except if that violent stuff is against yourself, of course). That's not Demichronia, of course, just a part-time slave. Now, imagine that person gets divided into 100,000, or another number, depending on the working population of the city, and each of those people has a role, in such a way that for each wish that the part-time slave that we imagined before could fulfill, there is at least one person among those 100,000 (or among another number, that will vary depending on the city) that can fulfill that wish (in exchange of money, of course). Clearly, the more people, the more specific the role (and therefore lower the delta) of each worker will be. Of course, when taken as a collective, "workers" will always have pretty much full scope, with the usual basic exceptions. That's what Demichronia is like either as a tourist or as an inhabitant during their free time. During one's work time, one is required to perform a specific task (the same every time, it doesn't change), and one gets paid for that.

Another good way to visualize Demichronia is this: the experience in Demichronia during your free time is somewhat similar to Panchronia, that is, you approximately have everything you want - with some obvious limitations, since Demichronia is a real, physical reality instead of a virtual one, and since there is scarcity, things cost money - but the people you interact with are not philosophical zombies: they have consciousness, they are real people, and their job is to fulfill the type of wish you have expressed. Those people you met did more or less the same thing yesterday, and will do more or less the same thing tomorrow (assuming those are their work days). In your work time, it's you who work, and do more or less the same thing 5 days a week. That's pretty much it. Of course, you can also interact with non-workers during your free time, but those interactions are less frequent. Still, if you live in Demichronia and have friends there, you can interact with them. If you don't have friends in Demichronia, you can still interact with people in your free time, it's just that those people are workers, specifically those whose job is "professional friend". Note that "professional friend" is pretty vague, and different professional friends will perform different types of companionship. If you want to play videogames, those may be different from those you can play basketball with, or from those who comfort you in a time of difficulty. Each professional friend is better at some thing than others, and that's likely the type of companionship they offer. Of course, a professional friend can offer more than just one type of companionship, e.g. one may offer videogames + comfort from sadness, but of course that's not guaranteed, and it depends on what they're good at. Different people are good at providing different types of company, and that's true even among "regular" friendships. However, for each type of company you want, there is at least one professional friend whose job is to provide it. Like in Gaia, in Demichronia there's no guarantee of having non-professional friends, but having professional friends (perhaps "companions" is a better word, since what they offer is company) is guaranteed if you pay.

The main reason for minimizing the Delta (the variation of work for a specific individual), as I explained before, is to minimizing the possibilities of asynchronicities. For instance, if one in their free time expresses an opinion someone doesn't like, it shouldn't be allowed that the person expressing that opinion will be subject to unpleasant consequences during their work time in the next day. If the Delta was not minimized, there could be a loophole where there would be asynchronicities, and free time would not really be free. Let's indicate an average work day for a specific individual as "W", the most pleasant/light work day allowed for that person as "W+" and the most unpleasant/exhausting work day allowed for that person as "W-". Assuming that a customer can make a request that would make the day (or part of it) of a worker as "W-" in response to something the worker said in their free time which the customer didn't like, that would be an asynchronous punishment, and it would go against the Demichronic axiom, because it would deter people from doing/experiencing what they want in their free time, because the thought "if I do F (a certain action in one's free time), then tomorrow at work W- (an unpleasant consequence) will happen" may be installed in one's mind through inductivistic reasoning if the consequence has a regular enough frequency. That would deter someone from doing F (a certain action/experience) in their free time because of the negative consequences it would bring the day after at work. The same reasoning works with rewards too, of course. Therefore, the variability allowed at work in Demichronia must be as low as possible. Of course, it's not like each day is a copy of each other. There is some variability but it's kept as low as pragmatically possible, to avoid asynchronicities. For instance, a mangaka (manga artist) won't work on the same scene every day, there is variability, but the variability is kept in the context of working on mangas. The mangaka may work on different scenes of a manga, on different mangas as well, but the mangaka cannot be requested to kiss a customer or to fix pipes in one's house, as that is not the job of the mangaka. So, the low delta doesn't mean that each day is literally identical, just that each day is similar, or at least similar enough to avoid asynchronicites.

As for discrimination, it's allowed in certain cases but not allowed on others. Here's a list:

Thoughts on the nature of work, and what Demichronia does

Throughout the years, I've explored many ideologies, trying to find "the best (though not necessarily "ideal") society". At some point, many years ago, I identified as a Marxist (the first ideology I was truly obsessed with), and I believed that was the best system for humankind to live in. However, as a deep thinker, and as someone who makes a lot of thought experiments and scenarios to understand things, eventually I realized Marxism was in fact a terrible system, for several reasons. After I got disillusioned, I thought "ok, Marxism sucks... so what is the best system for humankind to live in, then?". Around 2018/2019 I started exploring Libertarianism, and at first, I was obsessed with it. I thought I had finally found the best system for humankind to live in. However, after creating a lot thought experiments and scenarios regarding Libertarianism, I figured out that while there's no direct coercion in Libertarianism, due to the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP), there's plenty of indirect coercion, which can take many forms, some of which are extremely severe. Plus, due to freedom of association, after a society reaches a certain level of complexity, there will be plenty of discrimination (which can take many forms, including racism), indirect coercion (i.e. "do this or otherwise we (a quasi-monopoly that owns most things that you'll need in your life) won't offer you service (making your life pretty much impossible"), ostracism etc. I got disillusioned with Libertarianism around 2020, though it was a relatively gradual process, as there were phases where I thought "ok, it sucks... but what's the alternative?". By 2021, I completely abandoned the idea of Libertarianism, and I went through a phase of exploration, where I explored or even created as many ideologies as possible to see which one was the best (and this habit evolved into the philosophy part of this website, where I list as many ideas as possible, I've figured out that's a good approach to have to ideas). I had created literally dozens of them, or more. They're too many to list, but one of them, which I called "Space" (it was literally set on other planets!), included "tolerance/acceptance" as a virtue. Tolerance included tolerance towards racism, "homophobia" and such, but for some reason, less than 1% of the population was racist etc. Not because it was suppressed or frowned upon, but simply because it felt unnatural, the same it'd feel unnatural for a Gaian to be "tomatophobic" (hating people who eat tomatoes). "Space" was still a proportion-dependent society, however, and if for some reason racists and the like surpassed a certain percentage, it would had influenced society negatively. After some scenarios, I understood it was a society in a very fragile equilibrium, and that it was extremely unrealistic. Plus, it's unclear if certain things ought to be tolerated. It's one thing to tolerate people who have racist, anti-homosexual etc. opinions but who don't do anything about that. Like, you may disagree with them, but unless they actually harm anyone, it's not that hard to tolerate them, even if their views are antithetical to yours. On the other hand, what about people who punch random strangers for no reason? What about people who cause acoustic pollution (e.g. playing an electric guitar super loudly) in a dense neighbourhood in the middle of the night while everyone else is trying to sleep? Should that be tolerated as well? It soon became clear to me that "tolerance" was not a very meaningful or useful concept, so I kept exploring other ideas. There was one in 2019 that I called "Wishik", where basically, before the age of 15, no matter where you lived, you would be protected from extreme ideologies by international standards, and at the age of 15 you chose a town where you wanted to live. The world was divided into millions of towns, each one with a different characteristic: some were Buddhist, some were fascists, some were nudists, some were pro-LGBT, some were anti-LGBT etc. basically, for any ideology you could think of, there was a town based on it, and you decided where to go. I also made a lot of thought experiments about that one and while I liked the idea of choosing where to live, there were still certain things I didn't like, though they were subtle and would be long to explain. There was also one, also in 2019 but that I kept exploring over the following years, that was basically Panchronia (though I didn't call it that way, I didn't give it a name until 2025): a virtual reality where everyone had everything they wanted, though it was a solipsistic reality, you were the only conscious entity in it. For a period of time I was fascinated by the idea, and I also coincidentally had learned that Robert Nozick had already thought about it, "The Experience Machine", though it was a thought experiment to argue against hedonism, not in favor of it. And it was a coincidence that idea was already explored, since I developed that idea independently. There were also many (like, easily over 30, I'm not exaggerating!) other ideologies that I had explored, but it'd be way too long to list all of them.

Then, in the last few years but most strongly in 2025, something clicked, like an "Eureka" moment. The inevitability of work. Think about it: what is the constant of all human societies? What do they all have in common? It became clear to me that the answer was: work. Soul-crushing, exploitative, physically and mentally exhausting, stressful, it sucks your life away day after day. Has any society managed to fix that? No. Can it be fixed in the future? Maybe with robots and AI, and even then, the side effects may be unpleasant. So, it became clear to me that work is a constant throughout all human societies, and it's always exploitative, and generally unpleasant. A human society cannot exist without work. The house you (hopefully) live in, the device you're reading this with, the streets, medical services, restaurants etc. all exist because of someone's work. There is no human society that exists without work, and in all human societies, work is exploitative, unpleasant, and has dark characteristics no matter how much some people want to deny it. And so I thought, if work was the constant in all human societies (including Demichronia, which is fictional but retains this characteristic), then what is the variable, the thing that changes across different societies?

Free time. And this is where Demichronia comes in. It had occurred to me that work is pretty much the same everywhere, but free time varies considerably from society to society. And what's interesting is that the quality of work time and free time is not a zero sum. Rather, work mostly remains the same no matter what, it's free time that can change dramatically. For instance, consider that in Islamic countries, like Saudi Arabia, you're not allowed to drink alcohol, or to have homosexual relationships, or to watch a lot of types of media, since a very large proportion gets labelled as "blasphemous", "inappropriate", "sexual" or whatever. There's plenty of things you cannot do in your free time in an Islamic country, and the same reasoning goes for, say, North Korea or China. Now, think about the work in an Islamic country or China or any other super restrictive country. Is it any less stressful or any less exploitative than in a more "free" country? No. What is the use of such restrictions, then? By definition, it worsens the quality of free time, without improving the quality of work time. It's nonsense. On the other hand, the nature of work in "free" countries is only marginally better, and still has dark characteristics hidden behind a facade of hypocrisy. It's clear to me, then, that work is a hopeless, unsolvable problem of humankind (at least until robots arrive). Trying to make it better is an uphill battle that seems to go almost nowhere. I'm aware work can vary somewhat too, it was worse in the past, and in some countries, but overall its nature, even today, is darker and more exploitative than most people would like to admit, and I don't believe it's fixable (before robots). So, I believe the true potential for improvement lies not in the context of work, but in the context of free time. Demichronia is not supposed to be some sort of utopia: work remains as dark, exploitative and unpleasant as it is in Gaia (the real world), it's free time that Demichronia tries to optimize, by approximating a situation of "everyone has everything they want in their free time". I've named Demichronia to mean something along the lines of "half of the time". Which means, the "good" part is the free time, and it would be hypocritical to claim that Demichronia is good "as a whole". Work in Demichronia retains the dark (even unacceptable) characteristics of work in Gaia, but focuses on optimizing wish fulfillment in free time. The purpose of the "Delta" (low variability) is not to make work "less stressful", or "less exploitative", or anything of the sorts, but rather, if a worker had to do everything (or even a high variety of things) a customer asked, it had the potential for "asynchronous punishment", that is, someone who gets treated badly at work for something they did in their free time. The problem is not that it's merely unpleasant, as work is as unpleasant in Demichronia as it is in Gaia, but rather, if asynchronous punishments are allowed, then one is not truly free in their free time, because one would avoid doing things that would lead to negative consequences the day after at work. And that would undermine the very concept of "Demichronia" ("half of the time"). It wouldn't be "Demichronia" if asynchronous punishments happened. The solution to that is to make work days very similar to each other, so that whatever you do in your free time won't have consequences in your work time. Of course, they shouldn't be identical either: a comic book artist shouldn't work on the same scene over and over again every day: the scenes will be different, the comics will be different, but every day at work, the comic book artist works on comic books, it's not like a customer can ask pay them for a kiss on the lips. And a "professional kisser" cannot be paid to create a comic book either. So the delta means low variability... not "identical", but low enough to prevent asynchronous punishments. Work in Demichronia may as well be very unpleasant, exploitative, soul-crushing etc. just like in Gaia, the purpose of the low variation is simply to let free time be truly free. So, this is what Demichronia is about, I hope the concept is clear. I find it to be a very interesting concept, and I want to explore it deeply.

Geography and climate

Geography: Demichronia is part of "Dark Gaia", a hidden part of Gaia (Earth) accessible by travelling to (or flying over) Nemo Point, the point farthest from any land. Nemo Point is a portal that connects Gaia to Dark Gaia and vice-versa. Other than Demichronia, Dark Gaia also contains the continents of Centralia, Aurora, Borea and Sudhurland. I'll give a brief explanation of the cultures of these continents, but not in-depth, because this page is not about them: Centralia is a country based on Libertarianism, an ideology that promotes the NAP (Non-Aggression Principle) and basically states that every interaction should be consensual. However, as I've found out years ago, the dark side of Libertarianism is that there is immense potential for indirect coercion, creating a situation where few, extremely powerful corporations are de-facto quasi-governments. Aurora has a very hedonistic culture, but in a vague way, without adhering to a specific economic system. It's less about fulfilling desires and more about promoting a specific and superficial idea of pleasures, that revolve on stereotypical ideas of drugs and sex and cannot be decided by the individual. People are so lazy there that they don't care about reading books, they call that "lame", whereas in Demichronia desires vary depending on the individual but they're always available to be fulfilled, including if you want to read books. Aurora's society is similar to Brave New World in some ways. In Aurora, when people are stressed they usually take a special drug that relieves them from stress, similar to soma in Brave New World. Sudhurland is a totalitarian, repressive, patriarchal society where most people live in poverty, and extreme punishments like crucifixion and torture are common even for small crimes. People are encouraged to seek poverty and suffering, because in Sudhurland there's a mentality of "suffering makes you strong and gives meaning to your life". Pleasures are mostly forbidden. Sudhurland is almost exclusively a hot desert climate, with some small pockets of semi-arid climates in some inland mountainous areas, and is situated to the south-east of Demichronia. Borea is situated to the north of Demichronia and is exclusively a polar ice-cap climate, similar to Antarctica. Its area surrounds the North Pole down to around 70 °N of latitude, meaning it's a circular continent centered around the North Pole. It's very similar to Antarctica in many ways. There are human settlements in Borea but none of them are native, they're mostly research stations or temporary settlements that exist for various purposes. The settlements are owned by the governments of both Dark Gaia and regular Gaia. Since there's no equivalent of the Antarctic Treaty, minerals and precious materials are extracted from Borea, and that's the purpose of some of those settlements.

Climate: it must have very high diversity within a relatively small area (and it does)! Demichronia is an island that is very narrow in terms of longitude and vary "tall" in terms of latitude, extending from 20 °N to 70 °N, with continents very close to Demichronia's coasts, which prevent Demichronia's climate from being uniformly oceanic. Demichronia has a mountain range in the middle that extends from north to south, and that creates a rain shadow in eastern Demichronia, which is drier than the western part (my obsession with climatology that I had around 2013-2017 definitely paid off, lol). In terms of longitude, it extends for about 200 km (124.3 miles). I'll work on the geography and climate further in the future! For now, just know that the southernmost part (around 20-22 °N) has a tropical rainforest/savannah climate in its western coast, a tropical highland climate on the highlands in the middle, and the eastern part, due to its proximity to Sudhurland, has a hot desert climate with hot winters due to the tropical latitude: a climate phenomenon similar to that of Mecca, Saudi Arabia! I'll work on the other latitudes eventually!


History (coming soon!)

Coming eventually! The rule is that the Delta (variation of work) must be minimized and the Alpha (amount of desires that the society as a whole can fulfill) must be maximized, as much as possible for each historical period. Of course, in ancient times the approximation was less perfect, but I'll try to understand what was the closest approximation for each historical period, being as realistic as possible, for better immersion.

Phases of history: (OLD draft, I'll likely modify this a lot with time!)

Note: this is an old draft of Demichronian history. I'll likely modify this a lot with time, and see if the Demichronic coefficient can be increased. Note that in this timeline, Demichronia is not yet a vegetarian society, but it will become one at some point before 2050!

Demichronia again (basic description)

As said before, Demichronia is a fictional country where for (almost) every wish, there is at least one worker, building or product that can grant your wish. When people work, it's not that they have to satisfy every wish of every customer (for the reasons explained before), rather, every person (when they work) has a specific role: one person may be a plumber and another may be a cashier at the supermarket, and they must perform that specific role, and get paid to perform that role. As said before, you can't pay a plumber to kiss you passionately, or a cashier to fix the pipes in your house, because that's not their role. So, when one works, one has to perform a specific role, whereas when one is a customer, they can fulfill their wish, because for every wish, there's a worker with that specific role. With some limits regarding violence, death etc. I suppose. If roles were not so sandboxed, that would increase the Delta and cause asynchronicities, and "free time" wouldn't really be free. Demichronia makes sure that one's free time has pretty much no consequences on one's work time. The flag of Demichronia is the same as the polyamory flag.

Fact-checking, content warnings, and "saturation of information"

The Demichronian government controls people not through censorship, but through saturation of information: in Demichronia, everything and its opposite is said by someone: there are, say, "infotainment industries" and as a result, every possible statement is said by someone, making it impossible for the average citizen to distinguish between truth and falsehood. This is where the Demichronian government comes in and "offers" an "official truth", which is supposed to be truthful. This is a control strategy that is the polar opposite of censorship, but perhaps just as effective, or perhaps even more effective, who knows. This makes the Demichronian government allow freedom of speech, because everything that is said is made useless, drowned in a sea of noise. That's the Demichronian government's strategy.

Fact-checking and content warnings in Demichronia are more pedantic than the ones contained in Gaia, but the content itself is always fully available. There are also censored versions of media but of course they're optional, they're available for people who don't want to see certain scenes or types of content. Both censored and non-censored versions of media exist, depending on the preferences of the customer, and one is fully free to choose which one to see. Media often has fact-checking, content warnings, "context" and other forms of notes provided by a centralized authority. One example is the versions of the Quran with illustrations in various styles. Iconography is haram in Islam, and yet the Quran with illustrations necessarily exists in Demichronia (because every wish needs to have the potential to be fulfilled, so there's a great abundance and variety of products and services). However, on the back of the book, there's "context" that the Demichronian government requires to add. That context says that iconography is forbidden in Islam, and that the book in question simply exists as a customized product. It also adds that for a more authentic, halal experience, one must buy a version of Quran without illustrations. This information may be useful to Muslims who live in Demichronia, and also for people who want a more "authentic" experience. As for the content itself, the Demichronian government even when it disagrees with an ideology (and it may even specifically say so, in case the ideology is mostly descriptive rather than normative), it still explains whether or not the book or media one is buying represents that ideology accurately. Another thing is the "disclaimers", for example in games like Need for Speed, where it says that street racing is illegal, and encourages people to drive carefully and wear seat belts. The same happens in Demichronia, of course. For interactive digital media (e.g. videogames), such warnings are opt-out, they can be disabled in the settings if one does not want to see them, but they are necessarily displayed for the first time that one plays that game. From the second time on, it's up to the player to decide whether or not to see those warnings.

As for saturation of information, think about this: if everything and its opposite is said about, say, every politician, e.g. accusing them of every possible crime, praising them of every possible good action (even - but not only - when blatantly absurd), and making all possible neutral statements about them, then freedom of speech is possible, but statements don't mean anything at all, they are no longer credible, because everyone expects that everything is said about every politician, and possibly every celebrity. This permits the government of propagating their "official truth", which is the only one that is supposed to be trustworthy, as every other source combined is basically white noise. This is how the Demichronian government controls information. As you can see, it doesn't use censorship, but its complete opposite.

Even doxxing is usually allowed in Demichronia. How? Because there are agencies tasked with mass-creating millions of fake doxxing texts for pretty much every individual who lives in Demichronia. All of those texts contain randomly generated information, different for each text. This means that when someone sees a doxxing text, the likelihood that it contains truthful information is extremely low. So that means, when someone doxxes someone else, even when the information is truthful, that information will just be assumed to be false, so it won't cause damage. As for "context" about doxxing texts, the government simply says "we're not allowed to tell you if this text is true, but we can tell you that the likelihood of this text being true is extremely low". The Demichronian government calls this "security by obfuscation". With these kinds of techniques, the need for censorship drops to a minimum.


Information centers, and schools

Schools in Demichronia mostly serve the purpose of training young people to become good workers. More detailed information coming soon!

Information centers in Demichronia are centers when one can express a wish, and then the staff in that information center will tell the customer which building/worker/service/etc. can fulfill that wish. Not only that, but also, let's say that a customer expresses a wish to watch a movie with a specific plot: the staff at the information center will tell one or more titles with that plot (if they exist, but Demichronia is such that the level of variety is extreme, and there is very little censorship, so in most cases, unless the request is extremely specific, the movie very likely already exists). Basically, the role of the information center is to provide information as to how to fulfill a wish, and/or who (what building/worker/etc.) can fulfill that wish. If the wish is item-related, then the information center will explain where to find that item and what that item is. Information centers, in addition to workers you can talk with: express your wish, and they'll tell you where to go; you can also buy maps or even small (or even big) books about the kinds of stuff you can do in the town/city you're in! Of course, there are various types of maps and books, they vary in level of details (a general map of the "main" things, all the way to detailedly describing every activity in the city you're in!), focus (e.g. entertainment, utilities, a little bit of everything), and even aesthetics! That is, there are "city information books" with any style you want! You can request such maps/books to the workers in an information center and they'll give you what you ask for (of course, both just talking to the workers and buying the book costs money). E.g. if you want "detailed book of every activity and utility in this city, illustrated in anime style", it exists, and you can buy one in an information center!

Lists of random ideas

NOTE: these lists are NOT exhaustive! By far! I'll list lots of things (especially those that I find interesting, unusual or otherwise creative) but it can't be everything, because the list would be pretty much endless!

Note: because of the system "everything you want happens during your free time (as long as you pay the appropriate amount of money)", the selection of things (e.g food, games, movies, activities etc.) is pretty much endless, as long as those things weren't the result of abusing animals or humans. As for animals right, those are mostly undefined, but raping and torturing animals is illegal in Demichronia. As for animal meat as food for humans... I don't know if it's compatible with Demichronian values. Maybe yes, maybe not. However, if Demichronian values were to be applied to animals, then predation should be abolished: preys must be protected from predators, and predators must be given artificial meat that has the same nutritional properties as real meat. That may be possible at some point in the distant future, maybe... but I'm not sure if it can be done without destroying the ecosystems, or if the vast amount of resources needed to do such a thing can be obtained. Maybe one day, but it's all speculative. Which is fine, since it's fictional, but since this page is set in contemporary times rather than in a futuristic sci-fi society, I don't want to break the suspension of disbelief. As you can imagine, a coherent framework for animal rights is very complex due to the existence of predators in nature. Anyway, I'll try to figure things out eventually. Here I'll have to explain what "modularity" means: things are seen as components of interchangeable parts, which allows to maximize individual personalization of things. That means, the variety of things (food, games, movies, activities, everything really) feels endless, and the things listed in the lists below are simply random ideas that popped up in my mind, they don't represent even a tiny fraction of what's available in Demichronia! However, in Demichronia, there are alternatives to meat that taste pretty much exactly like actual meat, so if one wishes to eat that, it's available! Note: whenever I say "v-meat", or "v-[animal]" (e.g. "v-chicken") what is meant is something that has the same taste and consistency, and if possible, very or at least somewhat similar nutritional values. I'm aware it's possible since I've eaten vegan/vegetarian food that taste pretty much undistinguishable from actual meat. I don't know how it's produced exactly, but it can be done, so this aspect of Demichronia realistic and immersive enough to keep the suspension of disbelief.

Fun fact: people in Demichronia choose their own names! At birth, they are given a permanent identifier that consists of a sequence of letters and numbers and it's unique to each person, but it's important that each person remembers their own, as that's their official identifier. It's not a problem at all if one knows other people's official identifiers: it's just a sequence of letters and numbers used to identify someone, it's the equivalent of knowing someone's name and surname in Gaia, in terms of consequences. You can do absolutely nothing with it, so it's not something that you must keep secret. You can share it, you can keep it to yourself, it's up to you, nothing bad happens either case. The equivalent of Gaian "names" (e.g. John, Jane) in Demichronia are "informal identifiers", which are chosen by the person themself! Before someone can choose their own names, as babies/toddlers/etc. they are given a temporary identifier, that is: [Mother AND father's name]'s son/daughter. After a child is sufficiently developed to choose their own name, they do that. Of course, that can be temporary (though it can be kept if an adult still likes it), and can be changed as often as one wants, even as an adult! The way the government identifies you in the documents and other legal situations is by your official identifier: the sequence of letters and numbers. That means, people will call you by your informal identifier, that is, the name you have chosen for yourself!The official identifier removes the need for surnames, so you don't have a surname (unless you choose to have a fake one in your informal identifier for aesthetic reasons, or to differentiate yourself from homonyms, in case your chosen name is very common)! The government knows who your parents are because it records those informations at birth.

Another fun fact: ethnic composition of Demichronia: "gradient multiethnic". This is contrasted with "sharp multiethnic" (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, Western Europe etc.). Here's the difference between the two: for example, in the USA, there are more people who are (categorized as) "white" or "black", compared to those who are "mixed" (though, because of the historical "one-drop rule", even those who are actually "mixed" often get categorized as "black" by the US government, though if I understand correctly, it was much more prevalent in the past). "Sharp multiethnic" means that yes, there are multiple ethnicities, but they are usually categorizable: e.g. african, arab, northern european, mediterranean, russian, eastern asian, indian etc. they coexist in the same society but most people in that society can be categorized as *something*. However, in a "gradient multiethnic" society, the ethnicity of the population is more evenly distributed. Important: "gradient multiethnic" does *not* mean that each person more or less looks the same as a result of mixing. No, what I mean is that, "ethnicity" is a spectrum, a gradient, a continuum, rather than a collection of multiple recognizable ethnicities. To understand that, compare two cities: City A has a population of around 48% "white" people, 48% "black" people, and 4% "mixed" people. The spectrum exists but the vast majority of people are located near the "extremes". City B has the same spectrum but people are distributed much more evenly across it. That means the concept is not "black vs white" but "darker vs lighter". It's more comparative rather than absolute. Now apply this not only to "black vs white" but also all other ethnicities, both Demichronian and Gaian, and you get a "gradient multiethic society". The reason why Demichronia has this ethnic composition is because of both internal and external migration: since Demichronia spans from tropical to polar regions, various skin tones emerged locally, and since people moved around (e.g. they liked a different climate), it created a gradient of ethnicities. Furthermore, intense migration from Gaia (even though the United Nations of Gaia have made it illegal (but de facto often occurs anyway) to travel to Demichronia since the mid-20th century due to Demichronia being considered a narco-state) intensified this phenomenon. The co-existence of various ethnicities (both Demichronian and Gaian), coupled with the sexual promiscuity of a non-negligible portion of the Demichronian population (as opposed to historical anti-miscegenation + other restrictive sexual laws in the USA, which produced a "sharp multiethnic" society rather than a "gradient multiethnic" society), produced a "gradient multiethnic" society in Demichronia. Furthermore, due to "modular ideologies" (basically syncretism/eclecticism), Demichronia is also a "gradient multicultural" society, as opposed to a "sharp multicultural" society e.g. Canada, UK, Western Europe etc. (maybe not the USA since it's more of a "melting pot", which by the way is not the same thing as "gradient multicultural", as the latter does not imply uniformity but rather, modularity), which contain multiple cultures but are usually identifiable, non-mixed, and tied to ethnicity (with exceptions, of course, e.g. Islam and Buddhism in Western Europe are often practiced by the "native Europeans" (and even then, they're very rarely mixed with other ideologies, usually they are followed in their "normal" version, without creativity), but in many cases, the "multiculturalism" in Western Europe consists of fixed "ethnicity+culture/religion/worldview" patterns, it's what I call "sharp multiculturalism"). Of course, "gradient multiethnicity/multiculturalism" does not remove racism or tribalism (as that's pretty much inevitable due to human nature and psychology), but rather, what it does is that it transforms "us vs them" in "more like us vs less like us" (though, by definition, in Demichronia there are people trying to categorize "sharply" anyway, and there are books/media proposing their own categorization, though none of them is "official", and there are many different categorizations and no consensus). To the question of "is this person a part of my in-group?", the answer is less "yes vs no" and more of a spectrum of in-betweens. That means, racism still exists (and racist content is available to buy), but the Demichronian society reduces its harm by its structure: in your work time, you do a job that is mostly the same every day; in your free time, your experience is more or less the way you want it to be. There's no time to be a victim. If harassment does occur (e.g. a customer harasses you, either if you're a worker or another customer), it's illegal and you can report it to the police. Same with ideological conflict. Since Demichronia approximates Panchronia, there's what I call "causal isolation". In Panchronia (a solipsistic virtual environment where only you exist and everything goes according to your wishes), everyone lives in their own virtual reality, that means, everyone's actions affect nobody else. Since Demichronia tries to approximate Panchronia, some level of causal isolation (though obviously inferior to that of Panchronia, which is absolute) is to be expected. Causal isolation also means that no matter the ideological or religious composition of the society, your individual experience will remain mostly unvaried, due to the maximization of the alpha.

In Demichronia, gay marriage is legal, as well as polygamy (both polygyny and polyandry).

There are relatively large nudist sections of cities (though of course very small in proportion to the actual city itself), where people (18+ only) can go, and they can be naked: there are cinemas, restaurants etc. in nudist sections, just like in "standard" sections. Important rule: it is not allowed for nudist sections to have things that can only be experienced there! Everything that can be experienced in nudist sections (except for nudity itself, of course) must be able to be experienced in standard sections as well!

Food: all food you can think of exists in Demichronia, and it's easily accessible regardless of where you are! Whether or not meat is available is still something I'm figuring out. For now, instead of "meat" I'll say "v-meat" (plant-based food that closely resembles meat in taste). Eggs are surely available, but milk... I'm not 100% sure about that one but I'll still list it as available. This is a tentative approach, I'll refine the concept of animal rights in Demichronia eventually. Keep in mind that if for some reason one day I'll say that eggs and milk are illegal in Demichronia (depending on where my future reasonings will take me), it will still be the case that foods with the same taste and consistency must exist nonetheless, due to the alpha! I think it's possible to at least somewhat recreate them with plants, that should be good enough.

-Pig v-meat with disturbing gore art drawn on the package, art depicting pigs brutally killed and bleeding. Since this art is disturbing and if someone doesn't want to see it they should be able to not see it, perhaps there are dedicated sections with disturbing illustrations in dedicated sections of the supermarket.
-Regular fruit and vegetables, e.g. lemons, oranges, tangerines, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, bananas, strawberries, cherries, watermelons, grapes, melons, pears, apples, cabbage, broccoli, pineapple, etc.
-V-meat of all kinds, including the equivalents of dog meat, cat meat, snakes, bugs, scorpions, crocodiles etc. and foods that contain it, e.g. hamburgers, kebab, cheeseburgers, etc.
-"Cola" (not necessarily Coca-Cola, even just Cola made by Demichronian brands) of various tastes: standard, lemon, cherry, sour, super sour, watermelon, strawberry, alcoholic cola, cola with cocaine inside of it (it's still legal and sold in Demichronia!) etc.
-Udon noodles with vegetables, or with vegetables and eggs.
-V-fish, as well as food that contains it, e.g. v-fish and chips, v-fish sticks, v-fish burgers!
-Spicy restaurants: restaurants that serve spicy food, with various levels of spiciness with super accurate scales. (e.g. Scoville Scale). It also serves non-spicy food, but each food is rated according to spicy scale. This can be done in regular restaurants as well, but spicy restaurants may also be themed with spicy food aesthetics, and mostly focus on spicy foods (though they also serve non-spicy foods). What differs from regular restaurants, however, is that there is also a part of the restaurant where workers are paid to let customers have a "social experience" where you can get compliments for standing spicy food well, where you can brag about being proud of tolerating spicy foods well, where there are "spicy food eating contests" etc.
-Potatoes baked in the oven, and then you can add salt, oil, any sauce you want, anything else you want! E.g. rice with curry and potatoes!

Each food can have various different illustrations written on the package, e.g. lemon juice with an anime girl drawn on it, and she wears a bra with two lemons drawn on her bra! Or burritos with Far West aesthetics drawings on the package! Liquid (e.g. water, juice, alcohol etc.) containers can have different shapes and colors, too! They can range from transparent all the way to opaque, and different colors, and different art drawn on the container!

Games:

-Various crazy fan-made ports (e.g. Tekken 6 for the PS2)
-Fan-games, modded games, ROM HACKS (of any console, from the NES... including PS5 games! No limits (though, due to technology, there is a distinction between pre-AI era and AI era). Copyright-wise: fan games are allowed, even to be sold, but part of the income must be redirected to the original IP holders. The more different the derivative game is from the original, the lesser the amount of money will go to the original IP holders. More detailed information about copyright coming soon!
-Tekken All-Stars: a Tekken game with all characters, all stages and all-mini games from all Tekken games! Crow, Jinpachi, Nancy-MI847J, Azazel, Devil Kazumi, Angel Jin etc. are also playable! Tag mode (with two or even three characters) is available but optional.
-Furry porn games set in Ancient Athens. Some characters swear they had sex with Pan (the god of the wilderness), or with minotaurs, or other strange beasts. Be careful who you tell that to, because in ancient athens there was democracy, so if most people wanted to put you to death, you'll die, and it's Game Over and you have to start over from the last savepoint. You must be very careful with your saves, because there are saves that are "Checkmate", that is, no matter what you'll do at that point in that save, you'll die sooner or late, so it's advised to think strategically and have multiple saves in case something bad happens. However, you only have 10 saves, so you must manage them strategically. A pretty fun game. Of course, if you're not a fan of furry porn but like that specific game mechanics, there are (read below):
-Games where you must manage a limited number (e.g. 10, but it can vary) of save files, but depending on what you do, those save files are "Checkmate", that is, no matter what you do after that point, you'll die sooner or later (and these games have permadeath, which means if you die, you'll have to start all over from the beginning). The goal of these games is to manage your save files strategically and avoid being put in a checkmate position. If all of your saves are checkmate, you've basically lost. If you die, that save file gets erased, and all the progress will be lost. Of course, when you save the game, you can save on multiple files, but be careful: the game doesn't tell you if that game file is checkmate, you'll discover it, but it'll be too late, so it's wise to not save the same situation across multiple files. It's a strategic game mechanic that can be challenging and fun.

Content:

Important note: it just occurred to me that the content I post on the philosophy section of this website, that is, where I say everything and its opposite about as many concepts as possible, is pretty much a summary of part of what can be found on Demichronia, except that in this website it's without the "official truth context note", that is, if I say "the sky is green" somewhere on this website, I'm not going to say "this is false" below (except in a specific page). So, basically, accessing content in Demichronia is like accessing every possible statement, except that you know what is true and what is false, because the government does tell you. However, without that context, you wouldn't be able to tell what's true or false. I find this concept to be very interesting!

-TV channels about pretty much anything you can think of. Not to mention the Internet!
-Blogs, videos etc. about anything!
-An anime-style show set in a supermarket. Mostly realistic, but there are some supernatural elements, which only some characters are aware about. Most of the people and characters believe that is simply a normal supermarket.
-News services on TV/Internet/streaming platforms of various aesthetics, ideologies and characteristics: e.g. news services that are "racist-by-news-selection" (e.g. they broadcast news of violent acts done by specific ethnicities... like some people already do on the Internet -.-" of course, for every ethnicity, there are racist news services against them, so there's equality, after all ;D), "kinda-neutral" news services, conspiracy theory news services, Abrahamic news services (events are interpreted according to Christianity, Judaism and/or Islam), fascist news services, anarchist news services, communist news services, capitalist news services, sci-fi news services (can mean various things, e.g. the broadcasters roleplay as humans from the distant future who comment on current events), "left/right-wing" news services, hedonistic news services (they give positive opinions on things that cause well-being and negative opinions on things that cause pain, suffering, dissatisfaction, negative emotions etc. from their point of view, well-being must be maximized), reverse-hedonistic news services (they give positive opinions on things that cause suffering and negative opinions on pleasurable things), Wiccan news services, Satanic (with as many versions of Satanism you can think of) news services, Hindu news services, Occultist news services, paranormal news services etc. Of course it's not just the ideology that differs between the various services, but also the selection of news (i.e. the things that they decide to talk about), as well as the aesthetics, e.g. some have a "standard" aesthetics like the news in Gaia, some have an anime cosplay aesthetics, some have a kawaii aesthetic, some have a sci-fi aesthetics, medieval aesthetics, fantasy aesthetics, extraterrestrial aesthetics, V-Tubers who tell the news, news services told in an ASMR voice (with or without ASMR triggers of various kinds), doomer aesthetics with a pessimistic man or woman who may smoke while telling the news (important: in that case, they choose people who already smoke, they DON'T require you to start smoking just for that role! In the extreme case that nobody smokes, or if someone smokes but is trying to quit, or if you don't smoke but want to have that aesthetics anyway, they can give fake "cigarettes" undistinguishable from actual cigarettes, but they are just "smoking" water and the "smoke" that you see is just water vapor... the important thing is merely the aesthetics), news services with cyberpunk aesthetics, fairy/forest aesthetics, 1940's black and white aesthetics (but with current news) etc. There are also some news services where the broadcasters are naked and they tell the news while naked, and in some of those news services they even have sex (like, that's intentionally a part of the transmission, so the watchers of that news service can see that) in the "interludes" between a session of news and another! You prefer fetishes instead of sex? Those exist as well! E.g. news channels where the broadcaster shows their feet while explaining the news, or where they fart when they have to (and show their ass), or... I don't remember what other fetishes exist, but you get the gist. Some news services are musical: they sing songs and the lyrics are the explanation of news. Of course, there are "musical news services" for all musical genres that have some form of lyrics. And so on. I say "news services" instead of channels because there'd be too many combinations, and having channels entirely dedicated to those may be inefficient, so in "traditional TV's", they exist but do not have entire channels just for that, they're just news services. However, in Demichronian streaming services, there are indeed entire channels based on that, they can either be "streaming" or "on-demand", depending on the type of experience you want to have! There is also "government context" (which you can turn on or off depending on your preference, but it's on by default) that explains the bias, aesthetics, news topic focus etc. of the various news services. There are both biased news reportings, as well as news that are completely fabricated (fake news): in the latter case, however, there is a requirement to place a large disclaimer (e.g. before the service starts) that says: "the following content is fictional and for entertainment purposes, none of this actually happened". In any case, you can turn on the government context at any time and it will say that the content is fictional. The technology that permits the "government context" is called "Teletext" and is almost identical to the Teletext in Gaian TV's. Of course, now the technology is even more advanced, but the premise is the same: you can see the government context whenever you want it, without it obstructing your vision of the content. Other than the "Teletext", in order to see the "government context" you can also use the "Info" button and it will explain relevant things about what you're seeing.

Technology:

-Flip-phones of all kinds
-Javascript-free Internet (for those who prefer it, but there's also normal Internet with Javascript)
-Customizable themes (for websites and OS)
-Versions of websites optimized for very old hardware. Those websites are mostly just text-only. There are also text-only browsers (like Lynx in Gaia). There are also "almost-only text" browsers, which display only text, but you can click on "display images" and it will display images, with an option to resize them down to 144p resolution. It displays nothing else, though.

Stuff:

-Plushies of pretty much anything you can think of
--Fetish plushies of various things, including monster-girls etc. may also be a hybrid plushie/sex-toy.
-Any clothing you want e.g. you can dress as a penguin, you can wear whatever you want, and clothing shops have *lots* of stuff, anything you want!
-An automatic fruit juice extractor: you put the fruit (without the peel if it's not edible and/or if you don't want the peel juice, of course!) inside and it extracts as much juice as possible! E.g. you put an orange in there (without the peel, of course) and you get the juice, no manual work needed!
-A toy about a hand that does the middle finger and comes out of a toilet, and can reproduce "fuck you" in various languages by pressing a button on its remote (that contains various flags that represent languages).
-Books of the Bible and the Quran (and other religious/philosophical books) with illustrations in every aesthetic, including those generally not associated with religion and philosophy, like Corporate Memphis and anime style. A Quran with illustrations would be haram due to iconography, but it wouldn't contradict the axiom of Demichronia, which is basically "(almost) everything you can think of is available to obtain and/or experience in your free time, as there is at least one worker whose job is to fulfill that specific type of wish". In case of physical items or piece of media, there is at least one person whose job is to produce that, in case of "live" services (e.g. having sex with a sex worker, going to the restaurant, going to the cinema, going to the dentist or any other doctor, paying a plumber to fix the broken pipes in your house, live speeches and conferences, theater etc.), there is at least one person whose job is to provide that experience. This disregards the internal coherence of any ideology outside of the Demichronic axiom: Islam is against iconography, and yet such book (Quran with illustrations) must exist, by definition, due to the axiom of Demichronia. However, the role of the government (and schools) is to provide context, that's why in Demichronian media there are often "trigger warnings" and the like, or additional context. Of course, especially in digital media, such trigger warnings can be removed or modified by the user, because everyone has different sensibilities and it wouldn't make sense to have a "one size fits all" approach to that. In the case of a Quran with illustrations, the context provided by the government (perhaps on the back of the book, so a buyer can know the important information) would be something like "iconography is forbidden in Islam: what you're reading is a customized product that conflicts with Islamic principles. By buying this book you confirm that you understand this. If you want a version of the Quran that is in line with Islamic principles, please buy one without illustrations". By adding context, the government provides important relevant informations. This also means that in social media, posts have the "fact-check" information below, like social media used to have a few years ago (and probably have now, but I generally don't use social media so I can't confirm 100%). Some people have called it, as well as trigger warnings, "censorship" but I completely disagree: the content is fully available, there's just context added on it. Whether or not you agree with the context provided is a different matter, but the content is fully available. Plus, in Demichronia, you can turn the fact-checking off if you find it annoying or distracting, but you can always turn it back on in case you need the "official truth" on a post. In a society like Demichronia, where pretty much everything and its opposite is available to buy, context provided by an "official" source is very important, otherwise you'd literally have no idea if something you read on the Internet or on books is true or not! And this, by the way, as mentioned before, is how the Demichronian government controls information. Not through censorship but through saturation of information. That is, if everything and its opposite is said by someone, one cannot know what is true and what is not true. It's possible (perhaps likely) that people won't care, and that they'll just believe in stuff that confirms their biases, but at least the government provides their truth, in case someone wants it. It also provides what I call "context" (e.g. fact-checking and trigger warnings, but the content itself remains fully available to experience). However, in case of fact-checking and trigger warnings online, those can be turned off if one wants that, so it won't distract from the "browsing experience". They can be turned on and off as one wishes, and trigger warnings can even be customized e.g. if one is more sensitive to certain things and not others, then trigger warnings can be customized. It's a modular thing, of course. Fact-checking can be customized but only in this manner: you can specify what ideology you follow, e.g. Christianity, Islam, Stoicism, whatever... and it can give you information about content related to that ideology, e.g. if that stuff is allowed in that ideology or not. Before advanced AI, simple keyword-based algorithms could be used, for instance, if a post contained "beer" and one used the option of ideological fact-checking saying one was Christian or a Muslim, then it could display a message saying "Context: alcohol is forbidden in the worldview you have selected" or something along those lines. With a huge amount of "noisy" information, Demichronia "labels" content in order for it to be found more effectively. It's how search engines used to work in the 2000's, before SEO spam, sponsored results and the like.
-A Sudoku with hentai illustrations.
-Variation of the above (it's pretty fun): A Sudoku with three different difficulties: easy, medium and hard. In the easy ones, the illustrations are normal anime characters (they can be male, female, something more ambiguous, furries, aliens etc. depending on the tastes, after all, Demichronia can fulfill pretty much any desire), in the medium ones, the illustrations are ecchi (not sexually explicit, but "teasing"), whereas in the hard ones, the illustrations are hentai (sexually explicit).
-A small lavender-scented plushie that you can warm up in the microwave oven and it stays warm for a while (pssst... they exist in Gaia, too, I have one!)
-Toilet paper (gotta list normal stuff too, you know), of various colors, and some of it even has drawings on it (even though that's more expensive).

-Tooth paste, of various tastes, even sour-lemon taste, for those who prefer sour tastes! Sweet toothpaste, spicy toothpaste etc.

-Air conditioning, also of different colors, illustrations, shapes, and even software e.g. air conditioners that have a triangular remote that resembles Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls: various types of sounds when you press a button (the buttons themselves can have lots of different colors, shapes and aesthetics): the temperature and settings may be displayed in various colors and fonts, etc.
-Furniture of various aesthetics (a lot of different aesthetics)!
-Card games with hentai (or IRL pornographic) illustrations: e.g. the King and the Queen are naked and attractive.

Activities:

-Violent IRL shows, like a modern day Colosseum: customer pay to participate, and other customers pay to watch. All-consensual (I suppose there are people who want to participate and even pay for that! If not, then no violent IRL shows... there are certain things that if too extreme, Demichronia cannot guarantee that they can be fulfilled)
-Street fights: either, if the fighters are workers, the fights are fake or physical damage is pretty much non-existent... of if they fighters are customers... then the customers can decide up to what level of damage they want to risk being subjected to... and other customers who are interested in the fight may watch the fight.
-Fetish centers (e.g. where one can smell a girl's feet or farts if they want to, or have sex with people in furry costumes), sex work of all kinds.
-Street food where you can eat all sorts of stuff, including v-meat or even actual meat of cats, dogs, bugs, rats, snakes, scorpions etc.
-You can pay for friends (and partners). Yeah. But because the role ("delta") must be as narrow as realistically possible, not all professional companions offer the same "services", so you need to express your wish more specifically and then you'll get a professional friend that can do what you want. E.g. some may be physically lazy and won't do sports with you, but they may chat or listen to you, and others vice-versa, they may play sports or games (e.g. videogames, tabletop games, cards etc.) with you but won't do "emotional support". Each professional friend, just like every worker, has their own role, since different people are good at different things. Every person's good qualities are valued and used in Demichronia, whenever economically feasible. You can treat a professional friend badly, but only some of them, and only if they specifically offer "being treated badly" as part of their service! It's likely there won't be many of those, so the price may be very high, and not very affordable. Those people that offer that service are selected for their emotional resilience, and the majority of professional friends don't offer "being treated badly" as a service!
-Places where you can pay to set things on fire. I call them "Pyromaniac fun centers".
-Water parks
-"Mud parks"(?): like water parks but with mud instead of water!
-Strip clubs where you can play billiard, watch semi-naked women (or even totally naked... or men even), and drink alcoholic cocktails, or playing poker or do some other gambling activities. The building is full of neon lights, both outside and inside. It creates a certain, specific aesthetics, perhaps reminiscent of some Las Vegas buildings. I don't know the name of that specific aesthetics, I'd have to research it, but I think I've expressed the concept clearly. Of course, there are places for every aesthetic thinkable!
-Kart racing.
-Places where you pay to destroy things (rage rooms)
-You can pay someone to tell you a "bedtime story". Now, telling people "bedtime stories" is an incredibly specific job, so it's likely those workers do some other, somewhat related things as well, perhaps companionship-related, like chatting? But not too dissimilar from the basic concept of telling people bedtime stories, or telling people stories in general, or keeping people company before they fall asleep, like perhaps in a hotel? like... idk... ASMR experience in hotels? Or not necessarily ASMR but company-related, something like that.
-Outdoor public discussion forums. All the customers are consensual, of course OuO. There are workers who either play a role in the discussion (and in that case they may be experts at that topic), or act as moderators etc.
-You can find a "community" for anything! Of course, there is a distinction in the roles of the workers (e.g. the staff of that community) and the other customers, and I'll explain it in more detail eventually.
-Maid cafe with barely dressed (or even nude) girls/guys serving you food. These places are 18+. They can also be clothed if the customer wants to, and for each type of clothing, there is at least one worker that will wear it for you.
-"Clubs" where one's own biases can be fed... an offline echo chamber, basically. The club managers may or may not actually believe in those biases (though I guess they usually do, unless it's some extremely specific ideology, in that case it's a personalized service offered to just one individual, or the few who believe it), but they do that for money... it's their job to provide that service to the customers! E.g. "white supremacy clubs", from "white" (of European descent, I suppose) immigrants (from Gaia) who are basically grifters. I don't know what the ethnic composition of Demichronia would be (though it's most likely multiethnic, so the axiom can be better fulfilled), it's not important, but I guess that somehow, a significant number of people from Gaia managed to migrate to there, idk. Not just "white supremacy", of course, that's just one example... there are "clubs" for EVERY ideology, hobby and interest! And every aesthetic, as well! So, some may prefer hanging around people who have a certain aesthetics (e.g. 1980's rock aesthetics, or furry aesthetics) without having to commit to any idea or activity, just for the aesthetics, and there is a "club" for them. Of course, they must pay to join and stay. There may be other customers in those clubs, who are in no circumstance obligated to please other customers. In case no other customer wants to do activities with a certain customer, some of the workers of that club (whose job is to interact with people who want interaction) will do that, in order to assure every customer is always pleased and entertained, and never feel excluded.
-Copyright is more flexible, fan arts for money exist, but they have to pay a certain percentage to the original IP holders. The entertainment industry in Demichronia is HUGE (to cater to the tastes of as many customers as possible, even the most obscure niches have tons of content in Demichronia).
-You can buy and use drugs, any drug, even hard ones. If that's what you want to do in your free time...
-There is plenty of super blasphemous content, like, "Prophet Muhammad drowning in piss", either drawings, animated movies etc. Or "Jesus being penetrated by Shrek" etc. But there's also lots of "halal" content in media, or halal food in supermarkets etc. the point is that every taste and preference is satisfied. If someone likes blasphemous content, there is plenty of that, if someone is a Christian or a Muslim, there's also plenty of stuff that respects your values and it's easy to follow your restrictions. There's also plenty of kosher food etc.
-Themed parks (e.g. dinosaur themed)
-"Relax centers" where one can go after job, to relax from the stress of one's job.
-You can go play Dungeon and Dragons (you pay for it, of course!), the other people in your party playing with you are either other customers, or workers that get paid to play with customers... or a mix of both! The Dungeon Master is usually almost always a worker, I suppose!
-Nudist beaches.
-Astronomic observatory where you can use an advanced telescope to see the Moon up close (and perhaps Saturn if the telescope is advanced enough?).
-Competition of racist jokes/sentences. You pay to join the competition, against lots of other participants, and whoever says the most offensive thing wins a prize. The interesting thing is that Demichronia is structured in a way such as it's very unlikely to "accidentally stumble upon" something you don't like. It's possible that there may be a specific urban and building geometry that maximizes this characteristic.
-Games similar to Takeshi's Castle, which you can pay to participate in. Winners may get a prize. There are also TV shows about that.
-Practice Yoga.
-Water parks.
-You can pay to participate in an IRL game where you are a detective and have to find out a "criminal" (it's not real, just a game, an act... but it can be fun for some!).
-Videogame competitions/tournaments!
-A fun indoor park similar in some ways to the Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy VII.
-Disco with music in it, and there may be several activities.
-Cinema.
-Going to the beach. Likely free to just go to a beach, but the various activities available (and there are likely many! perhaps beach volley and others) are accessible through payment.
-Live concerts of every type of music you can think of!
-Karaoke.
-Various festivals.
-You can easily ride a bike if you want, there are bike lanes everywhere!
-Shopping!!! (supermarkets in Demichronia have pretty much everything, lmao!)
-Cosplay festivals
-A place where you can interact with a (fictional) group of fairies in a forest! The forest is real, the "fairies" are just girls (or guys, too) in fairy costumes role-playing as fairies for the customers' entertainment. Some of the "fairies" may offer sexual services. If not, then it's surely possible to pay someone to wear a fairy costume, go to a place in a forest, and offer the sexual service, or even just a romantic one. There are people whose job is "cosplay sex worker", and basically they're like sex workers but they also do cosplays and roleplays. A normal sex worker may not offer that specific service, I suppose. Every worker has their own role, it cannot be too broad.
-Go see a physical original size recreation of Peach's castle of Super Mario 64. It's likely a very attractive tourist attraction. What is the relationship with Nintendo, or whether Nintendo would allow it, is undefined. It's possible that the owners of the museum pay a royalty to Nintendo, or that Demichronia has its own laws regarding copyright and they don't have to abide by international copyright laws necessarily (though that may lead to economic sanctions against Demichronia). Idk, I may decide eventually, but one thing's sure: the castle DOES exist in Demichronia! The relationships that Demichronia has with Nintendo and the rest of Gaia are speculative, but it's very likely that they won't be too good, because Demichronian laws/ideology/culture violates several International Treaties of Gaia (e.g. the treaty that criminalizes drugs). So it's likely that economic relationships between Demichronia and Gaia are rather difficult. In any case, if Gaia doesn't allow its content on Demichronia, then Demichronia pirates and creates derivative content from Gaia, by definition.
-A penis museum. A museum that displays mummified penises of various animals, including a mummified penis of a human from ancient Demichronia, and in the museum there are texts on the walls with explanations about penises in general, or some "fun facts" about penises.
-For those who like to vandalize buildings' walls with text or other stuff through spray paint: there are buildings made specifically for that. You pay, and for a set time you can have a certain portion of a wall that is "yours" to "decorate" with whatever text or symbol or drawing you want (even with all profanities and offensive stuff you want, if that's what you want). You pay for the service and, if you don't have a spray paint bottle with you, you are offered one (or more than one, with different colors), but that also costs additional money. As a result of the existence of this service, some buildings in Demichronia, or rather, some parts of the city have "vandalized" walls, though this is intentional. Most parts of the city are devoid of such "decorated" walls, however. It's only some parts of the city that have those, to emanate a certain aesthetics.
-Churches, mosques, synagogues, Buddhist temples, Satanic temples, Neo-Pagan plages of worship (of all kinds) etc. as well as modular buildings for worship of minority religions or even religions made up and believed by a single individual. In the modular places of worship, the "priest" or otherwise the people working in it will adapt on a customer by customer case. If an individual has made up their own religion, they can send the description of the religion and description of the request (of what the worker(s) should do) to the worker(s) of that modular place of worship, and the worker(s) will do as told by the customer. In exchange of money, of course.. all places of worship, including mosques, Christian churches etc. cost money to enter and participate, though cheap enough a minimum wage worker can afford to go there every day.
-"Cuddle Therapy".
-Asking someone (a professional companion) to watch a movie with you, in exchange of money. Note that each professional companion may have limits regarding the content of the movie you want to watch with them, e.g. if the professional companion finds that movie offensive or otherwise uncomfortable, they won't offer that service. However, for every movie, there must be at least one worker you can pay to watch that movie with you!
-If you feel undecided about something, you can go to an expert of the subject of the thing that you're undecided about, and let them make the choice for you. For people who are terrified of making their own choices in life, this can feel convenient. You can of course choose the "type" of advice you get. You can get, say, "official truth advice", advice based on a centralized, official truth provided by the government, but you can also select "ideology advice", that is, let's say you're a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a minimalist, a Stoic etc. you can get advice based on those ideologies too, if that's what you ask for!
-Cool example of the above: the Ephemeral Space. It's a place that is designed to look like a liminal space where people go for a brief period of time and then they leave. In that place there are various people (workers) who you can talk to. Each of them represents an archetype, ideology, personality or attitude, and each of them answers your questions in a different manner, similar to my philosophy pages where I list as many viewpoints as possible. When you finally get as many answers as possible, you may have different reactions: confusion ("which of these is the right answer? What should I do?") or liberation ("there's no right answer, after all, it depends on your perspective"), or some other feeling. The place of course can have varying aesthetics (everything can have varying aesthetics in Demichronia), but I think a sci-fi/fantasy/liminal aesthetics would fit!
-(Only in some cities) copies of Gaian attractions: the Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Giza pyramids, Statue of Liberty, the Kremlin, Pisa tower, the Parthenon, statues of Kim Jong Un etc.
-Individual vs group superiority clubs. Individual superiority clubs are clubs where you can go to, and the workers there are (either actually are, or pretend to be) "inferior" to you, in whatever value that you find worthy of being proud about e.g. if you feel proud of your guitar skills, you can pay to be in a club where people genuinely don't know how to play the guitar, or they don't play it well, and then in that club you can receive compliments for your guitar skills, as well as hearing other people play guitar (badly) and having them say "yeah... you play guitar much better than us! We suck and you're amazing!". The same thing goes for "immutable characteristics". Let's say that, idk, you're racist, or sexist (e.g. misogynistic or misandric), or whatever else... you can pay to join a club where they tell you that you're better than them due to having those characteristics. Then, in order to make you feel even more validated, they can tell you the achievements of the people who share the characteristic that you are "proud" of, e.g. if you're a man, then a bunch of women may tell you about men's historical developments, strength, contributions etc. if you're a woman, then a bunch of men may tell you that your gender commits way less crimes, that it's strong, independent, that it managed to overcome patriarchal systems (at least in Gaia... by definition, in Demichronia it was never so severe... for each historical period, the axiom was maximized as much as possible within the limits of the technology available... the same cannot be said at all about Gaia, neither in the past nor now), that it can manipulate men through beauty, that women commit much less violence, sexual abuse, wars, genocides etc. compared to men and that "we (men) are nothing compared to women... without a top-bottom patriarchal system, women would naturally be better than us. Not to mention, men do a lot more wicked things than women. Women are more pure and beautiful" etc.. Even if you identify as non-binary, a bunch of men and women (who will be framed as inferior to non-binary people) will find something positive to say about that, too! And this makes things clear... Demichronian society as a whole has to be very creative in terms of thinking, arguments and ideologies. Necessarily so, because of the axiom. This will lead to worldviews, arguments and ideas that are pretty much unthinkable in Gaia! I somewhat suspect (though I'm not 100% sure) that this "acceleration" of brainstorming all possible ideas may make Demichronia extremely culturally prosperous compared to countries where uniformity is valued. Group superiority clubs have a similar concept to individual superiority clubs, except that the workers are (or claim to be) part of your group, defined as a characteristic that you find worthy to be proud about, and the "inferior" people are those outside of the group, not present in the club. Of course, without saying anything directly to the outsiders, as that'd be non-consensual/harassment. As already said, freedom of speech/hearing is pretty much absolute in terms of content, even live content such as superiority clubs, but it's not as free (though not super rigid either) in customer-customer interactions, or in customer-worker interactions outside of the daily/weekly role of the worker e.g. you cannot insult or say offensive/controversial things to a cashier that is working at a supermarket.
-Casinos
-Video game tournaments, or even just paying to play to some video game with other people: either workers whose daily job is to play those games with customers... or with other customers, but only if they want to play with you... whereas with workers, it's guaranteed you'll have someone to play video games with.
-In video game stores, you can try a game before you buy it, even though that costs some money. Obviously, most of that money goes to those who made that game... (even if it's a Gaian game, assuming there is business between Demichronia and Gaia, which there likely is).
-Museums of various kinds, normal and weird ones.
-Sports of all kinds. You can play either with other customers (but only if they want to), or with workers whose daily job is to play with customers (so it's guaranteed you'll have someone to play with).
-Welcome parties: e.g. if someone from Gaia goes to Demichronia, either as a tourist or to live there permanently (and it's possible, just like it's possible for a clear web user to visit the dark web), they can request a welcome party to them. Also, if someone from Demichronia moves to a different city (which happens often around 18-25 years of age, as one moves from their city of birth to a different city, often due for climate/geography/natural environment reasons), they can request a welcome party to the new city. Parties can be customized, the party will conform to the person's idea of "party", which may vary a lot. Of course, the "party workers" also have a low delta, so there are many of them (maybe around 10-100 for each city? idk for sure), each one with a different personality, different activities they can do (the range for each "party worker" is relatively small and divided into "categories", due to the low delta) etc. so depending on the idea one has regarding "parties", different party workers will provide the service. One can also call a worker that is not a party worker to participate to the party, e.g. if one has the idea of having sex (or even an orgy) as their idea of party, they can call sex workers to provide that service to the party. Note that not all "non-party workers" provide this type of service, but for each activity/desire that no party-worker can fulfill in that specific city (rare, because they try their best to maximize the alpha within the context of parties anyway), there is at least one non-party worker that offers party services in addition to their regular service. So, let's say that your wish is rather specific, and you want to play Dungeons and Dragons as your welcome party, and none among the "official" party workers knows how to play it: then you can call Dungeons and Dragons workers to play that with you in the party environment (with welcome party aesthetics)! Again, not all Dungeons and Dragons workers will offer that, but due to the alpha, there is at least one group of Dungeons and Dragons workers that offer, as a service, playing in a party environment (in addition to playing normally, of course). The alpha doesn't mean that everyone will do everything for you, just that for each wish, there is at least one person (or minimum relevant number of people, in some cases) whose job is to fulfill that type of wish.
-Democracy roleplays: Demichronia is not a democracy. If it was, then the alpha (or, more broadly, Demichronian values) would be at serious risk. However, if one wants to vote or participate in a democracy, a simulation is provided: Democracy simulators are places (indoor or outdoors, depending on the preferences) where people go and vote for one (or more) fictional political parties, based on one's preferences or some other strategy. Then, the votes are counted, and a political party or candidate (the candidate is a real person but the whole thing is a fiction, for entertainment) wins. Whoever gets more votes wins. Then, a celebratory party, inauguration, speech etc. is performed by the winner, in front of the paying crowd. If someone you didn't like won, no worries, there are sections (e.g. sub-groups, clubs etc.) in this democracy simulator. For each candidate or political party that has lost, there are groups where to discuss "conspiracy theories" regarding why that political party or candidate lost. For instance, they may have intentionally or unintentionally miscounted the votes, or perhaps someone had spread false rumors about candidates that swayed people's opinions, and others refuse to declare that [winner] is their ruler, and do (fake) protests inside the hall or outdoor garden of the democracy simulator. Every few years, a new election is made and people vote again, hoping to win (what do they win, since it's just a simulation? some sense of identitarian satisfaction, I suppose... well, that's not much different from real life "democracies" anyway loool XD)
-Shooting ranges: you can pay to go to somewhere where you shoot targets (I mean, mannequins, or signs with a red "X" on it... not humans lol and it's structured in a way to guarantee safety). You can even be given a score if you want, based on hit rate, speed, precision etc.
-Locations that were made with the intent for tourists to take photos (note, not all cities have those, but in the entirety of Demichronia there exists at least one location for any weird thing that a tourist may take a photo of): e.g. a supermarket that sells cocaine and other drugs close to fruit, vegetables and other foods. They are placed close to each other with the specific purpose of tourists taking a photo of it and then saying "see? This is what Demichronia is like!".
-A nurse/doctor (you can choose the gender you want, or even non-binary/androgynous if you're into that) that masturbates you if you can't use your arms. You call them, and they offer that service for you (at a cost, of course... but it's relatively affordable).
-Car repairer: if your car is broken, you can bring it to a car repairer to fix your car!
-Schools where you can learn martial arts!
-Real time human translator (the work still exists but is slowly being replaced by AI as of mid-2020's): you pay someone to translate a conversation in real time between you and another person who speaks a different language.
-Public transport (buses, taxis, trains etc.)

Jobs (may be "normal" jobs as well as jobs that don't exist anywhere else): (P.S. possible outcome... very low unemployment rates? I'm not sure...). Note: every worker has their own job, and they offer that service, and not other services (e.g. you can't ask a plumber for a kiss... that's not the job of the plumber). For almost every wish, there is someone whose job is to fulfill that specific type of wish. Note: this section is redundant, as for everything that is listed in this page, there exists a job that revolves around providing that service or creating that product.

-Plumber (you fix tubes in one's house etc. exactly like the rest of the world)
-Cashier in a restaurant
-Sex worker
-Drug worker
-Countability section (for money, business etc.)
-Chef or waiter/waitress in a restaurant.
-"Professional friend/partner" (even sexual partner). That's a thing in Demichronia.
-Those who clean up the mess in the "Pyromaniac fun center" (the centers where people can light things on fire in a safe, controlled environment). Or those who guarantee safety in those centers (they are experts in how fire works and propagates, and are able and paid to quickly extinguish a fire if things get out of control).
-Those who manage the outdoor forum discussions (they also must be well-knowledgeable about the topic of the discussions... PhD-level degree required?)
-"Club" manager.
-You can be paid to tell people bedtime stories in Demichronia (ASMR-like experience?). Of course, it's better if you're skilled at that. Good voice intonation etc. but there are schools courses made specifically for that: to train you to act friendly or in various manners, or to have various voice intonations... which can provide a more fun experience to customers.
-Voice actor/actress. Programmer/designer. Cartoonist etc. all the jobs required to create anime/cartoons and videogames.
-You can sell drugs. Even hard drugs. Cashier at that "drug store" or someone who produces/cultivates drugs. Since all drugs are legal and regulated in Demichronia, the quality of the drugs is higher. I mean, drugs are still dangerous because, well... they're drugs, duh! But at least a heroin addict won't accidentally get addicted to Fentanyl, unlike in countries where drugs are illegal (and therefore zero regulation). Drug-related crimes are also very low in Demichronia since it's all legal and regulated (no rival drug gangs conflicts, for example).

"Proportion-independent society"

Demichronia approximates a "proportion-independent society", that is, a society that will feel mostly the same to individuals regardless of the demographics composition in terms of culture, religion, political ideology, worldview, philosophy etc. For example, in Gaia, a society that is 95% Muslim will be very oppressive for homosexual people and religious minorities etc. but Demichronia has social mechanisms that cause what I call "causal isolation". That is, actions done by individuals have little to no power to change the life experiences of anyone else other than oneself. Due to "causal isolation", the religious/philosophical/ideological/political composition of Demichronian society is almost entirely irrelevant to the life of any individual. This makes Demichronian what I call "proportion-independent society". However, in practice, it's highly likely that Demichronia has a multicultural, diverse society. Even if somehow, the masses tried to make it monocultural, like, on purpose, the work requirements, especially (but not only) when it comes to producing media, would make it difficult for the Demichronian society to remain that way.

Example of modularity (though there is *A LOT* more to say about that): foods in restaurants are made of a collection of interchangeable ingredients, rather than complete, indivisible meals. Reason why modularity is very important in Demichronia: by making it easy to combine ingredients, it increases the likelihood that a customer has what they want. Modularity is a very important concept to keep in mind throughout this page (not just about foods, of course, this was merely an example to illustrate the concept).

Sex work is legal and regulated (not just sex but also all kinds of fetishes are available to be experienced). All drugs (even hard ones) are legal and regulated. Hypothesis for drug legalization outcome: less drug-related crime (e.g. no violence related to rival drug gangs having conflicts with each other), drugs are controlled (e.g. a heroin addict won't accidentally get addicted to Fentanyl), though the substance itself remains dangerous, for obvious reasons, but the dangers that are unrelated to the characteristics and effects of the substance itself and arise from the fact that drugs are illegal are reduced or perhaps even eliminated. Since drugs are taxed (like everything else, thought the amount and extent of taxes is unspecified for now, in this first draft), it provides revenue for the government, and since they're legal, police has less work to do (compared to, if everything else is equal, drugs were illegal).

Copyright: copyright exists in this system but fan-art is allowed, provided royalties are paid to the original IP holders. Products (e.g. videogames) are, as said before, modular. E.g. videogames are not considered (by law) as a whole, indivisible product, but rather as a collection of parts (e.g. assets, levels, soundtracks, dialogues, voice acting etc.). The more of those parts a fan-art uses, the more the percentage of money will go to the original IP holders. That is, the less derivative the fan-art is, the higher the percentage of money will go to the original IP holders. It is possible to copy the game 100% and sell it, BUT in that case it must be sold at the price of the game that is copied and 100% of the money will go to the original IP holders. The more different the fan-art is from the original product, the less money will go to the original IP holders. This modular approach may (maybe?) permit a balance between copyright and fan-art. The absence of copyright would discourage large companies from creating entertainment, leaving only hobby projects that are unlikely to be of high quality, whereas prohibiting fan-art would decrease the alpha e.g. if one wants some fan-game mash-up of two of their favourite games, or any fan-art really, prohibiting fan-art would lead to more unfulfilled wishes. This approach may maximize the alpha, compared to other approaches, if my understanding is correct. Note that if you use copyrighted content, then you must sell your fan art at a minimum price equal to the value of the content you used, and if you sell it at the minimum price, 100% of the money you make must go to the original IP holders, whereas if you sell it at a higher price, you can keep the rest of the money you make. Basically, for each copy you sell, the amount of money that goes to the original IP holders is equivalent to the value of the copyrighted content you used. Another interesting consequence of the modular copyright is that, for instance, if a 2 hour long movie costs (the equivalent of) 10 dollars, you could buy the movie for 10 dollars or... say, if you're obsessed with a specific scene that lasts 1 minute and 12 seconds (1.2 minutes), you can buy that scene for (the equivalent of) 10 cents. There's no risk that one could "trick" the system by hoarding small scenes until recreating the entire movie: if one does so, they'll end up paying 10 dollars anyway.

Internet: almost every type of content (except non-consensual stuff, stuff that was created as the result of abuse, etc.) must be available, and the "browsing experience" must be customizable. The idea is more similar to the early 2000's, where you used to search for stuff and you got what you searched for. 2020's Gaian Internet often "force-feeds" you content through algorithm that you cannot freely customize or remove. Demichronian Internet can also have "feeds" if you want them, but they're not compulsory, and they can be easily customizable. This reduces the possibility of "accidentally stumbling upon unwanted content" (unless you want to have that kind of experience, and in that case, you can!). You can have a feed if you want but you have a lot more control over it compared to the Gaian Internet. Comments are also not as central to the Demichronian Internet experience as they are on Gaia, though you can see them if you want, but they tend to be more decentralized rather than having just one comment section. Internet websites must have two versions. "Original vision" website and "customer-oriented" website. "Original vision" website may be whatever the creator(s) of the website want it to be, they can censor stuff, put whatever they want. "Customer-oriented" website means that the customer decides what the website is like, as such, it must be hyper-personalizable (with CSS themes or other ways of theming the website however the customer wants, or for example, it MUST work without Javascript as well, in case the customer wants to disable Javascript), and there should be freedom of speech. Demichronia is very pro-free speech, but in a weird way that would confuse Gaians: more details about this will be written below because there are some things to specify about "free speech" in Demichronia. Also, websites necessarily must have various "light" versions, for various hardware: the lightest versions of all should be able to run on text-based browsers with very limited RAM and very low specs. If they're video-only websites, then a text-based version of it should exist, to see at least the titles and descriptions of those videos, and other text content! Every app also has "light" versions with different system requirements! Games have fan-based ports for lighter hardware (a percentage of the money goes to the original creators of that game).

Free speech (in Demichronia it's "PAID SPEECH" though LMAOOO): what many online people (who are usually either anti-free speech or pro-free speech) don't understand is that speech is a two-way thing: there is a speaker and there is a listener. The customer vs worker distinction here remains very important. A customer should be able to access all the "speech" (i.e. content) they want (though it costs money, e.g. a book costs money, of course, and in order to access content online you must pay for a monthly online connection, it's not free, of course). E.g. if you want to buy Mein Kampf, sure, pay the money and you can have that book. If you want to hear racist things, sure. There are also "in real life events" (e.g. conferences) where certain things will be said, and it costs money to hear that stuff. The important thing to remember is that this "access to content" is a result of the desire of the customer, and that the customer pays for that desire to be fulfilled. One has pretty much complete freedom of speech and what I call "freedom to seek" (e.g. as I said before, the freedom to access any content one wishes, rather than producing it). Spontaneous social interactions are a different matter, however, and it's not the same thing as accessing content. You may not say offensive things to a worker unless it's a worker whose job is to specifically being said those things, e.g. emotional support for anger, or a professional companion that offers the service of "being treated badly" etc. but in normal cases, that's not a service most workers offer. Interactions with a normal worker e.g. a cashier at a supermarket or a waiter at a restaurant have some rules and norms, you can't be disrespectful or aggressive, and they should treat the customer well, too! Interactions between other customers are not rule-less either, they're mostly based on consent and respect. So, in terms of free speech, Demichronia makes a distinction that Gaians generally don't make: the distinction between "content" (which can be media or even live events), and spontaneous social interactions. With the former you have pretty much unlimited freedom of speech/listening/reading/playing/etc. with the latter, the rules are somewhat more rigid (but not excessively so, otherwise it'd be a problem), and you do not necessarily have "free speech" in the context of spontaneous social interactions. As said before, for some reason, it doesn't seem that Gaians often (if at all) make this distinction in discussions regarding "free speech".

Crime: some things are crimes, of course. E.g. theft, non-consensual physical violence, sexual assault, murder, drunk driving, fraud etc.

Demichronia is very pro-gun, like the USA (it logically results from the idea behind this ideology... if a customer wants a gun... they must be able to get it). Even weapons like molotovs etc. are legal and sold in stores. Euthanasia is legal. There is social welfare: everyone is entitled to a minimum wage, though they are forced to work, and it's sometimes the case they don't choose their jobs, like in Communist countries. Sometimes they can fully choose and sometimes they can only choose between some options, depends! In any case, if one does not choose their job, the people doing non-chosen jobs are selected with the goal of minimizing physical and psychological harm. One may say it's "totalitarian" and they may be right, but it's not much different from so-called "liberal democracies" in Gaia. E.g. I have read that in Germany, the government will recruit young men for the military, in case the number of people going there voluntarily is not met. They call it "needs-based conscription". Demichronia is just more honest about what they do and the reality of their principles. "Needs-based conscription" is the approach of Demichronia: things are voluntary, unless there is a need for a certain type of job, because if something is lacking, the alpha (the variety of desires that the Demichronian society can fulfill) gets lower, and it goes against Demichronian values. In that case, there may be some coercion. But if there's no lack, then the Demichronian government won't go out of their way to force people into certain jobs. Of course, if there are less workers in a certain area, that service may cost more, but that's seen as mostly acceptable, unless it gets too extreme. Anyway, the economy in Demichronia is not communist, but it's not capitalist either. It's an economy that has characteristics contrived specifically to approximate as much as possible the axiom "you can have pretty much everything you want in your free time; in your work time you do a job that is as narrow and specific as possible". It doesn't have to be "good" (note: Demichronia is not meant to be a utopia or a dystopia, just a thought experiment, although I try to minimize the amount of coercion in one's work time and maximize the amount of satisfaction in one's free time as much as possible), it just has to be the one that is most likely to maintain the "Demichronic" situation. It's not communism, as there is currency (money) and income inequalities, and it's not capitalism either, because there's a lot of state intervention and "profit" is not the thing that is maximized, but something else, namely the Demichronian axiom.

The surveillance and control needed to maintain economic equality, e.g. like in communism, would decrease the alpha and therefore would go against the axiom. Likewise, the need to maximize profit, typical of capitalism, would lead to "enshittification" and "planned obsolescence", which would also go against the axiom by decreasing the alpha. So, the economy is neither communist nor capitalistic, but one specifically contrived to approximate the axiom as much as possible. Minimum income in this system is enough not only to survive but to have some basic daily entertainment as well! Though you are literally forced to work, and it's sometimes the case the government chooses your job (like it happens in Communist countries), and sometimes people choose their own jobs, it depends! I don't know how often each happens, though. The important thing is that (almost) every wish should have at least one worker whose job is to satisfy it. I'm not an expert on economy but... somehow the Demichronian state tries to maximize the variety of products, so that every taste can be satisfied. I suspect it's technically possible IRL but I suppose it'd require some really convoluted economic decisions contrived specifically for that purpose! I don't think it's unrealistic technically, I just think governments don't have that specific idea in mind when ruling over a land. Business workers and owners can keep the money, provided all the workers are paid at least the minimum wage. If a business closes for some reason, then the services and products provided by that business MUST be provided by at least one business in an area that is accessible to the customer (e.g. in the same city, preferably within 15/30 minutes of walking, or perhaps a bit more, but it must be inside the same town/city).

Urban planning: 15/30 minutes cities. Ideally, at the very least for necessities, products and services should be available within a 15 minute walk from every customer. If something is not a necessity, then it may be expanded to 30 minutes, but it should be accessible. There are bike lanes everywhere, making it easy to cycle. Reasoning: if a customer wants to ride a bike around, or walk, they ought to be allowed to. Cars are also allowed, of course, but they should not be a requirement for living a normal life. Neighborhoods are mixed residential and business. No "suburbia", unlike the USA cities built and developed post-WWII. Various parts of the city may have different aesthetics, so one can live or stay in places with their preferred aesthetics: e.g. cottagecore parts of the city, cyberpunk aesthetics part of the city, medieval aesthetics etc. but those are optional and it's easy to avoid them if you don't want to see them. The rule is that "themed" parts of the city must NOT have any product or service that is only available in that part of the city!!! Everything you can find there, it MUST also be able to be found in a "standard-themed" part of the city.

Protests are allowed with permits and only in certain areas, and only if you pay! Reasoning: if a customer wants to protest, they should be allowed, but as with everything else in Demichronia, you have to pay in order to get a "protest permit". If a customer wants to see a protest, they are allowed, but they should also pay (not the protester, of course, since those are also customers... unless that's a staged fake protest purely for entertainment!). If a customer *does NOT* want to see a protest, they are allowed to not see it, so protests are only allowed in protest-designated areas. It's an in-between, between so-called "free countries", that allow more disruptive protests, and authoritarian countries which do not allow protests at all. It seems like Demichronia is often a quirky mix of extremes, as I'm seeing so far! Interesting!

There will be interesting activities, such as "rage rooms" or "pyromaniac fun centers" where people can burn things, in a safe, controlled environments. This is a logical result of the idea behind this ideology. As mentioned before, you can pay not just for sex but also for friends. Like, a "friendship session" for one or more hours cost a certain amount of money. In Gaia there are, I'm aware, some people who use therapists as the closest approximation for "friends", leading to an unsatisfactory experience, because of course, therapists are not meant to be friends, but something different. Not just sex or friends, but you can also pay for "romantic experiences" (which may or may not include sex).

There are also "Clubs" where one's own biases can be fed... an offline echo chamber, basically. The club managers may or may not actually believe in those biases, but they do that for money... it's their job to provide that service to the customers! E.g. "white supremacy clubs", from "white" (i.e. European) immigrants from Gaia, who are basically either grifters or they actually believe in that, but that does not matter at all. Not just "white supremacy", of course, that's just one example... there are "clubs" for EVERY ideology, hobby and interest! And every aesthetic, as well! So, some may prefer hanging around people who have a certain aesthetics (e.g. 1980's rock aesthetics, or furry aesthetics), and there is a "club" for them. Of course, they must pay to join and stay. There may be other customers in those clubs, who are in no circumstance obligated to please other customers (that's a "customer to customer" interaction, and as such there is no obligation to do anything for other customers). In case no other customer wants to do activities with a certain customer, workers (e.g. the managers of that club) will do that, in order to assure every customer is always pleased and entertained, and never feel excluded. It's basically paying to have your biases fed, paying for validation and "community" (even though that "community" is just staged interactions for money... but it also may be "real" to some extent, e.g. spontaneous interactions between the customers who are part of that club).

There is plenty of super blasphemous content, like, "Prophet Muhammad drowning in piss", either drawings, animated movies etc. for example. And not to mention, Rule 34 (sexual scenes involving religious and/or historical figures, like "Jesus penetrated by Shrek"). But there's also lots of "halal" content in media, or halal food in supermarkets etc. the point is that every taste and preference must be satisfied, and as such, the highest variety of content possible must exist, and able to be accessed if one wants to see it (but also able to easily be ignored... the social infrastructure and urban geometry may be optimized for that). If someone likes blasphemous content, there is plenty of that, if someone is a Christian or a Muslim, there's also plenty of stuff that respects your values and it's easy to follow your restrictions in your life. There's also plenty of halal food, kosher food, vegetarian/vegan food etc. in restaurants and supermarkets. It's not *necessarily* the case that ALL businesses must have those products, BUT they should be available within 15/30 minutes of walking from every customer. If they are not available elsewhere, at least one supermarket within a 15/30 minute walking area will be COMPELLED by the government to have such products.

You can go play Dungeon and Dragons (you pay for it, of course!), the other people in your party playing with you are either other customers, or workers that get paid to play with customers... or a mix of both! The Dungeon Master is usually almost always a worker!

There are plenty nudist beaches.

-It's illegal for an employer to contact someone for work-related reasons after they have finished their work hours, as that's considered "outreach", and a violation of the "sacredness" of free time (which is literally part of the Demichronian axiom!). All work-related communication must be done within the work hours.

-Regarding "customer-oriented websites", they are more expensive compared to "original vision" websites, which may be free. For example, you can pay to remove ads and tracking, or to customize the website exactly the way you want it, with themes and features fully customizable (e.g. you can put a retro or kawaii theme on any website, or for example on social media you can pay to hide "distracting" stats such as number of followers, likes or views). The law requires websites to have such "customer-oriented" versions, even though you have to pay a subscription for it. If the website refuses to create it (e.g. they have not enough money or time), the government will create such website (and the content of the original website will be proxied into the customer-oriented version, as mirroring it would be a waste of server storage), and will pay the creators of the original website some money, and most of the money from subscriptions will go to the original creators. If the creators of the original website create the customer-oriented version as well, they can keep all the money.. Actually... a better method would be to make it easy to customize the CSS of a website. The creators of the website don't even have to do anything, there can be a company whose job is to classify the CSS selectors for each site, name them so that they are simple to understand and modify, create a graphical interface for CSS customization that is easy even for beginners, a "theme store" with user-generated themes, and voila, websites are customizable without the creators of websites having to do anything! It's similar to the extension "Stylus" in many ways. I'll update the information on this topic to reflect that.

Bias by selection news services: there are news services that offer a biased view of the world by selecting only a particular kind of content. In Gaia, an example of this is racist selections of news. Each piece of content, when taken singularly, is truthful and may even be neutral in tone. The bias arises not from the pieces of content taken individually, but from the overall selection of content, as a whole. In Gaia, there are some accounts that share a lot of news of violent crimes committed by people of certain ethnicities, while not talking about violent crimes in general. In Demichronia, that kind of stuff also exists, but much more variety of it exists! For example, there are Murdakist news channels (Murdakism is a religion whose only teaching says that wearing a yellow t-shirt must be a crime punishable with death) who, whenever a murder or rape occurs, they search for all the photos of the perpetrator, and see if there's at least one photo where that person wears a yellow t-shirt. In that case, they show that image attached to the text that describes the crime. If a photo of the perpetrator wearing a yellow t-shirt cannot be found, then the Murdakist news channel simply does not talk about that crime. The fact that the perpetrator has worn a yellow t-shirt at least once in their lives is connected more or less implicitly with the crime. The goal is to lead the watcher to believe that people who wear yellow t-shirts are evil and must be punished with death. This and much more exist in Demichronia, this type of content is "bias by selection news services".

About schools in Demichronia (to be expanded eventually)

Basic summary of schools in Demichronia: when someone works as an adult, it's often the case that they have learned to perform those tasks in school. That means, the primary goal of schools in Demichronia is to train students to work as adults. The more jobs a student learns doing, and the better a student is at a job (and as many different jobs as possible), the better. Of course, each student will be better at different things, so the difficulty of the tests (both theory and practice) differs not depending on the age of the student, but depending on their skills. If a student is curious about something "I want to learn about this specific thing!", that's also done in Demichronian schools, but the end goal is that the student will be able to do at least one job well, but ideally more than just one job, so it's easier to increase the alpha of the society if people know how to perform more than one job. However, once the job is achieved, the variability is low: the worker will perform the same task, or very similar tasks, every day. Those tasks are almost always learned at school. Of course, reading and writing are essential so those are taught to little children. Same goes for math, which is extremely important. History, philosophy etc. are slightly less important (especially compared to Gaian schools) but they're taught too, especially (but not only) because one's job may be writing a history or philosophy book, or be a moderator in public discussion forums, or be the manager of a club of certain ideologies: most ideologies require at the very least some knowledge of history, philosophy and even rhetorics, which is a subject taught in Demichronian schools as well! Not all subjects are mandatory, some are optional, but many are mandatory. It's not mandatory to reach a certain level in everything, unlike in Gaian schools, but it's mandatory (unless one has severe learning disabilities) that one is good at at least one job (ideally more than one job! The more, the better!), so "not studying/not going to school" is not an option. The tests increase their difficulty the better you become at a specific subjects. In the lunch time, there's free time, and it's similar to the free time elsewhere: there are various things to do in Demichronian schools, including "rebel clubs" where you get compliments for being "cool" or "anti-conformist" and stuff like that.

Goal of the schools in Demichronia: to teach students how to perform at least one job (minimum requirement, otherwise you wouldn't be able to work as an adult, if you don't know how to perform any job). However, the more jobs you know how to perform, the better, and schools encourage you to learn as much as possible. However, unlike in Gaia, you're not required to learn everything in the school program: just at least one job, but the more, the better. The system is designed to facilitate learning as many jobs as possible, and it removes any unnecessary difficulty: the goal is that you know how to perform at least one job (ideally, many jobs). Any romanticized idea of "struggle" when studying (or working, for that matter) is considered an obstacle that reduces the alpha. One of the many ways learning is facilitated is that tests' difficulty adapts to your skill levels rather than your age. Another way is to gamify tests and make them more fun. Tests can have different aesthetics: e.g. if a student feels excited and performs better on a test that looks like a medieval fantasy manuscript, that is the test given to that student. The goal, as I said before, is simply that the student learns, and the system tries to maximize learning, without forcing any "one size fits all" approach: it is completely expected that different students will be better at different things. It's ok to be really bad at something (equivalent of "failing grades" in Gaia), as long as you're good at at least one thing, but ideally, as many things as possible, and Demichronian schools pushes all students towards their best. If someone's best includes being really bad at math, that's fine, as long as that student is good at other things. The reason why being good at more than one job is strongly encouraged is because then, before deciding someone's jobs, Demichronian society has a wider selection of possibilities compared to if students knew only one job. However, once the job is chosen, it will have low delta (variability). But at school, all students are encouraged to learn as many jobs as possible! I'm repeating things more than once so eventually I'll rewrite the "schools in Demichronia" part and make it more concise lol.

Schools in Demichronia often have the same subjects as schools elsewhere, but they are particularly focused on preparing students for to become good workers:

Work. One has to study psychology, physics, mathematics, history, programming classes etc. just like everywhere else, but there's a focus on making the subjects relatable to prepare the students for work, e.g. psychology can be associated with having to please customers, physics can be associated with building things, or working with substances, or other things, programming classes may prepare a student to work on software development etc. basically subjects are, whenever possible, associated with possible work uses. Of course, in practice, this likely wouldn't be too different from Gaian schools!

This makes schools in Demichronia quite pragmatic and efficient! Also, students get paid if they pass a test! The higher the grade, the higher that student gets paid! They don't get paid a lot, like, not like a full job, but it's more than enough for entertainment. School hours are roughly from about 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. five days a week but there is a hour-long pause for lunch around 11:30 to 12:30 where they can pay for school lunch food and also there are various games (both physical and video games) and leisure activities (which I may list eventually) a student can pay to access during the 'school free-time'. School tests don't have a 'maximum level of difficulty', regardless of the class you are in, the better you are at a subject, the more difficult the tests you'll have to do will be, and the more you'll get paid. Some students are really good at certain subjects! Students are given learning material (e.g. books, lessons) for free, but they have to pay for lunch and optional leisure activities (I mean, lunch is also technically optional, but it's not the best idea to skip meals... but on the other hand, you can bring your lunch from home!), and they get paid if they pass tests! Students don't have to wear a uniform, because in Demichronia, any coercion is seen as "work", so the student would have to get paid to wear the uniform, and that wouldn't make much sense economically! They are just coerced to go to school (to be physically present there, but they don't get paid for that, just like one does not get paid just to be physically present at their work building), study and do the tests. If they pass the tests, they get money. The higher the grade, the more money they'll get. Leisure activities available at Demichronian schools during the lunch break (the list is NOT exhaustive by any means, as there's LOTS of stuff there!) (P.S. you have to pay for EVERY activity you participate in during the school break!):

-Lunch. You can order any food you want there (it doesn't have to be "healthy", either, though you do get a description of the nutritional values, allergens etc. but then the choice is up to the student). -Video games (though you have to pay to play them, just like every other activity during lunch break, including the lunch food itself)
-Physical games (e.g. sports, card games that can be played in less than one hour, and other stuff, I guess)
-A place where you can either (list in increasing order of cost): read a book during the break, or rent the book for some time (so you can read it at home), or even buy the book permanently! Not just books, but also movies, videogames (as I said before), music (with headphones or headphones, otherwise the logistics of pleasing everyone would become rather difficult), and other forms of media!
-A sort of "club" where people (workers) say stuff like "tired of school rules? come here, then!". In that place you can do a lot of stuff: swear, say offensive things, there's even a "rage room" where you can destroy stuff, insult any teacher that you don't like! Only behind their backs though, because the teachers' job is to teach, not to be insulted! It's not allowed to be disrespectful to teachers!. Of course, teachers cannot mistreat students either. There must be reciprocal respect between students and teachers, at least when they're interacting with each other. Of course, in the rebel club, a student can insult a teacher if the student wants, but NEVER in front of the teacher! The school logic mimicks that of the broader Demichronian society: students are like workers, they go to school under coercion (like in Gaia), and therefore that cannot be considered "free time", but "work time", and students get paid for their "work" (i.e. passing tests). During lunch break, students are like customers, and they can spend the money that they either received from the tests or got from their parents for the lunch food and leisure activities. They can also save it and use that money outside of school (e.g. to buy a videogame, or a phone, or some cool stuff, or go to a restaurant, whatever they want), of course! Oh, also, in this "rebel club", the more "rebellious" you behave, the more compliments you will get from... well, the people who get paid to run the club, of course! The compliments are something along the lines that you're "cool" or something like that, to play on the rebel aesthetics. This may please teenagers and, perhaps more importantly for the Demichronian government, it brings money!
-Other stuff (I'll have to think about it!)

Subjects and ratings in schools:

As said earlier, schools in Demichronia are mostly oriented towards teaching students how to learn to perform various jobs (as many different jobs as possible). Since everyone is better at different things compared to other people (you shouldn't judge a fish on how good it is at flying, after all), the better one is at a certain subject, the more difficult those tests will get, and the higher that student will get paid. There's another benefit of being good at a subject: for instance, if a student eventually becomes good enough at medicine-related subjects, that student will get a license to be a doctor, and so on. Tests do not have the same difficulty for the everyone, the difficulty depends on how good the student is at that thing, and students are valued and encouraged to get better at everything, while keeping in mind that everyone is better at certain things than others, that not everyone is good at the same things or have the same skills. It's of course not mandatory to get high grades at everything, but it's encouraged to be very good in at least one thing. Of course, if one is good at more than one thing, it's even better! Schools are basically training camps for "future workers", in many senses. Tests are mandatory for most (but not all) subjects, but it's not mandatory to be good at them. The main objective of tests is to see what a specific student is best at, as that may become the job of that person. Not necessarily, of course. Sometimes people choose their jobs, sometimes not, depending on the market. Doing the test itself is mandatory, and if a test is passed successfully, the next tests of that subject will become more difficult, and the student gets paid more, and may get some benefits in terms of work e.g. after a certain level of medicine-related skills is surpassed, that person will get a license to work as a doctor, though that level for doctors is reached at university-levels, since lots of things need to be known and being a doctor is a huge responsibility, but other jobs may be easier to be allowed to do, depending on the characteristics of the job. If a test is not passed successfully, no big deal happens, the test will have to be done again, but it's never mandatory to pass it successfully, it's just mandatory to do the test. It's even possible to fail the same test over and over again since first grade to 12th grade and, even though that's quite the extreme failure, it's not mandatory to pass it, ever. However, you don't get any money from that test if you fail it. Again, tests mainly have the purpose of seeing what a specific student is best at. Some subjects are not mandatory, though for now I won't list which ones, since I haven't decided. There's no limit to how difficult tests can become, so someone who is very, very good at something can get to very high levels and get paid a lot. Tests and classes are not determined by age but by the skills a student has in that specific subject. Here I'll try to list the subjects that one can learn at school. I'll look at the list of activities and jobs and try to think of what skills may be required to perform those jobs. Note that subjects often (but not always) have both theory and practice tests:

-Cooking classes. From the basics to extremely complex and difficult dishes. Works: chef etc.
-How to grow crops. From basic concepts to growing difficult crops and advanced concepts. Works: farmer etc.
-Mathematics. Works: various (maths is much more important than many people think, actually!)
-Psychology. Works: various (not just psychologist... psychology is also very important!)
-Software development.
-Writing classes and reading comprehension. It also includes being able to create texts with various biases, one for example may be tasked to write a text on a certain topic with positive, neutral and negative biases, explaining various types of biases, framing, biases created not just by wording but also in which order the information is presented (anchoring effect, priming effect etc. which can be connected with things learned in psychology classes). As per the usual rule, the better one is at writing texts of various kinds, including fictional and non-fictional texts, the higher one gets paid. Works: book writer, journalist, script writer (e.g. for movies), bias rater etc.
-Physics. Very important for many things!
-Music (both theory and practice).
-Acting and voice acting.
-Physical activity (e.g. sports)
-Art of various kinds: not just drawing but also sculpting, music, creating video games, creating clothing (e.g. knitting) etc.
-Sociology, history, linguistics, philosophy, religions etc.
-How to operate various house instruments e.g. ovens, dishwashers, washing machines etc. Works: there are people who get paid to do that, e.g. for disabled or extremely busy people, and in general they're good skills to have.
-How to play various games, including videogames. Works: some people may want to pay specifically to play against competitive and skilled players, and an average 'professional companion' may not necessarily qualify, so being good at playing videogames may be a good skill to have! It's also good for one's cognitive abilities, but schools don't care about that, they only care about training workers. But since being a skilled player at certain games is a job, well... that also means it's a subject at schools! Of course, this is one of those subjects that are not mandatory, because for example, people with severe photosensitive epilepsy may not be able to play videogames, and the more severe the issue, the less the variety of videogames that person can play. Just like cooking, where one person may be allergic to certain foods, some things are not mandatory or will be at least modified depending on the needs of that individual.
-Laws and economics.
-Geography.
-Tourist attractions of various places e.g. to be a tourist guide.
-Basic emergency life-saving techniques.
-How to perform massages (maybe this subject is only for adult students? idk...)
-Informations about various products just in case one's job will be selling them and giving informations to the customers.
-How to create physical objects of various kinds e.g. chairs, phones etc.
-Cleaning and tidying a place. E.g. in case someone will work as one that cleans up the mess in pyromaniac fun centers. The faster and better job, the higher the student will get paid, and will have to tidy "more difficult" places to tidy, created specifically as tests, with increasing levels of difficulty, to test the tidying skills of the student.
-How to safely operate industrial machinery.
-Learning foreign languages, e.g. in order to be a translator, either real time or for various pieces of media. Note that Demichronia has its own language, and I'm creating it. A loglang, to be more precise. I may post it on this website sooner or later, it's relatively developed already, at least for the basics.
-Etc.

The theory lessons and tests look quite similar to Gaian schools, but not identical, whereas the practice is more varied. Students are required to perform tests for most subjects but are not required to pass them. If one passes a test, the next test of that subject will become more difficult, whereas if one fails a test, the test will have to be done again, but at no point is it mandatory to pass it, ever. The information of which subjects that a specific student will become best at, will be valued and taken into consideration. Note that subjects are modular, so if one passes a specific part of a test, that specific part of the test will become more difficult next times, whereas the parts of the test that were failed will be presented again with the same difficulty in the next test.

Something interesting about school tests is that the only thing that matters is that the students get the right answers and have understood how to perform the task, so apart from cheating, the tests themselves, as long as they ask the correct questions, have the right difficulty etc. can vary! For example, in Demichronia there are "educational videogames", of an incredible amount of variety! For example, there are RPG videogames where in order to attack the enemy you must answer correctly to a math question. The more powerful the enemy, the more difficult the math questions become. If you answer incorrectly, the enemy will deal you damage. You defeat enemies and get more experience as you proceed. A student can request these "gamified" tests and, if the students passes without cheating, and if the questions asked are relevant and with the right difficulty, that is considered to be a valid test. Of course, the test must be done in class, in front of the teacher, to avoid cheating, but students can absolutely request a test like that! There are a lot of videogames like those in Demichronia (for a lot of different subjects!), and teachers, if students ask, can give handheld consoles with those games in it. The role of a student is simply to perform tests and pass them as often and successfully as possible, the student has no other role, so uniforms, useless formal rules etc. are not required for any student! Tests are simply questions about certain topics and with a certain difficulty, the aesthetics that accompany those questions is considered irrelevant, the only thing that matters are the questions themselves, and if the student answers them correctly, it's considered to be a valid test!

Modular ideologies

In Demichronia, there are plenty of media "promoting/descripting" "modular ideologies". Modular ideologies are syncretic/eclectic ideologies, religions, worldviews, philosophies, political ideologies etc. that contain components of different ideologies. Mixtures, basically. Ideologies can also be mixed with various aesthetics to create uncommon combinations e.g. media promoting conservative Christianity with Corporate Memphis aesthetics, or so-called "woke" (late 2010's/2020's) ideologies that, instead of Corporate Memphis, flat/minimalistic design, protest art, or various pride flags etc. they may style their message with Renaissance paintings, for example. The point is that not only the various ideologies can combine ideas, but also aesthetics! These are what modular ideologies are! I'll make more examples soon!

By the way, if you're interested in seeing what conservative Christianity with Corporate Memphis aesthetics looks like, here's an X account of mine where I did precisely that!. Keep in mind that conservative Christianity is completely antithetical to my own beliefs, so it's not what I personally believe, but nonetheless I think I did a good job at sounding realistic, as if that account was run by a person who actually had those beliefs. I guess I'm pretty skilled at being ideologically Turing capable, lol. That is an account I only used one day in September 2024 and I used it as a "proof of concept" purely to see what such content would look like. The result is... pretty interesting, in my opinion! If I find any unusual combinations of worldviews and aesthetics on the Internet I may list them here. For now, the section of the page listing unusual combinations will be hypothetical and speculative. Note that in Demichronia, it's necessarily the case that all the content described in the list below exists and can be accessed on demand.

Ideologies + ideologies combinations (or other weird ideas)

Ideologies can be combined with each other, even when they're very different, and strange ideologies can be created. However, if you analyze ideologies very closely, even the really weird ones are, after all, unorthodox combinations of different sub-ideas, which I call semantic primes, an idea taken from linguistics and applied to ideologies. List of some interesting ideologies. Note that material describing/promoting these ideologies necessarily exist in Demichronia and are available to buy... of course, not every city produces these ideologies, but they are produced somewhere in Demichronia, and then the material (e.g. books) are available to buy everywhere in Demichronia, due to that material being mass produced and exported.

1: Murdakism: wearing a yellow t-shirt is strictly forbidden.
2: Exolibertarianism: it's like Libertarianism, but only outdoors! In any indoor environment, money is forbidden, and people are given things according to their needs. Note that even in one's house, money is forbidden, so you can only have money outdoors! So, where do you take your money? You can't put it inside a bank safe, because it's a closed environment, money MUST remain outdoors, and it's forbidden to put it inside any container! In order to have money, you must be homeless in Exolibertarianism. Or rather, you can have a home, but you must never enter it. Well, you can enter your home, actually, but you must leave your money outside. This is actually an interesting ideology, I may make a page about it, lol.
3: Tomatophobistan: eating tomatoes is strictly forbidden.
4: Drosor: wearing a yellow t-shirt is strictly required. The only moment you can take it off is when you have a shower, you must keep it on in every other moment!
5: Liberal Islam: some things about Islam remain, e.g. prayers, the theology/creation myths, Allah, Adam & Eve, pilgrimage to Mecca etc. except that it's pro-LGBT, pro-alcohol/pig/etc. (for other people, though one may refrain from consuming those oneself to respect Allah's wish... the rules only apply to oneself, and never to others), pro-freedom of religion etc. this is actually not that uncommon in Gaia, tbh, especially (but not only) in Europe and English-speaking countries. There may be a vegetarian and a "carnist" version of Liberal Islam: the former forbids pig meat (or any other animal meat for human consumption) for everyone, the latter allows meat, including pig, but the follower himself/herself may not eat pig meat, as a follower of Allah.
6: Anarcho-volcanism: it's like classical anarchy, except that anarchy is the will of the volcanoes, and that will "must" be respected (it's not a strict rule that humans have to obey to, it's just an idea considered to be "the wisest" among all the ways to organize a society). Volcanoes are worshipped as gods, though they are not higher in any "hierarchy" (as there are no hierarchies, everyone is equal in terms of power, there's equality not just amongst humans but also between humans and volcanoes!), they're just entities wise enought to have invented anarchy, billions of years ago, and their ideas can now finally be implemented (dinosaurs and early humans could not do that, even though volcanoes had already invented the concept of anarchy)! There may be many versions of Anarcho-volcanism, e.g. regional variations: Hawaiian Anarcho-Volcanism, Italian Anarcho-Volcanism, Japanese Anarcho-Volcanism, Icelandic Anarcho-Volcanism, Indonesian Anarcho-Volcanism etc. where volcanoes from different regions are revered, and there may be "psychotropic" versions of Anarcho-Volcanism, which state that one can communicate with volcanoes and gain more knowledge about anarchy through psychedelic substances.
7: Liberal National Socialism (LibNatSoc): this may be interesting... it's like National Socialism (Nazism) except that it's liberal, so it's pro-LGBT. Racism and anti-semitism are removed from the ideology etc. what remains, then? Perhaps building highways, vegetarianism (either for oneself or for the entire society... though the latter is not very liberal), more animal rights, the awareness that tobacco is harmful and therefore not smoking (though without banning tobacco, as that is an individual choice), the idea that Germany must regain its pre-WWII territories, and perhaps some other ideas. When asked about the horrifying atrocities committed by Nazi Germany, a LibNatSoc will agree those are horrible, and will say that their ideology has purged National Socialism from those horrible elements and created something new, something better. Also, quotes from Hitler that may have anything "positive" or "feel-good" about them will be taken out of their historical and cultural context and will be generalized into something positive and inspiring.
8: Hedonistic Gnosticism: it's almost identical to Gnosticism in terms of cosmology, theology, concepts etc. but it's hedonistic rather than ascetic! The world is corrupted, ruled by the Demiurge, except that a follower is encouraged to indulge in earthly pleasures as much as possible, and perhaps even make the world a better place for others as well (egoistic vs altruistic hedonism, and yes, in Demichronia, both versions have their own content, and even a balance between the two has its own content!).
9: Silicate freezing: an ideology that states that anything containing silicate must be inserted inside a freezer and stored there. Rocks and other minerals that contain silicate must be picked up and inserted inside one's freezer. If the freezer is already full of silicate, then another freezer must be bought and filled with silicate, and so on. It's one's duty to maximize the amount of silicate inserted inside a freezer.
10: Soul purification through wall-staring: staring at a wall for more than a certain amount of time (the amount varies depending on the book, duh!) purifies one's souls from all sins.
11: Furry animal guide: everyone is a furry, the world is divided in two categories: people who have woken up to this truth, and people who are still blind to it. Everyone's soul has an animal guide, a fursona, and furries are the ones who are aware of this fact. Depending on the animal one's soul is, that reflects on one's behavior, characteristics etc. and it can give a lot of useful information on oneself! The goal is to find the characteristics of one's fursona: what animal it is etc. in order to gain more insights on oneself!
12: Psychedelic psychiatry: "mental disorders" have the names of 1960's and 1970's rock songs, and the "solution" to those is psychedelic substances. Their version of the "DSM-V" is called "LSD-V" (LSD is an acronym that stands for "Literature of Standard Diagnostics") and it's full of psychedelic artwork illustration. "Mental disorders" are called "Psychic disorders" and do not match psychiatry's "Mental Disorders" 1:1, e.g. an example of a psychic disorder is "Yellow Submarine" (sleep apnea), and it's cured with psylocibin. Another example is "Rocka Rolla" (depression) and it's cured with Ecstasy (MDMA). There is a consensual version of Psychedelic psychiatry, as well as a non-consensual version ("patients" are forced to take psychedelic substances). The latter is illegal in Demichronia (just like non-consensual standard psychiatry), but books/media describing or even promoting it exist and are easily available to buy (though with a "context warning" that forcing people to take substances is illegal). As expected, of course, since even books promoting Nazism, fascism etc. are also available to buy, even though it's illegal to attempt to estabilish a society like that in Demichronia, as it'd go against the Demichronian axiom. The most important aspect in Demichronia is the alpha (availability of desire-fulfillment): work is not an inherent value, it's merely a means to reach the goal (the alpha). The delta (low variation of work day after day) is also not a primary value in Demichronia, just a method to prevent asynchronicities.
13: Volcanic religions: volcanoes are considered as gods. As with any other theistic system, the implications of that concept may vary wildly.
14: Transgender supremacy: there are many arguments for this, but I'll make just one, for illustrative examples (just keep in mind this is just one, the arguments can be literally anything, due to the fact that Demichronic media contains pretty much everything you can think of!). Example: transgender people are considered superior because it's an example of early "soft transhumanism", which will slowly take humankind into a direction of transhumanism, where medicine and technology will transform the human body and capabilities and transcend beyond the current limitations. This group of "transgender supremacists" consider glasses (the ones you wear on the eyes... I have to disambiguate since "glasses" can mean many things in English), hearing aids, as well as transgenderism, the first early examples of "proto-transhumanism". Transgender people are seen as those who refuse to play by the limitations of the human body, and who try to transcend those limits: it's possible for someone who has biologically male characteristics to look undistinguishable from a female and vice-versa. This, to this group of transgender supremacists, is a sign of the progress of technology and medicine. Cisgender people are considered (by this group) to be stubborn, like cave dwellers who for some reason refuse to use fire to cook the meat of the animals they have hunted. There are books in Demichronia that say precisely this (in their language, which is a loglang): "cisgender people will regret their stubborness. They refuse to take advantage of the transcendental characteristics that technology and medicine can give to our bodies. We can be of any gender we want... and soon, when technology allows that, we will power our bodies to become far superior to cisgender people. Not only we can be of any gender we want, but we'll be able to become anything we want, and have any characteristics we want. The current methods by which people transition to another gender will soon be considered laughably primitive. We will become post-human". Their materials (e.g. books, movies, videogames, music, cartoons, live events etc.) is easily available to buy. Of course, in Demichronia there's also plenty of anti-transgender content, if that's what you prefer (however, it's not shoved up your throat if you don't want to see it, and it's extremely easy to avoid, just like pretty much any type of content... it's you who decide what you want to see in Demichronia). However, unlike in Gaia, there is a lot more variety in anti-transgender arguments, too! In Gaia, on social media (e.g. Twitter/X, if you look at the accounts of Elon's friends you see plenty of that stuff), anti-transgender accounts always post the same arguments, the same memes etc. those same memes and arguments exist in Demichronia too, but also other content that is pretty much unthinkable in Gaia. E.g. anti-transgender content that claims that being transgender is bad because language is an alien parasite that has infected humans' brains since a few tens of thousands years ago or so, because of the contact with a virus that came from an alien meteor that brought the virus on Earth. When humans came into contact with that virus, they developed language. This theory claims that if transgenderism becomes too common (i.e. calling someone a "woman" just because that person identifies as one), then this virus will send an alarm signal for "linguistic anomaly" to a super-predatorial alien species that will cause human extinction with their advanced weapons. And therefore, for this reason, transgenderism (along with all other "linguistic anomalies") must be stopped. To my awareness, you simply don't see this type of content on the Gaian Internet. Anti-transgender content in Gaia is very repetitive and uses recycled memes over and over again. However, in Demichronia, there's great variety, and the "anti-transgenderism because the alien parasites that live in the human brain would summon the alien species that will wipe off humankind" media exists, and there are also movies, books, music, cartoons, videogames, live events etc. regarding this content, and much more!

15: Chromatic purity religions: Murdakism (a religion that considers wearing a yellow t-shirts a crime punishable with death) is merely one example. Other religions include Drosor, a religion that says that the only allowed color for t-shirts is yellow. Other religions may say that the only allowable color for a pen should be blue, and that pens of all other colors should be illegal, punishable with death, and so on. Chromatic purity religions are concerned with the "correct use of colors". Transgressors are not necessarily considered worthy of death, but there can be other punishments as well (not applicable without the victim's consent, of course, because that'd go against Demichronian laws, but the material proposing such religions is allowed and can be easily bought).
16: A religion that says that every human's greatest goal is to shove a paperclip up their own ass.
17: Millions of gods and goddesses are in a disco club, dancing to lame music, except for a few thousand gods and goddesses, who are closer to Earth (which is the bathroom of that disco club) and they sell cheap drugs to humans at a very expensive price. That is how humans get drugs. And then humans sell those drugs to other humans. This is an example of a religion based on "divine origin of drugs hypothesis".

Modular sports

Sports are also modular, they're considered a collection of rules and "conditions for victory". Other than normal sports (which of course exist and are practiced in Demichronia) there are also modular sports, with... interesting combinations of rules and conditions for victory! Coming soon.

1: Running + card games: a few runners run, and in each lap, they are given a random card from a covered deck (that they cannot see). When given a card, of course the runners can look at it. After five laps, each runner has five cards. Then, they sit on a table and play the card game with the cards they have gotten. Of course, "running + card games" contain an incredible amount of variation, but in many versions of this type of sport, the results of the card game can influence their rankings in their running game e.g. they may be added 10 seconds to the "total run lap time", giving the opportunity to someone else to win, they may switch places with someone else, they may be given a penalty or advantage in the next running game etc. it's basically a type of sport where scores and rankings are decided both by running and by playing card games simultaneously: in order to win, one must be good both and running and playing card games. Due to the nature of card games, of course luck is also a component.

Relationship with Gaia (work in progress, first draft, may change eventually as ideas become more internally coherent)

Possible starting ideas (may or may not be changed eventually): travel to Demichronia is either illegal or a grey area since the mid-20th century due to Demichronia being considered a narco-state, but de-facto often still occurs for tourism, through indirect means e.g. travelling from Colombia, the Cayman Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Greenland, some islands in the Indian Ocean etc. which allow travel to Demichronia... travelling directly from countries such as the USA, UK, Europe, Australia etc. is not allowed. Demicronia is subject to economic sanctions from a large part (though not all) of Gaia for a few reasons: all drugs are legal there, as well as "copyright infringement". Note that it's not the intention of the Demichronian government to infringe on copyright: Demichronia contains all sorts of fan-arts (due to maximing the alpha), but the copyright system of Gaia does not officially allow that. However, since large companies in Gaia can break Gaian laws, they do business with Demichronia anyway because otherwise, Demichronia would still create those fan-arts, and Gaian companies would get no money from that. Since Gaian companies prioritize profit over anything else, with the same zeal that Demichronia has in maximizing the alpha, doing business with Demichronian artists is de-jure illegal (according to UNG (United Nations of Gaia) laws) but de-facto never enforced.

Another fascinating idea is that, since Demichronian media contains pretty much everything, Gaian propaganda can very easily use "lie by omission" when saying negative things about Demichronia. Here's a genius example: Demichronian media contains pretty much everything, including (fictional) "Terrorist Threat" content. There's a "context warning" saying it's fictional and purely for entertainment and that it should not be taken seriously. Basically, for every major location and spot of interest, Demichronian media mass produces fictional (for entertainment, clearly labelled as such) "Terrorist Threat Content", in every aesthetic imaginable. For every year, method of terrorism (bombing, starting fires, mass shootings, bioweapon, alien weaponry, magical powers), and spot of interest, this content is produced. So, there is a lot of that content. In the year 2000, that content was produced as usual, just like every other idea (it's still produced today, always has been, always will be). (Fictional) terrorist threats on the Eiffel Tower in 2001 by bombing it, on the Colosseum by making use of advanced technologies that aliens gave to the Demichronian government as a gift etc. due to the sheer variety and quantity of such content, some of that content will eventually end up being true, though the Demichronian government is never involved, it's simply a coincidence, or rather, a statistical near-certainty: if you make millions of different statements about the future, there's a very high chance that at least one of them will become true. Or rather, a more correct explanation is that if any terrorist attack occurs, there's a very high chance that, due to the sheer variety of content, that attack was described in at least one of the Demichronian media that was created prior to that attack. So, among the fictional "Terrorist Threat" content that was created in the year 2000, there were at least some (differing on aesthetics, tone etc.) that said that "the Demichronian military will attack the Twin Towers in New York City sometime in 2001". This was great ammunition for "western" Gaian governments, which (in this alternative timeline that includes Demichronia) used that to paint Demichronia as an enemy, even though the Demichronian government was not involved at all. The Demichronian government issued a "context note" to the USA government, explaining that the content was fictional, and that this type of content is created for pretty much all spots of interest (over 20,000 locations, cities and more!) both in Demichronia and in Gaia, for all types of weapons and methods (realistic, plausible, futuristic/sci-fi, magical/fantasy etc.), for all years, with all aesthetics and with all attitudes about such threat e.g. some content is pro-attack (proud), some is pro-attack but with a more "ethical" tone (we need to do this for... [plausible sounding reasons]), anti-attack ("the terrorists will attack [place], and it's terrible! We must stop them!") etc. The Demichronian government explained to the US government that because of the extreme variety of such content, there's a very high chance that if any terrorist attack actually occurs, at least one of these fictional contents existed that described an attack on such place, and that's simply a normal statistical phenomenon caused by the extreme variety of "predictions". The Demichronian government further explains that all this content is fictional and for entertainment purposes only, explains that if there's a genuine terrorist threat, the Demichronian government will give a context note saying that it's not fictional and that the Demichronian military will take care of the situation. The Demichronian government explains all that to the US government and (truthfully) denies any involvement with the 2001 attacks. However, the US government knows very well how the Demichronian media works, and it's not interested in reaching the truth but rather, manipulating the truth (by omission, which is extremely easy to do since the Demichronian media contains everything... just select what you like and remove the "fictional" label... those who do not know how Demichronian entertainment works will be very easily misled), and manipulating citizens into believing Demichronia is the enemy, and using all ammunition possible: and the Demichronian entertainment industry provides a pretty much unlimited amount of ammunition. Anti-USA propaganda (which exists in Demichronia alongside pro-USA propaganda and more nuanced or even neutral descriptions of the USA... even anti-Demichronia propaganda exists in Demichronia!) is reported in the USA, and used as even more ammunition to paint Demichronia as an enemy. This idea really makes the relationship between Gaia and Demichronia incredibly intriguing, and is the fuel for a lot more ideas that will expand the lore of this alternative world! I'll work more on this eventually!

Virtual reality experiences in Demichronia

This is a list of wishes not fulfillable in the real, physical world. Obviously, this list is not exhaustive (just like all other lists in this page), and it can never be, it'd literally be infinite! This list is inspired by a concept of a virtual or otherwise solipsistic reality where everyone can have whatever they want. That reality is called "Panchronia". What is it that one can wish? Of course the answer is: anything, but here I'll list a bunch of stuff, except what can be fulfilled in the "real" (non-virtual) Demichronia (which is listed elsewhere in this page).

Wishes that require torture, murder, abuse, immorality, or are physically or technologically unrealistic (as of 2025, at least) cannot be fulfilled in Demichronia, as it's either illegal or unfeasible. However, in Demichronia, these, including the immoral actions, can be "fulfilled" through a virtual headset, since the technology exists, though for now only with audio and video, without touch, smell or taste. Outside of the virtual reality, in a non-fictional environment, these wishes are either illegal or unfeasible. Other than in a virtual reality, these experiences can be "experienced" through other types of fictional media as well. As long as it's fictional, it's legal in Demichronia. Warning, some of the examples are really dark... it's to be expected, after all, since wishes that are not fulfillable in Demichronia are either really immoral, or fantasy-based. Of course, it goes without saying that you can also have simulations of legal, realistic wishes in a virtual headset, I just won't list them because otherwise it'd be redundant, since if they're legal and feasible I'll list them elsewhere in this page.
