Visus deorum ex hominibus: a theology that claims that gods exist regardless of human beliefs, but reality itself has four spatial dimensions, and gods do not exist in all coordinates along the w-axis (the fourth dimension), but only in some, whereas humans, animals, plants and all physical objects are "stretched" and exist in all coordinates of the w-axis simultaneously. According to this view, people who believe in gods are simply looking at the coordinates in the w-axis where gods exist, whereas atheists are looking at the coordinates in the w-axis where gods do not exist. Both groups of people are equally correct, they're just looking at different places in the fourth spatial dimension. According to this view, gods are "thinner" than physical things in terms of space they occupy in the fourth dimension.
Depictions of divinity. Since in Pangea everything is modular (including, among other things, cartoons), you can watch a translated version of Family Guy into the Pangean language. In Family Guy, there are scenes where the god of Christianity (Yahweh) is mocked or satirized. Even though officially speaking, Christianity forbids iconography, in Family Guy Yahweh is depicted as "an old man in the sky", an image popularized by the painting "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Because of the modularity of everything, however, every scene of every cartoon, game, book, movie etc. is designed to be easily swappable with anything else. So, for instance, let's say you're a conservative Christian living in Pangea (either born there or an immigrant, it's irrelevant), and you think Family Guy is generally funny but you don't want to see Yahweh being mocked. You can definitely watch Family Guy in Pangean language without those scenes. There are many ways to achieve this, one of those ways is to have some sort of "settings". Since every scene of every media in Pangea is tagged (to ensure good categorization and customization), if in the settings you have specified to hide any scene mocking or even just depicting Yahweh, those scenes are automatically removed. It's like using "display:none" in a custom CSS stylesheets to hide specific classes, elements, attributes or ID's (which you can also do in Pangea, of course! You can also do that in Gaia with Firefox, of course. Credits where it's due). Furthermore, Pangean animators constantly create alternative scenes for every scene of every cartoon, game, book, media etc. so, for instance, if you hate Allah, you can choose to swap the scenes mocking Yahweh with scenes mocking Allah. Or, say, you think the Family Guy scenes aren't offensive enough, and you really hate Yahweh: there are definitely cartoons (in general, but even alternative versions/fan-fictions of Family Guy if you want to see those characters specifically) where the scenes are much harsher. In Pangea, there are Christian/Islamic cartoons, as well as cartoons that mock Christianity and Islam, as well as cartoons that are neither (and of course, the vast majority of cartoons are neither, since the first two examples are highly specific things). However, let's say that you are a misotheist who wants to watch cartoons mocking an idea of "God" that isn't depicted as "an old man in the sky". In Pangea, there are misotheists/satire cartoons for every possible depiction of God you can image. Note that "God" here refers to "God and/or the gods", for brevity. In Pangea, every theology exists: atheism, monotheism, polytheism, pantheism, panentheism, deism, pandeism, panendeism etc. it's not limited to just atheism and monotheism, there is media for everything. Anyway, here are the possible depictions of God (or the gods) you can find in Pangea media, either neutrally, honoring the divine, mocking the divine etc. anything:
1: Old man in the sky (Michelangelo's view)
2: Old man under the ground (chthonic god)
3: Old woman in the sky (if monotheistic, it's a form of goddess monotheism)
4: Old woman under the ground (chthonic goddess)
5-8: Same as the first four but replace "old" with "young" (how young can also vary, of course, it's Pangea we're talking about here!)
9: Non-binary human-like depiction, with various ages, with various positions (sky, underground, etc.)
10: Human-like depiction, with various ages, various genders, but in the forest rather than the sky or under the ground.
11: Same as above but under water (e.g. under the ocean or a lake).
12: Animal-like depiction. It can be any animal, of course, but here are some examples, as well as some possible motivations sometimes (of course, any motivation is found in Pangean media, these below are merely some examples):
12.1: Dog.
12.2: Cat.
12.3: Cow.
12.3.1: The deity is depicted as a cow because (in some media), the cow is symbolized as a giver of milk, and therefore like a mother, or some sort of goddess (or male god, or neutral god... whatever, it's Pangea).
12.4: Pig.
12.5: Chicken.
12.6: Owl.
12.7: Eagle.
12.7.1: The deity is depicted as an eagle because it's associated with extreme vision: it represents omniscience.
12.8: Penguin.
12.9: Deer.
12.10: Skunk.
12.10.1: The deity is depicted as a skunk because of its ability to alter the environment in an extreme way. The skunk represents a sort of "omnipotence" over reality.
12.11: Ant.
12.11.1: In some media, the deity is depicted as an ant because the ant colony seems to be its own entity, separate from the individual ant. Some pantheist media argues an ant colony represents God and the ant represents an individual object or person. Some media refuses to make a distinction between the ant and the ant colony, arguing that an ant colony is simply just a giant ant, in the same way as a human society is (in some media) considered as simply a giant human, known by different names, such as "Colossus", "Demos", or some other name.
12.12: Fish.
12.13: Shark.
12.14: Dolphin.
12.15: Parrot.
12.15.1: The deity is depicted as a parrot because a parrot can mimick human language, and sometimes even understand and use it properly (like in the case of Alex the Parrot in the United States), so the parrot represents the Logos, which some Pangean media considers divine (to be fair, everything in Pangea has some media considering it divine, even cannibalism or non-consensual mutilation, as well as pantheist media that considers everything to be divine, so the Logos is not unique in that characteristic).
12.16: Sheep.
12.17: Goat.
12.18: Fly.
12.19: Mosquito.
12.20: Worm.
12.21: Praying mantis.
12.22: Spider.
12.23: Lion.
12.23.1: The deity is depicted as a lion because the lion is an apex predator, which represents strength and dominance.
12.24: Bear.
12.25: Bee.
12.26: Zebra.
12.27: Giraffe.
12.28: Elephant.
12.29: Wolf.
12.30: Boar.
13: God is a giant, glowing sphere rotating on its axis.
13.1: And we're all inside of it.
13.1.1: And part of it.
13.1.2: Inside of it but not part of it.
13.2: And this sphere exists outside of the Universe's space-time continuum, it's more metaphysical.
14: God is depicted as a circle.
14.1: With a dot in the center.
14.2: Without a dot in the center.
15: God is depicted as a monstrous beast.
16: God is depicted as a tree.
17: God is depicted as a volcano.
18: God is depicted as food.
18.1: Bread.
18.2: Fruit/vegetables.
18.3: Legumes.
18.4: Cereals.
18.5: Meat.
18.6: Milk.
18.7: Eggs.
18.8: A futuristic sci-fi artificial food in form of a pill that you swallow and it gives you all nutrients based on what you currently need.
Other ideologies:
1: Logos worship. A religion that worships the Logos (the ability to think/speak with verbal language) as a deity. Other deities may or may not exist, so it can be monotheistic or henotheistic, but the Logos is the center of the worship. The media promoting this religion and the live speeches praise and express gratitude towards the ability to speak, mentioning the advance of human civilization, technology and comfort as clear gifts from the Logos. As usual, however, there is media in Pangea against this idea: some say that the ability to speak has nothing to do with divinity, and some say it's a bad thing to be able to speak, that non-human animals are superior and "uncorrupted" because they can't communicate verbally. Some media argues that the ability to speak is a curse inflicted upon humankind by an evil entity, in order to corrupt human souls. Likewise, since every idea in Pangea is modular, every idea can be inserted into any ideology/religion. As such, there are also some modular Christians/Muslims that say that the Logos is a curse inflicted by Satan (the adversary), and that true purity is only found in physical objects, plants, non-human animals, and non-verbal humans, and that the very rare cases of kids raised by wolves in the wilderness, who did not develop the ability to speak, are free from Satan's curse, and are therefore pure Christians/Muslims, and that the entire humankind should become like that. Of course, by definition, the Logos worshippers reject the idea that the ability to speak is evil or a curse. Instead, they view it as a gift from a deity, or a deity itself, or the main deity, or the only deity that exists etc.
2: Thermoracism. A form of either discrimination and/or superiority (the two are somewhat related but not the same thing) based on the temperatures of either someone's place of birth or residency (different forms of thermoracism have different characteristics, as expected in Pangea). Any temperature pattern can be considered "superior" or "inferior": cold climates, hot climates, stable climates, continental climates etc. nothing is spared from being "superior" or "inferior". Another form of superiority/discrimination, apart from thermoracism, is altitude-based superiority/discrimination. Some media in Pangea claim that people coming from very high elevations are "superior", whereas others claim the opposite: that people living at sea level are the most "superior" or "natural" (in a good way) ones.
3: Natural disasters are the revenge of the ghosts of the people who were mistreated during their lives.
4: Multiculturalism provides safety from the High Archons. This idea is based on Metanomism (check Part 1, Section 12.23 to learn more), where High Archons are said to be entities such as, if too many people believe in them/worship them (the exact details depend on the interpretation, as usual), those entities will gain sufficient power to rule over humans without any human intermediary. High Archons differ from Middle Archons such as Yahweh or Allah (the deities from Christianity and Islam respectively), because Middle Archons only rule through human intermediaries: in Islamic countries, it's humans who kill gay people, not Allah himself. Some Pangean media claims, however, that Middle Archons can become High Archons if too many people believe/worship them, and therefore, multiculturalism serves as a safety mechanism against giving too much power to Archons. Some other media, however, claims that Middle Archons can never become high Archons, and that even if everyone on Earth was Muslim, Allah would still be unable to rule directly. Some other media says it's true that Middle Archons can become High Archons, but that it's a good thing if they do, because then the Archon can rule directly (which is a good thing according to some media), and therefore monoculturalism should be promoted for that reason. If the Archon wants to exterminate the entire human species, then that means humankind deserved that, according to some media.
5: Digital minimalism/maximalism. Digital minimalism says that one should use technology (especially computers, laptops etc.) as less as possible, whereas digital maximalism says the opposite, that one should use technology as much as possible. It's not a binary thing, but more like a spectrum. The most extreme digital minimalist media says that one should never use the Internet, whereas the most extreme digital maximalists say that one should be using the Internet as much as possible, the entire free time, even while asleep (some media says that there are "benefits" in listening to music or podcasts with earphones while asleep).
6: Chromatic purity religions complaining about schools. For instance, media that says that the only color allowed for a pen is blue, and complaining and expressing shock and outrage at the fact that schools even allow pens of other colors to be used. They say something like "how dare some filthy humans to violate divine laws so shamelessly? Who do they think they are? They think they have authority, but only God (or the gods, depending on the media) has authority, and the law is clear: ink to write should exclusively be blue! Shame on our country for allowing such evil, the kids going at schools all over our country are being corrupted, their souls are being destroyed by non-blue pens. We shouldn't tolerate this. Resist evil!". This is merely one example, though, chromatic purity religions can say all sorts of stuff about the "correct" use of colors.
7: Seek and Destroy. An ideology that says foreign countries do things better than Pangea because they do something called "Seek and Destroy", that is, seeking for certain categories of people, which vary by country but can be gay people, dissidents, National Socialits ("Nazis"), people who sell cannabis, sex workers, atheists, polytheists, Christians, Muslims, Falun Gong, Milah Abraham, fascists, Satanists etc. and then destroying those people, their job and their organization. This ideology says that "Seek and Destroy" is a great thing to do, and that the Pangean government is "oppressive" for not letting people do the same thing, and this ideology says that the Pangean government is too focused on creation and "addition" (adding options) instead of destruction and "subtraction" (removing options), and that foreign countries understand the importance of destruction much better than Pangea does. A theistic follower of "Seek and Destroy" may (or may not) worship a deity of destruction, or follow an anti-cosmic theology.
8: An ideology that says that foreign countries are ruled by "usurpers" who have taken over those lands, whereas only Pangea has the "true laws". There is media that warns that if one lets certain groups to take over the laws, "Pangea will become like those countries". There is also media that says foreign countries are much better than Pangea and that therefore, it would be a good thing if usurpers rose to power and destroyed the current Pangean system. Other media says "it'd be good if usurpers rose to power but there'd still be problems, it wouldn't be perfect by far", other media says "it'd be bad if usurpers rose to powers but it wouldn't be a tragedy: people adapt!", and other media who express total indifference to either outcome. Other media says that it's not true that "usurpers" have taken over other countries, they say that "each country simply has their own laws, that's it". The official truth does not comment on who is right here, as it's merely a matter of abstract interpretation.
9: An ideology that says one's thoughts should be as deep and complex as possible but then, when communicating with other people, those complex thoughts must be "translated" into a simple sentence or explanation while trying to preserve, as much as possible, at least the essential part of the original meaning of that thought, even though much will get "lost in translation".
10: A text, targeted at people living above around 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level, saying something like "Are you feeling out of breath after just a few minutes of biking? This is NOT normal! This happens because you live at a very high elevation. Your city is lying to you, making it seems normal to be out of breath so quickly, but it only seems normal to you because it's the life you always lived and you could never compare it to anything else! If you went to sea level, you'd be able to bike and exercize much harder, better, faster, stronger! You'll feel so energic and you can say goodbye to any headache! Reject your city's lies, embrace the oxygen: travel to sea level and you'll feel like a superhero!".
11: A text, targeted at people living at sea level who want "motivation" or a "challenge" or something, saying something like "Do you feel like your life is too easy and pointless? Do you want a real challenge? A real struggle? Travel to a city above 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level! The lower oxygen will make physical exercize more difficult, just what you need to feel really proud of yourself! Go visit our gym in [name of the high altitude city], and prove your strength to the world! Are you brave enough to take the challenge?".
12: Wiccan Theocracy. More details may be coming one day.
13: Athermism: the belief that temperature scales don't exist.
14: Monothermism: the belief that only one temperature scale exists. Which one varies depending on the monothermist ideology.
15: Antithermism: opposition against temperature scales: temperatures should NEVER be measured, for any reason! Thermometers must be banned, and possession of thermometers must be punished. The more moderate antithermists suggest jail for the possession of thermometers, whereas the extremists suggest capital punishment. Weather channels are allowed if and only if they don't report temperatures and don't say "warm" or "cold": they can only say if it's sunny, rainy, snowy, windy, foggy etc. but they are forbidden from telling the temperature. In Pangea, there are in fact antithermist or antithermism-compliant weather channels (a huge amount of them with different aesthetics and such, but of course, there is also a huge amount of non-antithermism compliant weather channels with different aesthetics, obviously lol, pretty much everything in Pangea is available with a huge amount of different aesthetics), where they report on the weather but without telling the temperature, neither the number nor using words like "hot", "warm" or "cold". There is also media that complains about the existence of weather channels that displays temperature and calls for its ban. Some thermist media, on the other hand, rejects the idea of banning temperature scales and mentions of cold and heat, citing "thermic freedom" as a right so fundamental that "even most foreign countries, with the sole exception of Sudhurland, allow mentions of temperatures. Even the most tyrannical governments in the world allow temperature to be measured and mentioned. Even Pakistan and North Korea have weather channels that freely mention temperatures without shame or persecution. If even those brutal tyrannies allow temperatures, why shouldn't we? Thermic freedom is a fundamental, universally recognized right, and taking it away from people would be devastating.". In Pangea, literally everything is a matter of debate: for everything you can imagine, there is media of people debating it. Some (not all, of course) antithermist media claims that thermists "want to stick a thermometer up other people's asses without their consent, they're disgusting, that's why thermometers and mentions of temperatures must be banned!". As expected, responses to that claim vary within Pangean media.
16: Henothermism: the belief that multiple temperature scales exist but only one should be used. This approach is in some sense common in Gaia, as most countries use Celsius, whereas the USA uses Fahrenheit. Some versions of henothermism say that multiple temperature scales exist but only one is the true one.
17: Polythermism: the belief that multiple temperature scales exist.
18: Panthermism: the belief that everything has a temperature, and therefore its temperature can be measured. Love, death, abstract concepts, mathematics, geometrical figures, emotions, ideologies etc. also have a temperature that can be measured, according to panthermism.
19: Misothermism: hatred towards temperature scales.
20: Dysthermism: the belief that temperature scales are evil.
21: The polyanthroi. These are entities that correspond to groups of people. An example of a polyanthros is Demos, the collective of an entire society. Democracy, in this view, is a theocracy, the rule of Demos. Other than Demos, there are also other groups, that can correspond to cultures, ideologies, fandoms etc. some media says that polyanthroi always existed and will always exist, and that when humans form groups, the corresponding polyanthros simply absorbs all the humans in those groups into itself, temporarily (or permanently, in some more extreme cases) erasing individuality. Other media says that the polyanthroi form in the moment human groups form, and cease to exist when the group disbands (e.g. according to those latter media, the polyanthros associated with the ancient Roman senate no longer exists). Some media says it's a good thing to be absorbed by a polyanthros, some media says it's a bad thing, some say it has pros and cons, and some says it's an in-between. If one wants to avoid/seek (depending on the media) being absorbed by a polyanthros, one should avoid/seek identifying with a group, ethnicity, a fandom, or an ideology (religious, political, philosophical, artistic, a mix etc. it doesn't matter) and not only that, but also identifying with the set of all people belonging to the group. Some media says that polyanthroi are parasytes that absorb humans' psychic energies, whereas some other media says that polyanthroi give psychic energies to humans, making societies and groups stronger and more coordinated.
22: Luna Hedonia: a goddess/idea/abstract concept/etc. (depending on the media) whose "worship/following/etc." consists in indulging in sensorial pleasures without limit during Full Moon, practicing asceticism during New Moon, gradually increasing one's indulgence during waxing moon and gradually decreasing it during waning moon. Of course, as with any other deity or idea, there are temples dedicated to Luna Hedonia, where people indulge in limitless pleasure during Full Moon (you can also have sex with a Luna Hedonia priest or priestess during Full Moon, there are dedicated workers for that!), and during New Moon the people in the temple simply sit in silence doing nothing, to purify their souls, and indulge in pleasures again during Full Moon.
23: In Pangea, since killing people is illegal, but the Bible says that gay people should be put to death, some media says that "a true Christian should pay to see a fake execution of gay people at least once a month, in order to honor the divine laws without violating the laws of the land (Pangea)!", and there is media of Christian priests actively promoting that idea. For every religion that promotes killing people (e.g. Murdakism, which promotes killing people wearing yellow t-shirts), there is media promoting fake executions to "honor divine laws without violating the laws of the land".
24: Tigrefoproveletoslena: a religion(?) (in Pangea, every idea has theistic and non-theistic versions, so the distinction between religion and non-religious ideology is very fuzzy, unlike in Gaia) or ideology that mandates strict veganism, forbids eating green food (like green apples, broccoli or spinach) and requires washing your teeth with lemon toothpaste and sleeping naked. Just like literally every worldview in Pangea, Tigrefoproveletoslena has schisms, too! One example of a schism is that one side says that if a food contains an ingredient that is originally green but the resulting food is not green and does not have any green part (e.g. a yellow vegan burger that contains a lot of different ingredients, such as spinach, but it was mixed in such a way that the spinach blended into the other ingredients and there is no green part in that vegan burger at all), then you can eat it, whereas there is another side that says that even if the food itself is not green, but contains an ingredient that was originally green, then you can't eat it.
1: Regarding Halloween in Pangea. It's not illegal in Pangea to knock on random people's doors to do "trick or treat", but it's generally discouraged, and also, only an [UNDEFINED] percent of the Pangean population celebrates Halloween, so knocking on random people's doors is not what is generally done. Instead, in order to celebrate Halloween in Pangea, there a few interesting workarounds. In Pangea, one can go to an information center and request their house to be added to a database of "Halloween celebrators" (and of course, they can remove their house from that list at any moment, too). That list is publicly accessible, so that people who want to go knock on people's doors for Halloween can go to an information center, request that list and then go to such houses. That is an interaction between matchers. However, there are also Halloween streets: thematic areas with Halloween decorations and aesthetics everywhere, and where people go in costumes and knock on the doors of specific buildings (they're not actually houses, but they look like houses) where workers go to give candies to the people who knock there. Yes, that's their entire gamma. Furthermore, because free time gives people the sensorial experience they want, any festivity can be celebrate in any date in Pangea. There are also Christmas streets etc. these kinds of thematic areas are always decorated like that, so one can celebrate Christmas in April and Halloween in August, but outside of the correct dates, there are very few to none customers, so the only people are a few workers who remain even outside of the correct dates just to give a guarantee of being able to experience the festivity in any day. So the atmosphere may be a little more, "lonely", due to there being much less people organically, but the workers nonetheless still try to create the original atmosphere in order to please the customers who request the festivity outside of the correct dates.
2: If you want to be at a metal concert but don't like mosh-pits, there are always "still areas" somewhere in the crowd area, so you can listen to the metal music live without having to participate in the mosh pit. Of course, there are always also areas for mosh pits, in case you want to participate in one.
3: You can pay to watch someone (either a worker or someone in their free time, but the worker is guaranteed to exist) spray paint a wall. If you have no talent to create graffiti and you don't just want to see the graffiti already done, you can pay to see the process. Of course, said walls exist specifically to be spray painted, either by customers who want to spray paint a wall, or by workers whose gamma is to spray paint walls, either to be watched while doing it, or just provide some portions of the city (thematic areas) with a graffiti aesthetics. Spray painting a wall that is not made specifically for this purpose is vandalism and it's illegal in Pangea.
4: A luna park with various attractions. You can buy pop corn and cotton candy outdoors and indoors, and some attractions are about illusionist tricks. You can also pay for quick courses of basic illusionist tricks at the luna park, although illusionist tricks are also a subject at school, but if you're an adult and didn't learn them at school because you were too busy with other subjects, you can always learn them elsewhere, including (but not limited to) at the luna park. There are also roller coasters, "haunted houses", amusement rides, bumper cars, carnival shooting games and much more!
5: There are thematic areas (in pretty much every city... Pangean cities are pretty much more or less all the same, mostly what changes is the climate and therefore the vegetation) with chrome grey, semi-reflective surfaces, both on the ground, buildings, streetlights and outdoor benches, that give a specific type of futuristic/sci-fi aesthetics. You can also pay for actors to give a public speech (within the thematic area) regarding some sort of fictional sci-fi event that one is roleplaying, or alternatively, a speech about a real event but dressed in sci-fi terminology. There are workers whose gamma (job) is specifically "sci-fi social interactions/roleplay within sci-fi thematic areas". Of course, since the gamma has low variation, different types of sci-fi social interactions are handled by different sci-fi workers. For instance, there are also sci-fi sex workers, where you get sexual services from people (girls, guys, non-binary, whatever you want...) dressed in sci-fi clothings and can give you whatever sci-fi scenario you want. For instance, you can request a roleplay where in a futuristic sci-fi society, human population is low, and you were called to repopulate the Earth. Of course, it's fictional, and it's illegal to get a worker pregnant in Pangea, because pregnancy symptoms carry on during free time as well, and also, because pregnancy means that in nine months, she will give birth. Since giving birth is not a job, it would happen during free time, but it would happen because of something that occurred during work time, so it's illegal in Pangea. However, as long as you wear a condom, having sex with a worker is totally legal in Pangea! Another sci-fi sex scenario you can request is that you two are doing it secretly, because the sci-fi futuristic society is dystopian and anti-sexuality. But then again, you can request literally any scenario. Even if the scenario involves someone getting hurt, you can still request it, but of course the people "getting hurt" are just pretending to, it's just like watching a movie but in real life. Again, since the gamma (job role) is narrow, the "normal" sci-fi social interaction workers won't have sex with you, the sci-fi sex workers won't do sci-fi outdoor speeches, and so on. Each worker does their own thing. In the sci-fi thematic areas, just like in all thematic areas, there are also "normal" services, like cinemas, restaurants etc. but of course they have a sci-fi aesthetics even indoors, at least in the side of the building that faces the thematic area. The other side of the building (which you don't see directly if you're in the sci-fi part, since it's behind a door) likely faces the Tranzit and has a standard aesthetics.
6: A park/garden full of flowers, and where on the ground and walls there are hearts and cute drawings, and everything is colorful. You can also buy helium balloons. But to be fair, you can buy helium balloons literally in every aesthetics. Things are modular in Pangea, so a specific activity is not limited by aesthetics. You can buy helium balloons in thematic areas that look like a radioactive fallout post-apocalyptic zone (and those thematic areas of course do exist in Pangea!).
7: In Pangea, in order to be 100% sure that you don't see what you don't want to see in a supermarket, you can simply request items, then you return the next day (or even a few hours later, depending on the queue and various things) and a worker (some sort of cashier but not exactly) will give you what you requested in a bag. You pay for those items as well as a very small extra for that worker's job, you take those items and leave, without ever having to see something you don't want to see. The bag can be given to you either directly at your home or you go to a specific part of that supermarket. The supermarket itself offers the service.
8: In Pangea, if one believes to be (or is, I'd rather stay neutral about these things) living in a haunted house, one can call "ghostbusters", who will remove the ghosts from that person's house. The official truth is silent about whether such things are "real" or not, and there are several researchers in Pangea researching about ghosts and the paranormal in general, hoping to find any information to prove or disprove it. Only then will the official truth speak about it. At most, the official truth just says "research in progress".
9: Shopping cart rides. You can sit inside a shopping cart and then pay a worker (whose specific gamma is that) to drive you around specifically built "shopping cart tracks", either indoors or outdoors, depending on your preferences and the weather. It can be a fun and silly experience.
10: You can see construction workers building buildings with a crane. You don't have to pay for that, you can just stare and watch.
11: A cartoon about a kid (and since Pangean media is modular, the kid's name or hell, even the gender, varies depending on the version!) living in Tubiv, 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level. He's fascinated by illusionist tricks and often pays (with the money he earns at school) to go to a circus/luna park where an illusionist plays his tricks. He's so fascinated by that and he also pays to learn about those tricks. The illusionist tricks teacher (a different person from the illusionist, which only plays tricks in front of an audience rather than teaching it, but this teacher works also in the same circus/luna park) chuckles and says "kid, are you sure you want to learn them? It won't feel the same anymore once you do". The kid insists, pays the teacher and then the teacher teaches illusionist tricks to the kid. He spends the vast majority of his free time in this circus/luna park. Other than watching and learning illusionist tricks, he also goes to amusement rides, plays carnival shooting games, and other circus/luna park related things. So, his life is mostly school + circus/luna park. Something he also does in his free time sometimes is to ride a bycicle to go visit her aunt and uncle. It's about 5 minutes of bicycle ride away, but he feels out of breath when he arrives. He thinks that is perfectly normal, but one day, the geography teacher casually mentioned that at sea level there's more oxygen, and that physical activity is easier there. The kid wanted to learn more, so he went to a library, asked a book about the topic to the librarian, and one of the first pages had an travel ad, saying: "Are you feeling out of breath after just a few minutes of biking? This is NOT normal! This happens because you live at a very high elevation. Your city is lying to you, making it seems normal to be out of breath so quickly, but it only seems normal to you because it's the life you always lived and you could never compare it to anything else! If you went to sea level, you'd be able to bike and exercize much harder, better, faster, stronger! You'll feel so energic and you can say goodbye to any headache! Reject your city's lies, embrace the oxygen: travel to sea level and you'll feel like a superhero!". The kid checked the official truth, and it confirmed that tone aside, the information itself is true: at sea level there is more oxygen, so it takes much longer to feel out of breath there. The kid asked his parents for a trip to Vinur but they said they didn't have enough money for that. So, when the kid turned 18, at his last year of high school, during the winter school holidays he went to Vinur by plane. When he landed there, the air was relatively warm: Vinur's winters are like early spring in Tubiv. When he breathed the air at sea level, he felt like his lungs were flooded with oxygen, he did feel very energic! 'That text was right!', he thought, happily, and he bought a bike at a store and tried biking in Vinur: he could bike much longer, much faster, much better, and it took him way, way longer to feel out of breath! He thought 'wow, people living at sea level are lucky! The air is so amazing here!'. He stayed in Vinur for a few days, sleeping at a hotel, and then he returned to Tubiv. When he returned to Tubiv, he got a mild headache (due to the altitude) and thought 'my entire life was a lie... this feeling is not normal... it's the altitude... so much potential wasted...' and the story, typical of Pangea, either ends there or doesn't, depending on the version. In Pangea, an ending in a story is never necessarily an ending, as for every story, there is media that continues it, in every possible way. For example, in Pangea, there is media telling stories of Little Red Riding Hood where wolves get their revenge and brutally kill her (the protagonist). Or any other continuation you can imagine.
12: In Pangea, there are songs, in any genre imaginable, whose lyrics are basically the text of school subjects. These songs exist, well, first of all because of the alpha (the sensorial experience of a customer must be as close as possible to their wishes, if they pay for it), but these songs are also very useful because people remember song lyrics very well, since they listen to the songs multiple times, so these songs help students remember things better for the tests. Of course, because of the alpha, there are many of these types of songs that contain false information, so one has to check for the "official truth: approved" symbol on the CD or the digital website, once you've checked it, you'll be able to remember school subjects texts much better. Since everyone has different musical preferences, these songs are in any genre imaginable: pop, rock, punk, emo, metal, swing, 1950's pop, gangsta rap, techno, crunkcore, bubblegum pop, tribal folk music, opera, trap, reggae, reggaeton, industrial etc. anything, really. It's kinda like the song "Alexander the Great" by Iron Maiden but much better, much more detailed, and in any genre you can imagine, and for literally every subject (history, geography, biology, philosophy, psychology, agriculture, plumbing... anything, really!).
13: In Pangea, there are buses with massage chairs that you can turn on by inserting a coin in it.
14: In Pangea, you can pay for a hug. There are buildings made for that, but it's also available outdoors in pretty much all aesthetic areas. "All aesthetic areas" is a bit different from "all thematic areas", because some thematic areas may include rules, e.g. Sharia street, Nazi street or conservative Christianity street, which may have some restrictions. However, for every thematic area with restriction, there's an "aesthetic only" area about that, e.g. "aesthetic only Saudi area", "aesthetic only Nazi street", "aesthetic only conservative Christianity street" etc. which have no behavioral restrictions. You can know if there are people who sell hugs because there's a sign and a small outdoor market with some people who work there, you pay and you get a hug from who you want (among that group of hug workers). One hug is pretty cheap in Pangea.
15: In Pangea, there are outdoor markets for most things (except for things that spoil very quickly outdoors). You can buy shoes, fruit, phones etc. outdoors, in all aesthetic areas.
16: There are nudist and textilist areas of all aesthetics. The Tranzit is textilist (you must wear clothings there, you can't go around naked in the Tranzit).
17: Luna Park professional companion. You can pay for a worker whose gamma is specifically keeping company at a Luna Park. They can keep you company while walking around, play with you at carnival shooting games (though of course you have to pay for their ticket too), and that's the cheaper version. There's also a more expensive version of professional Luna Park companion, where the companion will go with you on amusement rides. It's more expensive because going on amusement rides (especially fast or tall ones) can be stressful to do as a job every day, so those workers are specifically the ones that are medically proven to be the least sensitive to that type of experience (or even better, those who actually enjoy it very much, if available). They are more expensive, sure, but still affordable, unless you go to the Luna Park every day or something. But once in a while they are perfectly affordable. Of course, if you pay for a professional Luna Park companion, you have to pay for their ticket (of the amusement rides, circus shows, carnival shooting games etc.), but that's the same logic as a professional friend who'll keep you company at a restaurant: you have to pay not only for their company but also for their meal.
18: Fake illegal sci-fi stores: stores where you can buy everything you can buy at normal stores, but with a sci-fi aesthetics and a background lore that explicitly states that the "sentinels" are actively hunting down this store because it operates illegally and sells illegal goods, and that the owners of the store must be very careful. There are some corners of the store where actors, dressed in a cyberpunk way, make a passionate speech (that one can listen to if one goes to that corner of the store) regarding "freedom" and "rebellion against the sentinels".
19: If one wants to enter a building that contains no carpet at all (for whatever reason), technically speaking Pangea doesn't guarantee that a building doesn't have a carpet anywhere inside it, it just removes it from your sight, using walls, geometric angles etc. however, there is some sort of "loophole" that guarantees you can enter a building without any carpet in it! In Pangea, there are completely empty, small building that you can enter. These are guaranteed because they are small enough that you can see the entirety of them within a single eyesight. They're basically small, empty rooms. They are guaranteed because if you want to see an empty room, you should be allowed to pay to enter exactly that. Your visual experience is satisfied, and through this "loophole", you can pay to enter an empty building without any carpet, and you can do anything there, you can pay for workers to bring you food there and eat there, etc. so someone who follows the "no carpets" religion in a way so strict that they can't enter a building if there's a carpet anywhere in it has some ways to practice it, even though even in Pangea following a religion like that is still gonna have a non-negligible amount of friction, due to the demand that something ought not to exist in a building even when you're not looking at it. Pangea guarantees sensorial experiences, not necessarily "authentic situations". Some (but not all) authentic situations can be achieved through smart wording of the wish or smart logic, though.
20: Growl karaoke: a karaoke full of metal songs with growling. Genres are often death metal, black metal, melodic death metal, folk metal etc.
21: Carnivals of all kinds, of all aesthetics (in some thematic areas, obviously, not in the Tranzit).
22: In Pangea, there are public squares (in some thematic areas, not in the Tranzit).
23: Skate parks (same as above).
24: Evil fairies LARP. A LARP where evil fairies are taking over the world, and a group of humans (either workers or matchers, depending how many people want to play this LARP) discusses how to deal with the situation.
25: You can look at foreign paintings, like the Mona Lisa, in museums. Of course, they're just copies, but it doesn't matter, because to your eyes it looks the same as the real one.
Which is better?
1: Solitude.
1.1: Because solitude is the true, "ancient" state of humans. Socializing, especially (but not only) in huge, modern cities, is unnatural (and therefore bad).
1.1.1: Language is unnatural and therefore bad.
1.1.2: Language is ok, you learn it from your parents and some other people while you're very young, but once you learn how to speak, use it to think to yourself and observe, and interact as less as possible with other people. Socializing is only good as a very young person, to learn how to speak. Once you learn language (which is the only reason you should socialize), stop interacting with other people, unless it's absolutely necessary.
1.2: Because ideas are contagious, and so if you interact with people too much, the folly of the masses will infect you.
1.2.1: Interacting with people who either agree with you or who have "intelligent" beliefs/way of thinking is ok/good, because those people are not infected with the folly of the masses, so they can't infect you.
1.2.2: Even interacting with people who have "intelligent" belief/way of thinking is bad, because if you do interact with them, you're offloading your critical thinking skills to those people, so while you may get infected with their beliefs (which is not necessarily a bad thing), all the thinking required to arrive at those beliefs will be absent in your mind, which will cause intellectual atrophy. So, stay alone as much as possible.
1.3: Because socialization puts you at risk of developing an addiction to affection, leaving you vulnerable to emotional manipulation through "friendship withdrawal", e.g. "if you don't do X, I won't be your friend anymore". Solitude is a way to prevent this addiction from forming in the first place.
1.4: The idea that "humans are social animals" is false, and it's just a distortion caused by urban, sedentary lifestyles, and does not reflect humans' true nature. Not only the idea that "humans are social animals" is false, but it also causes a nocebo effect, making one feel bad for being alone, but the bad feeling is only caused by the belief that solitude is harmful.
1.4.1: The true nature of human beings is of solitary animals. Coerced interaction, like when humans started interacting with each other and forming cities, has brought wars, slavery, violence, torture, and horrible things. The 21st century is comparatively mild, but conflict in human interaction is omnipresent specifically because it's against our nature: humans are solitary animals by nature, they suffer when interacting and thrive in solitude.
1.5: Socializing is bad because it attracts polyanthroi, parasytic entities that represent groups of people and absorb human beings' psychic energies and erase any individuality. How strict this view is depends on the interpretation: some views say that socializing 1-on-1 is ok but being part of a group (e.g. a nation, religion, fandom, ideology, subculture etc.) is bad because then the polyanthroi will become extremely aggressive. The strictest interpretations say that even 1-on-1 social interactions are bad, because it's a "gateway for summoning a polyanthros". It's not necessarily bad by itself but it can lead to more severe socialization, the one that summons a polyanthros who'll absorb the humans' individuality. As with everything else, there is debate in Pangea as to whether 1-on-1 social interactions are okay, or if they bring the risk of accidentally summoning a polyanthros. Some say "yes, 1-on-1 interactions are ok, polyanthroi are only summoned when interacting with identitarian groups like nations, ideologies, subcultures, fandoms, religions etc.", some say "no, it's too dangerous", some say "yes, but with caution. Here are some ways to socialize 1-on-1 without summoning a polyanthros: [tutorial]", some say that "1-on-1 interactions do summon a polyanthros: more specifically, a duoanthros. However, duoanthroi are so weak (because they can't absorb nowhere near the amount of psychic energies to properly sustain themselves) that they're completely harmless, they can't do anything with that low amount of psychic energies, so 1-on-1 interactions are fine, unless that person wants you to adopt a certain religion or be part of a large group, then in that case, you must strictly refuse, as you'd summon a powerful polyanthros that will absorb your psychic energies, erase your individuality and wreak havoc on the world", some say other things etc.
2: Socialization.
2.1: Only with matchers.
2.2: Only with professional friends.
2.3: With matchers it's better but with professional friends it's also ok.
2.4: With professional friends it's better but with matchers it's also ok.
2.5: Either is fine.
2.6: Only with a specific type of people, those that you like. Being alone is better than socializing with people you don't like.
2.7: Socializing with people you don't like is still better than being alone.
2.8: Socializing is good because it brings entertainment.
2.9: Socializing is good because it brings "connection".
2.10: Socializing is good because it brings you new information (even if not necessarily true information), as well as a better understanding of human psychology.
2.11: Socializing is good because you can use other people as tools for your own benefit.
2.12: Socializing is good because it summons polyanthroi, which are overall a positive force in the world. Ideally, the best social interactions are those when you identify as a follower of a religion (the larger the religion, the better, because the polyanthros associated with it is stronger), a political ideology, a nation (there are Pangean nationalists in Pangea, or at least in media and as paid companions, and as usual, Pangean nationalism can take any form you can imagine... there is some media that says "We are proud to be Pangean, because it's a country based on hugs! Without hugs, Pangea would not exist") etc. in this view, humans should provide as much energy to polyanthroi as possible, to let them improve the world. In this view, polyanthroi are seen as mostly benevolent, sometimes a bit confused (e.g. when a polyanthros based on a religion or political ideology kills millions of people and tortures human beings), but ultimately well-intentioned. Some media says "polyanthroi care about the benefits of human beings, they just make mistakes, like human being do, but they have done a lot of good things for us, so please, keep feeding them (with our psychic energies)!"
3: A mix of both.
4: Neither is "better", each choice has different characteristics, which may have pros and cons.
Aesthetics of solitude and socialization.
Aesthetics of solitude (voluntary):
1: An aesthetics of solitude that is vaguely "religious Eastern Asian", e.g. a Buddhist monk retreating in solitude.
2: Mountain hermit.
3: Forest hermit.
3.1: Subarctic forest (e.g. Alaska, Siberia) hermit, living in a hut and hunting to survive.
3.2: Tropical rainforest hermit.
3.3: Temperate forest hermit.
4: Savannah hermit.
5: Solitary witch who lives in the outskirts of a city, maybe in some strange forest or isolated area, away from other houses.
5.1: She rejects all social interactions.
5.1.1: And silently observes the city from afar.
5.1.2: She does not observe other people, preferring her house, the plants and her forest.
5.2: She never seeks social interaction but accepts it if someone needs advice from her specifically. She's solitary but helpful if one asks for her help.
6: Stereotypical modern "Stoic/philosopher" who rejects all social interaction in pursuit of knowledge and philosophy.
7: Solitary scientist.
8: Solitary "book worm".
9: Solitary mad scientist who experiments with crazy stuff.
10: Anime/videogame nerd who finds anime and videogames much more enjoyable than talking to people.
10.R: However, some Pangean media says that this is not "true solitude", because by watching anime and playing videogames, or even reading books, your mind is being filled with other people's ideas, lowering your mental independence. Some "solitude purists" say that the only books you should ever read are those written by yourself, and that reading thigs wrtten by others, or watching anime or playing videogames leads to "mental atrophy" because "you're offloading your critical thinking skills to other people, it doesn't matter if you're not interacting with them directly, you're interacting with their ideas! That can still put you at risk of ideological contagion! That's how propaganda works, after all".
10.1: With some exceptions, that is, some people may be interesting enough to talk to, especially if they share common interests.
10.2: With no exceptions. Refuses all social interaction.
11: Desert hermit.
Aesthetics of socialization:
1: Strongly identitarian groups with strict rules (and intentionally difficult to follow) created with the purpose of demarcating between "us" and "them". Some examples in Gaia are Christianity (with the exception of some unorthodox forms of Christianity that follow Jesus but not Yahweh, not necessarily Gnostic though, just Jesus-followers), Islam, Confucianism, Scientology, Judaism etc. but of course, in Pangea there are such groups (or at least, you can buy actors who'll simulate such group if no "organic" community exists) for literally everything you can think of. For instances, there are groups (real or acted, or depicted in media... "real" is the only option not guaranteed but acted and depicted in media are guaranteed) that are strict vegans but also don't eat foods with green color (e.g. broccoli, green apples, pears, spinach etc.) because green is a "dirty" color and corrupts one's soul, they go to sleep naked, and only wash their teeth using a lemon-flavored toothpaste, because "the lack of lemon flavor in the toothpaste curses one's home with evil energies". If one disobeys to their rules, they are considered a "them", and therefore a really, really bad person. Since in Pangea during free time you can mostly do what you want (sort of), some people may crave arbitrary rules to follow, and not only that, they may crave the idea that, because they follow those arbitrary rules, they are "part of a group". They are "us", not "them". This is one form of social interaction, and of course, it can have varying aesthetics as well. For instance, such group described earlier can have a steampunk aesthetics, even if the rules themselves or the reasons given for those rules have nothing to do with steampunk whatsoever. It's purely aesthetics for aesthetics' sake. Any group/ideology can have any aesthetics in Pangea.
2: Barbie-like social groups that paints their nails, discuss about clothings, bags, attractive guys and go eat cakes or drink tea with friends.
3: Occult-like (or with occult aesthetics), "philosophers" group that claims to be "part of the few" that "understand how the world works". They discuss philosophy and fringe ideas, but can talk about other things if they get bored of philosophy.
More coming soon.
Social minimalism, social maximalism, and things in-between: social minimalism is the idea of minimizing social relationships, ideally not interacting with anyone at all. Social maximalism is the idea of interacting with people as much as possible. In-between values are self-explanatory. The reasons for these ideas can vary.
Both social minimalists and social maximalists have a "criticism" that they have to justify (well, they don't have to, and in fact, a lot of media simply doesn't, but a lot of media does... depends... for every media you can think of, it exists in Pangea, so, there is media that defends their claims and media that simply states things without further arguments). The criticism for social minimalists is: "if solitude is the ideal state for humans, why do many people feel uncomfortable when being alone for too long?". The criticism for social maximalists is: "if socialization is the ideal state for humans, why do humans manipulate others, enslave others, wage wars, kill each other, bully, torture, use emotional manipulation to make people feel bad etc.?". These are two questions that some (but not all) social minimalist/maximalist media tries to answer. Here are some answers (different media gives different answers, these are just some, for example's sake):
Question: "if solitude is the ideal state for humans, why do many people feel uncomfortable when being alone for too long?"
1: Because of the nocebo effect. Those people have likely heard that "humans are social animals", they have read fear-mongering propaganda about the supposed "biological negative side effects of solitude", about how "in the ancient times, exile meant death" or something along those lines, and their body reacts accordingly when they're alone, but that's simply because those harmful ideas are now embedded in their mind. If people didn't read that stuff and read our stuff instead, they'd never feel lonely.
2: The same reason why drug addicts feel uncomfortable when not using drugs for too long. It's an addiction, and it's harmful and makes one susceptible to emotional manipulation. "If you don't do this, I won't be your friend anymore"... then what? You'll be forced to do everything that person says out of fear of having no unpaid friends? Tsk, is that really "genuine"? Just because it feels uncomfortable to be alone doesn't mean you should be with others. That's like a cocaine addict who feels uncomfortable without cocaine and interprets it as "I must use cocaine". The best choice is simply to get rid of the addiction, and the same goes for socialization.
Question: "if socialization is the ideal state for humans, why do humans manipulate others, enslave others, wage wars, kill each other, bully, torture, use emotional manipulation to make people feel bad etc.?"
1: Because of the nocebo effect. Those people have likely heard that "humans are solitary animals", they have read fear-mongering propaganda about the supposed "risk of ideological infection of socialization", about how "if you're raised in the USA you'll see politics as binary, if you're raised in Saudi Arabia you'll become a Muslim, if you're raised in North Korea you'll worship Kim Jong Un and if you're raised in the Aztec Empire you'd demand human sacrifice to keep the rain coming", then they got scared of "being infected with nonsensical ideas" and their body reacted accordingly when they interacted with others, keeping their guard high and being hostile to anyone who has different ideas out of fear of "ideological contagion". But that's simply because they have read too much of the pro-solitude propaganda. If people didn't read that stuff and read our stuff instead, socialization would always be peaceful, healthy and fun!
2: Because that's unfortunately a side effect of socialization, but it doesn't mean it's all bad! The idea that "humans are solitary animals" is a lie promoted by people who want to isolate others! It's true that wars, torture, genocides, bullying, manipulation and so on exist, but that doesn't mean that "humans are solitary by nature and making them interact with others cause issues because it's unnatural for us". Not at all, that's a misunderstanding of how human nature works! The good parts of socialization vastly outweight the negatives. Societies are stronger and have a better quality of life if there is more socialization! Plus, it makes you feel understood, loved and connected! And it's fun to hang out with your friends! What's wrong with hanging out with your friends and having fun with them? Nothing! Pro-solitude media looks at the dark side of human socialization and decides "it's all evil", but their reasoning is flawed!
Coming soon, but for now...
Is democracy good?
1: Yes.
1.1: It's "the will of the people", and enforcing it is good.
1.1.1: The will of the people is the will of God, and enforcing it is good. In order to find out what God wants, one must find out what the people want. It's exactly the same thing.
1.1.1.1: "The people", understood as a collective whole, is God.
1.1.1.2: "The people" is not God, but the two wills are the same, either in identity or content, depending on the interpretation, so it remains true that to find out the will of God, one must find out what is the will of the people.
1.2: It's not perfect or inherently "fair", in fact, it may have serious flaws, but it's better than any other system, so it's "good" through comparison.
2: No.
2.1: It's the tyranny of the majority.
2.2: Democracy is bad for the same reason you shouldn't let the passengers of an airplane make decision about how the airplane should be driven. Some people are experts in a certain field (like politicians are experts are politics), and they should be the ones making decisions in that field, not the ignorant masses.
2.3: Democracy inevitably leads to demagogy: politicians saying whatever dumb stuff that the masses want to hear in order to gain votes. So, it's not the best at leading a society that gets voted, but the best at psychological manipulation and propaganda. This is why democracy inevitably leads to massive propaganda campaigns.
3: More nuanced/mixed opinion.
4: Democracy itself is good, it's just the way it's implemented in the world that is flawed. Proposed alternatives:
4.1: Direct democracy: people voting on each issue individually instead of voting a representative with whom one only partially agrees.
4.2: Democracy LARPing (like they do in Pangea) is better than democracy as implemented in some Gaian countries. Democracy LARPing is the truest form of democracy, because everyone's vote counts (within one's free time)!
4.3: Representative democracy is ok, it's the counting that's flawed. One should be able to vote for more than one candidate/political party, and whoever gets the most votes, wins. This prevents the reasoning of "I really want to vote this party, but if I do, it's one less vote for the 'evil but not as evil as the other' party, and the other 'more evil' party will win!".
4.3.1: Preferential voting.
4.3.2: Voting of multiple candidates/party, but each vote has equal weight. It remains the case that whoever has more votes wins.
Does democracy actually exist anywhere in the world (Kora + Gaia)?
1: Yes. Where?
1.1: Broad answer: the USA, most of Europe, but Russia and North Korea are also democracies, since citizens vote.
1.2: More restricted answer: the USA, most of Europe, maybe Russia but definitely not North Korea, since elections there are a sham.
1.3: The USA, most of Europe, definitely not Russia nor North Korea.
1.4: Most of Europe, but definitely not the USA, Russia nor North Korea. The reason why the USA is excluded from being a democracy in this view is because it's de-facto a two-party system. While it's technically possible to vote for another political party, in practice, no other political party has ever won the presidential elections since the 1850's. This makes the USA "democracy" a sham, just like North Korea, with no real choice for the citizens.
1.5: Only Pangea has democracy, because every person can make choices for their own free time, actually maximizing "the will of the people". No other country does that, since many people don't live their lives as they want, and so "the will of the people" is very low in other countries, even during their free time, making them "non-democracies".
2: No.
2.1: The only true democracy is direct democracy. For example, the majority of people in the USA support the legalization of cannabis, and yet most states make it illegal. Therefore, the USA is not a democracy. The same reasoning goes for every country in the world, including Pangea.
3: Something vaguely similar to democracy exists but not exactly.
3.1: Representative democracy is something vaguely similar to true democracy (direct democracy), but it's not exactly the same.
3.2: "Democracy" exists in some Gaian countries de-jure. However, de-facto, due to propaganda and conformism, which affects far more than 50% of the population, it is the case that the rulers, through the means of propaganda and mass media, effectively control the population, making the fact that people can vote irrelevant.
3.3: A two-party system (like de-facto that in the USA) is not a true democracy, so it leaves out at least some (though not necessarily all) Gaian countries from being democracies.
3.4: Representative democracy is not true democracy. Only direct democracy is true democracy. Something vaguely similar to that exists (Switzerland), but it's still very far from being an actual democracy
Which is better?
1: Digital minimalism. Why?
1.1: Scrolling on social media is unhealthy.
1.2: The real life is better than the Internet.
1.3: Purely for privacy reasons (this is more relevant in Gaia/Centralia).
1.4: Because of censorship (this is also more relevant in Gaia/Centralia). Note: some media criticizes this option by saying "if something is censored on the Internet to the point of being unavailable, then you can bet your ass it's even more censored in real life: you're not gonna find that information in libraries, book stores or anything. Not using the Internet doesn't solve this problem at all".
1.5: Because of government propaganda and ideological extremism that is emotionally toxic and causes negative feelings (this is only relevant in Gaia/Centralia, as by definition, in Pangea you can curate your Internet experience exactly the way you want it). Some media criticizes this option by saying "if there's propaganda and toxic social dynamics on the Internet, it'll be like that in real life, too", but some media responds to that criticism by saying "no, one can isolate oneself socially (which is seen as neutral or positive by this media, and may be a pro-solitude media, either necessary ("social interactions are bad, always") or contingent ("social relationships are bad in some cases, and in those cases, do isolate yourself, it's the best choice")) to avoid propaganda and toxic social dynamics. Furthermore, if one is lucky enough to be friends or partner with non-toxic people, one can interact with those, so avoiding the Internet is not 'useless'".
1.6: Digital non-minimalism (moderate or even extreme usage) is not bad, unhealthy or anything. In this option, digital minimalism is done just for the retro aesthetics, nothing more.
2: Digital maximalism. Why?
2.1: Human beings have a characteristic such as the more information one has in their minds, the better. Humans in the prehistory lived awful lives because of the ignorance, and lives get better with more information. The ideal state of human beings is one where one is constantly exposed to new information. Therefore, "scrolling on social media" or "reading random stuff online" is the best way to spend one's time. The most extreme forms of digital maximalism suggest sleeping with earphones and listening to digital podcasts while one sleeps, claiming that even when one's sleeping, the information is absorbed subconsciously, therefore improving one's mind.
2.1.1: Humans are evolving into a new species: Homo Informaticus, and therefore, it's good to have as much information in your mind as possible, or you'll be left behind.
2.1.2: Humans are not evolving into a new species, or at least, not anytime soon, but it's still a good thing to maximize the information intake.
2.2: Because the hypnotic state and the mental stimulation one gets while scrolling or reading random stuff or listening to random podcasts feels good and is good for the moment. There are only two reasons why one may feel bad after scrolling for a while: because one was conditioned to believe that scrolling is "a waste of time", "unhealthy", "unproductive" or something like that, and the bad feeling one gets is simply a nocebo effect (a negative effect caused by the belief that there would be a negative effect). The other reason is, for instance, on Gaian and Centralian social media, one is mostly unable to choose the content one sees. The "feeds" are decided by huge corporations and cannot be modified by users. Therefore, one may see disturbing content, or even simply content that makes one angry or anxious, or decreases one's self-esteem (through "social comparison" or, for example, because lots of people say bad things about something the user likes to do, making one feel like they're a bad person). The problem, according to #2.2 media, is not the scrolling itself, but the content one sees during such activity. #2.2 states that if one is able to choose exactly the content one wants to see, and one is not conditioned to believe scrolling is unhealthy or bad, such bad feeling will never occur, and that therefore digital maximalism is a good thing, and that you should spend most of your time, as much as possible, on screens, Internet, videogames, scrolling etc.
3: An in-between. Why?
3.1: "Time in-between". Not using the Internet at all in the 2020's is unrealistic, and the Internet has helped improve lives, but digital maximalism is excessive. It's also good to "go outside and touch grass" (unless you live in a barren tundra... then go outside and touch rocks or ice) at least for a few hours a day.
3.2: "Type in-between". This idea states that the "in-between" refers to the type of digital usage rather than the time spent on it. For instance, use digital media/devices to learn new skills, to send messages to people you care about, but don't use it for mindless entertainment.
3.2.1: Even the mindless entertainment is good, as you can learn new things and think about ideas you had never thought about before, which can potentially transform your life in a positive way.
4: Either is fine. Why?
4.1: How much you use digital media, or what type, is not that important, at the end of the day. Just do whatever you want in your free time, the amount of time and type of digital usage in your life is arbitrary and won't change your life that much, or in important manners.
4.1.1: Do whatever you want and don't think too much about it.
4.1.2: Do think about it but don't let it make you believe that there's a "correct" amount or way to use digital media/devices. There's no "correct" time/type of usage, it's all arbitrary.
5: Variety is the best option. For example, digital minimalism during New Moon, digital maximalism during Full Moon, gradual increase of digital usage during waxing moon, and gradual decrease during waning moon. Why?
5.1: The point is precisely the variety. In life, it's best to experience as many different things as possible. If you only live as a digital minimalist, digital maximalist, or an in-between value, your life lacks variety and is "incomplete", as you won't know what the other options feel like.
How do you define "digital"?
1: Just the Internet. Electronic devices are excluded from the definition as long as they're not connected to the Internet.
2: The Internet + devices that are capable of being connected to the Internet, even if they're not connected. An old dumbphone (e.g. the Nokia 3310) is excluded from the definition.
3: The Internet + devices that are capable of being connected to the Internet + all mobile phones, even the very old ones that can't connect to the Internet.
4: All that is included in #3 but also videogame consoles, even the old ones that can't connect to the Internet (eg. NES, SNES, PS1 etc. the N64 can technically connect to the Internet, as well as the Dreamcast). Watching TV channels is not included in the definition of "digital".
5: All that is included in #4 but also TV channels.
6: All in #5 plus landline phones.
7: Anything that uses electricity. This is the broadest possible definition.
7.1: Some media notes that until a few centuries ago, not having electricity was considered perfectly normal (because electric devices did not exist at all) and that people "lived normally". Some media complains that humans have "gotten weaker" and suggest not using electricity, or at least minimizing its usage, whereas other media praises electricity for having improved people's lives dramatically.
Luna Hedonia is a goddess/idea/abstract concept/etc. (depending on the media) whose "worship/following/etc." consists in indulging in sensorial pleasures without limit during Full Moon, practicing asceticism during New Moon, gradually increasing one's indulgence during waxing moon and gradually decreasing it during waning moon.
What is Luna Hedonia?
1: A goddess.
2: An idea or abstract concept. She doesn't exist as an entity, she's just an idea of alternating between hedonism and asceticism depending on moon phases.
2.1: An idea, nothing more.
2.2: Ideas can become egregores (collective thoughtforms) if many people believe in them.
2.3: Even if it's believed by only one person, an idea is already a thoughtform, and it possesses certain characteristics. The degree to which a thoughtform can affect reality varies depending on the worldview.
2.4: All ideas and thoughts (including Luna Hedonia) have always existed (according to some, in some realm of ideas), humans don't "create" new thoughts, they just discover them.
2.5: All ideas and thoughts only exist when humans think them, and therefore, humans "create" new thoughts.
Why following these lunar rituals?
1: Just out of curiosity or boredom.
2: To increase variety in one's life. Only practicing hedonism or only practicing asceticism is too monotonous and limiting.
3: Because Luna Hedonia will grant benefits in one's life if one follows her rituals. What benefits is unspecified by default, different media says different things about it.
4: To avoid hedonic adaptation by having a period of asceticism to "lower the hedonic baseline" and provide some sort of "contrast", so that hedonic adaptation does not occur and things can keep feeling pleasant.
5: In order to be capable of enjoying things without being too attached to them.
Opinions about the rituals:
1: (Ascetic opinion) Luna Hedonia's rituals are bad because they contain hedonism. Hedonism brings spiritual decay.
2: (Hedonist opinion) Luna Hedonia's rituals are bad because they contain asceticism. Asceticism ruins one's only, brief life for nothing in return.
3: Luna Hedonia's rituals are good.
4: Luna Hedonia's rituals are bad because they vary too much. It's ok to be a hedonist, it's also ok to be an ascetic, but varying that much within the course of a month, every month, is bad, and confuses the body and mind.
5: Luna Hedonia's rituals are neither inherently good or bad, they have certain characteristics, and whether those characteristics are good or bad is up to the followers to decide.
Note: Christians and Muslims exist in Pangea, but due to the saturation, the opinions of some of their media do align with Gaian standards, but others do not, and practice very unorthodox forms of their religion. The "official context" can be read to see if a media is "orthodox" by Gaian standards, to avoid confusion.
6: Some Christians/Muslims in Pangea call Luna Hedonia "pagan" and therefore "evil", and say that anyone who follows Luna Hedonia will be tortured by the Abrahamic god forever in the afterlife.
7: There is some media in Pangea of people who claims to be Christian/Muslim but they worship Luna Hedonia during Full Moon. There is some media where they are asked about henotheism/monotheism (Christianity is henotheistic ("thou shalt have no gods before me") and Islam is monotheistic ("I declare that there is no god other than Allah and Muhammad is his messenger")), these people say that during Full Moon, "I can no longer deny that the Moon exist. She's beautiful, reflects the light of the Sun back at us, and asks us to indulge in all sorts of pleasures. How can I deny the Moon, when I see it with my own eyes? But outside of Full Moon, I'm always [Christian/Muslim]!".
7.R1 ("7.R1" means "Response 1 to view #7"): Some Christians/Muslims, on the other hand, respond to the claim above that "The Moon does not exist, it's just an illusion to your perception. Stop worshiping Luna Hedonia".
7.R2: Some Christians/Muslims say that "The Moon exists but it's a creation from Yahweh/Allah, you shouldn't worship it, it's forbidden".
7.R3: Some Christians/Muslims say that "The Moon exists, and it's a part of Yahweh/Allah, and therefore you must worship it, but that doesn't mean that when it's full you must indulge in hedonism. This is a pagan (i.e. non-Christian/Muslim) invention from ancient people who did not know any better, because they lived in ignorance, and even in the ancient times there were people who criticized this practice anyway.
7.R4: Some practicioners of Luna Hedonia say that "the Moon exists even when it's New Moon. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It just means you should not indulge in pleasures, because..."
7.R4.1: "...her energy is empty, and we must respect that."
7.R4.2: "our lives should be devoted to the Moon, and we must follow its rhythm!".
7.R5: Some Satanists (as well as some Christians/Muslims) say that "Luna Hedonia is Satan during Full Moon, and it's good to alternate between Yahweh/Allah and Satan, because you can see the entirety of the human experience this way." (Some Satanists in Pangea say that humans are inherently Satanic because of language or technology that no other animal possesses, for more information check Section 12.38 of Part 1.
7.R5.1: Some Satanists (as well as some Christians/Muslims) say that "Luna Hedonia is Satan during Full Moon, and she's Yahweh/Allah during New Moon anyway, and she gradually morphs back into Satan during waxing moon, so being a Christian/Muslim who follows Luna Hedonia during New Moon is literally just the same as practicing the religion normally, just like a Satanist who follows Luna Hedonia during Full Moon is literally just the same as practicing Satanism normally. It's just during Full Moon that Luna Hedonia is Satan, but during the New Moon she's Yahweh/Allah".
8: Some claim to be Christians/Muslims and worship Luna Hedonia, claiming that Luna Hedonia is "a part of [Yahweh/Allah], the omnipresent god, and therefore it's allowed to worship her".
9: There are also Buddhists, Neo-Pagans, Chaos Magicians, occultists, Satanists etc. who worship Luna Hedonia, each with a huge variety of explanations.
9.1: Some Satanists in Pangea claim that Luna Hedonia is inherently "adversarial" in the sense that the constant switching between hedonism and asceticism "adds" more options, which is what (as that media claims) Satan represents, just like Satan (this media claims that the serpent was Satan) "added" new options to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
9.2: Some chaos magicians say that Luna Hedonia is helpful to perform "paradigm shifts".
9.3: Some Buddhists in Pangea claim that Luna Hedonia is helpful to "enjoy things but without forming attachment to them".
10: Of course, as expected, there are Buddhists, Neo-Pagans, Chaos Magicians, occultists, Satanists etc. who either don't worship Luna Hedonia because they're not interested, or even because they criticize/dislike Luna Hedonia and her rituals, and say they are bad (either just for themselves or in general). Obviously, the reasons behind the criticism are extremely varied, as everything else in Pangea.
11: Some Christians/Muslims worship Luna Hedonia by saying "she's not a goddess, it's just a physical object, a satellite of the Earth, nothing more, therefore there's nothing wrong in following the rituals of Luna Hedonia, it doesn't violate the commandment of 'don't worship other gods', because she's not a goddess".
12: Some say that Luna Hedonia during Full Moon is simply Hedone, while others say they are two different entities, and others say there is partial overlap between Luna Hedonia (during Full Moon) and Hedone.
13: Some antitheists say that Luna Hedonia (and following her rituals) is bad because she's a goddess.
13.1: Some antitheists tolerate or even like or even follow Luna Hedonia, but only as long as she's not considered a goddess, but simply an abstract idea.
13.2: Some antitheists say that "claiming that Luna Hedonia is not a goddess is just an excuse. She's bad, and therefore she should be banned".
13.3: The most extreme antitheists in Pangea prefer to "stay on the safe side" and propose a ban on all abstract concepts: mathematics, numbers, the value of money (though some allow gold or other scarce materials), marriage, country borders, geometry etc. because "those are things we can't see or hear, therefore we have no good reason to believe they exist, and it's harmful if society believes in those things, therefore abstract concepts must be banned".
Panopton is a deity/entity that sees everything. There are two main interpretation of what exactly Panopton sees:
1: Panopton sees everything that is seen. If no living being with a sense of sight sees something, then Panopton does not see that thing.
1.1: And therefore, that thing does not exist (since no conscious entity sees it). May have idealistic implications (consciousness is the primary/only form of reality).
1.2: But that thing still exists. Things exist even if no conscious entity sees it. May have materialistic implications (matter is the primary/only form of reality).
2: Panopton sees everything.
2.1: Only thing that "exists" (e.g. in a material sense).
2.2: Everything, including fiction, dreams, visual thoughts, hypothetical scenarios etc.
1: Action figures and plushies of any character you can image, from any media, as well as of Gaian political figures (current and historical).
2: A remote controlled toy helicopter, of any color and with any decoration you can think of.
3: A soft, comfy couch that looks like a throne.
1: A circle-shaped touch-screen smartphone, and the apps are displayed within a square whose four angles touch the circumference of the circular screen, and this is a method already described in Part 1. This type of smartphone however has another method on top of that "square within the circle": instead of the remaining area being empty, on the top there's the name of the app, on the left there is a "back" button, on the right there is a "back to menu" button, which shows the menu, and on the bottom there is "open apps" list, where you can see the list of apps you opened and switch apps and do multitasking. That is a smart way to occupy the remaining space.
Unless it's a very small town (in which cases there are also thematic areas but maybe only just 10-20, the more basic and popular ones), every city in Pangea has an extreme variety of thematic areas (often over 10,000+ in a city of a million inhabitants, all of them directly accessible from the Tranzit without having to pass through any other thematic area, and of course, in Pangea you can live your entire life without having to pass through a single thematic area, since all services and products are guaranteed to be accessible directly through the Tranzit... thematic areas are fully optional!), so there's a very high chance each of these are found in every city:
1: A thematic area that looks like Morioh from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
2: Cyberpunk.
3: Medieval fantasy.
4: Sharia street.
5: Post-apocalyptic fallout zone.
6: Friendster streets. In these streets, interacting with random strangers to try to befriend them or just to chat is totally allowed and even encouraged! This is where one can try to make new friends, even as an adult. Of course, outside of these streets, it's generally discouraged to talk to random strangers, as it's likely they just want to go on about their day and do their things without being talked to by strangers. Friendster streets of course have cinemas, restaurants, entertainment etc. and even there, it's encouraged to talk to random people.
7: Gaia-based thematic areas. Streets that look like the streets of Italy, Japan, Russia, North Korea etc. and in some Pangean cities there are also replicas of foreign attractions like the Colosseum, Eiffel Tower, Red Square of Moscow etc. visually, if you're in the replica of the Red Square, it will look pretty much exactly like actually being at the Red Square in Moscow!
8: Fake transgression streets: streets made specifically so that people can have the feeling of breaking some rule. For example, the fake Sharia street is where you can break Islamic rules, insult Allah etc. and the actors there pretend to be shocked. Of course, you have to pay those actors if you want those experiences (they need money too, of course). Or you can go to a fake Jewish neighborhood and wave Swastika flags, or you can go to a fake North Korean transgression street and insult Kim Jong Un. You can also pay to destroy a statue of Kim Jong Un in those streets, or dirty it with ketchup. Destroying it costs much more, because if you destroy a statue, someone has to create another one, whereas dirtying it with ketchup or throwing garbage at it costs much less, since then a dedicated worker simply has to clean it, which is much less work compared to building a statue.
9: Nudist areas. Only for people who are 18 or older, and there are strict hygienic standards in the nudist areas to prevent diseases, so it's safe. There are cinemas, restaurants, entertainment etc. in nudist areas, too! You have to sit on towels in nudist areas, for hygienic reasons.
10: Nazi street: full of swastikas flags etc.
11: Kawaii street: full of very cute illustrations everywhere, on the walls of the buildings, everything is very colorful etc.
12: Sci-fi street with various aesthetics.
12.1: Sci-fi street with chrome grey, semi-reflective surfaces everywhere: on the ground, on the walls of the buildings, on streetlights, on outdoor benches etc.
13: Area without electricity. People don't necessarily live there (though they can if they want, it's not forbidden), but the area is guaranteed to exist so that people can go there during their free time to get immersed in that aesthetics. Some people have, as their gamma (work role), to populate the no-electricity areas during their work time and tell fake stories to the paying customers about how "their community" (which is fake) "survives without electricity" and stuff like that.
14: Dating street. A street that is pretty much the physical equivalent of dating apps (except that dating streets existed since antiquity in some form or another in Pangea). You go there and in those streets it's actively encouraged to search for a partner. Of course, you can say no, the other person can say no, but approaching people for romantic or long-term sexual reasons is perfectly allowed, encouraged even, since that's the entire point of those streets! So you can approach people without shame, and you can also expect to be approached.
15: Communist street.
15.1: Generic communist street.
15.2: Maoist communist street.
15.3: Cuban communist street.
15.4: Vietnamese communist street.
15.5: Soviet Communist street.
15.5.1: Pre-WWII Soviet Communist street.
15.5.2: Cold war Soviet Communist street.
15.5.3: late 1980's Soviet Communist street.
15.6: North Korean Communist street.
16: Fairy forest street.
17: Satanism street.
18: Conservative Christianity street.
19: Vaporwave street.
20: Frutiger Aero street.
21: an area that looks like Nibelheim from Final Fantasy VII.
22: an area that looks like Rabanastre from Final Fantasy XII.
23: Corporate Memphis street.
24: Satanic Vaporwave Street.
25: Conservative Christianity Corporate Memphis street.
26: Biker area. There are also tracks when one can go and drive, tracks for bycicles, motorcycles etc. there are some safety precautions but these areas exist.
27: LGBT street, full of LGBT flags, parades, decorations etc.
28: Steampunk street. Obviously, it doesn't have actual steampunk technology, just the aesthetics.
29: Noir detective street.
30: Nudist sharia street. Where nudism and Islam conflict, nudism takes priority. Where they don't conflict... well, they don't conflict.
31: Hentai street. These are streets with hentai decorations (statues, wall paintings etc.), and there are both nudist and textilist versions of hentai streets. The textilist versions are for people who want to see the nude hentai characters without having to see other naked people, whereas the nudist hentai streets are for people who want to be naked or even potentially seeing other naked people in the street, in addition to naked hentai decorations.
Because in Pangea you can buy media that says literally anything, like "microwaving newborn babies is healthy for them: the radiation stimulates their intelligence and helps them grow better and healthier", or "heroin will make you become immortal, the reason why foreign governments ban it is because they control people through the idea that one day you'll die, and heroin overdoses don't exist and are just lies to discourage people from becoming immortal", the Pangean government (or heavily trusted fact-checking companies) provide official truth, like "no, microwaving babies is not healthy for them, it kills them certainly and immediately. Doing so is illegal so do not do that." and "no, heroin will not make you become immortal, it's extremely addictive, dangerous, and there's a relatively high chance it will lead to an overdose death because it requires progressively higher doses to give the same effect. Buying and consuming heroin is legal in Pangea, however, as it's a decision an adult makes". The content of the official truth remains the same, but the aesthetics can be customized. If one requests the official truth to be said cutely by a cute anime girl (or a rebellious biker full of muscles wearing a leather jacket, or anything else, for that matter), the government or trusted fact-checking companies will provide that. The anime girl may have a dialog text above her that says "Senpai, this text is insane-desu, don't microwave babies, it will kill them, and it's illegal!". This is done for two reasons: one is that, obviously, during free time, the sensorial experience of wishes must be approximated as closely as possible, and second, if a person is more likely to trust a cute anime girl over a sentence said in a formal, bland tone, then it's more efficient to let a cute anime girl tell the official truth to that specific person. In Pangea, it's perfectly legal to not believe in the official truth, as long as nothing illegal is done. If one gets hurt from their own actions because they disbelieved in the official truth, it's their problem. However, even though it's legal to not believe in the official truth, it's still preferrable if more people believed in it compared to less people, so the aesthetics are used to build trust. If one trusts a cute anime girl better than a bland, formal tone, then it will be the cute anime girl who tells the official truth to that specific person.
In Pangea, it's perfectly legal to be a conservative Christian, Muslim, National Socialist ("Nazi"), Murdakist (believing that people who wear yellow t-shirts should be punished with death), anti-LGBT, fascist etc. it's legal to believe in that stuff, publish and read/watch writings and videos about that (and actually, it's not just legal, the existence of such media is literally a guarantee in Pangea), being in a community about that, either with matchers (people who also believe that) or, if no organic community exists, there is a guarantee of workers who'll perform acting to give a sense of community for you, the customer. However, it's illegal to try to impose those laws on the Pangean society. That is a punishable crime called "usurpation". The legal alternative to that is simply to pay for a LARP (live-action role-playing) where actors pretend that your preferred laws have become the laws of Pangea, and that the previous order was destroyed. You can also pay for fake newspapers that announce the destruction of the previous order and the beginning of a new one based on your preferred laws, setting "a new era for Pangea". Those are called "usurpation LARP's" and can be very satisfying to some, and give a sense of power. However, real, non-fictional usurpation is a crime in Pangea.
Note that the traits are not necessarily mutually exclusive: one person can (and usually does) have multiple traits, and in various degrees.
1: Hyperthymic. A character who is always very happy, lively, cheerful and optimistic, even when they shouldn't be. May or may not have some sociopathic tendencies (e.g. lack of empathy).
2: People pleaser. Will do anything to please others, even if causes severe disadvantages to the people pleaser.
3: Brutally honest. Will say what's on their mind, without filters.
4: Solitary. Someone who, by their own decision, refuses to interact with anyone.
5: "Social butterfly". Someone who always seeks company. Can be manipulated easily in some circumstances, especially if this person is addicted to company.
6: Transactional. Will only do favors for others in exchange of something.
7: Pessimist. Always sees the negative side in everything. Sometimes this person may be right, and may be useful in case the others are naively optimistic.
8: Optimistic nihilist. "Nothing matters, and it's awesome!"
9: Gossiper. Always talks negatively about other people behind their backs. It's almost certain that they'll talk negatively about you with others when you're not there.
10: Anti-technology. Rejects technology or any newly invented tool, preferring to live as in the past. There are obviously a wide range of degrees.
11: Pro-technology (at all costs). They'll embrace any new technology immediately, even if it's completely useless or even dangerous. They seek the thrill of novelty and progress.
12: Sarcastic meanie. This person will say sarcastic and offensive things about others (generally to others, unlike the gossiper).
13: Nerd. Obsessed with computers, tinkers with tools and tries to modify them, tries to understand how everything works, is extremely curious and has vast knowledge. Will often say, "actually... ☝🤓" when someone says something inaccurate.
14: Misanthrope. This can have two main different interpretations:
14.1: Hates everyone (or most people), individually.
14.2: Hates the concept of "humankind", or "the masses", but may (or may not) tolerate/like (some) people individually.
15: Chameleon. Changes personality totally depending on who they're interacting with.
16: Boring. Someone who has no interests, no hobbies, no quirks, and when you try to conversate with them, they reply with one or a few words every time, making it more like a monologue (from you) than a dialogue.
17: Rejectiophobe. The kind of person who's anxious and always asks "I'm not annoying you, right?" or "You're not mad at me, right?", and if someone doesn't want to be friends with them, they tremble, almost cry, and think that it's some sort of tragedy.
18: Dark humor fan. Pretty self-explanatory: loves dark humor.
19: The elite occultist. Thinks that they are "one of the very few who has actually understood how the world works and its hidden truths, and has critical thinking skills".
20: The conformist. Does things (and has certain opinions) only because "most people do it".
21: The dreamer. Wants very unlikely things (at least for now), like going to Mars for a vacation.
22: Schadenfreuder. Enjoys other people's misfortune.
1: The official truth was first estabilished by King Agüuaz in 450 B.C. because the increasing literacy and books produced were starting to confuse the population about what was true or not, so he estabilished an organization of knowledgeable workers where one could pay in order to let the customer know whether the content of the book was true, false, or yet unknown. Many (though not all, especially in the beginning) of scribes, when they copied books, were slowly being required to write the "official truth" in the first page, though it took some time for all books to have that. Even in antiquity, books were not censored in Pangea. The rulers, especially after King Agüuaz, realized that the saturation of information (which happened since antiquity) provided an amazing opportunity for them to control the population through the official truth (without which nobody would even know if a certain plant or mushroom was poisonous, so the population was forced to use the official truth). Though censorship pretty much never existed, the official truth was not always super honest, and often benefitted the king, although the non-political information such as the safety of certain plants, or how to build things etc. was always honest. With time, the official truth evolved more and more.
2: There is a loophole that allows a professional movie-watching companion to listen to music, podcasts, ASMR etc. and close their eyes behind a hyper-realistic face mask with open eyes even if the customer requested "making funny comments about the movie". The worker can simply include, in the audio that they listen through earphones, occasional phrases like "say [X] now": those phrases are matched with the exact timestamps of the movie, so, the audio may say, for example, "say 'haha, that guy is an idiot!' now". Because the audio is matched with the same exact timestamp of the relevant scene in the movie, the sensorial experience of the customer is that of someone making funny, relevant comments, even though in reality the worker is not watching the movie at all, they're just listening to something else entirely, with their eyes closed, and they only make those funny comments because the audio they're listening to is telling them to say that specific thing.
3: In Pangea, the indoor space inside a condo that is not a part of a house is also legally considered a part of the Tranzit, and is subject to the same rules as the ones that apply in the Tranzit outdoors. Once you reach the Tranzit, the law states that you should be able to reach any thematic area without having to pass through any other undesired thematic area, as well as being able to get all products and services without having to pass through a thematic area. So, if you live in a condo in Pangea, you exit your house, and if there's any indoor space once you exit your house's door, that space is legally considered a part of the Tranzit. Then, you exit the building and you're still in the Tranzit (there must be at least one exit facing the Tranzit in any residential building in Pangea, but it's allowed for a building to have the other exits facing a thematic area if at least one exit faces the Tranzit), and you can go anywhere you want and get any product or service you want without having to pass through any undesired thematic area. Just like outdoors, the indoor Tranzit spaces of a condo must follow various rules, including (but not limited to) making transportation easy for physically disabled people. The Tranzit is not necessarily zig-zag-shaped, but the thematic areas are, because otherwise the space would not be enough to fit a very large amount of them in a city if you could see too far within a thematic area. If your desire is to see a horizon in the distance, there are thematic areas for that, but those are either on the city outskirts (where the city ends, and so it becomes irrelevant if you can see things in the distance), or the horizon is fake and it's just an artificial elevation change and below that "horizon" there's either the Tranzit or a different thematic area. In Pangea, every thematic area must have at least one part of it facing the Tranzit, so that you can exit without having to pass through a different thematic area. However, as long as one side of the thematic area faces the Tranzit, it is allowed for the other side of the thematic area to border directly into a different thematic area, as long as you can't see the other thematic area directly, so that it won't ruin your immersion. Outdoors, streets in the Tranzit use noise-reducing techniques, whereas in some thematic areas they don't, and you can hear the noise of cars at their full intensity (some people enjoy that). Tranzit streets in Pangea are easily walkable, cyclable and you can easily use cars and travel by bus there, too! 4: Pangea is definitely not some sort of utopia. Anything that doesn't contradict Demichronism is considered fair game by the government. Forced vaccinations (which by law can only occur during work time or during school, as it'd be illegal to do that in free time, but they do occur), forced labor, increased surveillance camera usage (since they don't significantly alter one's own sensorial experience during free time, the government takes advantage of it) etc. are aspects of Pangea, too. Pangea is not supposed to be some sort of utopia where everything is perfect, it's just a country based on Demichronism. Crime exists in Pangea, even though the crime rates are very low. Just like Gaia, Pangea tends to get better with time, but it's not perfect. Pangea has both authoritarian and liberal aspects within it, as do other countries like those in Europe and elsewhere, it's just that what is authoritarian and what is liberal in Pangea is very different compared to Europe, the USA, or elsewhere. For instance, Europe/USA does not have directly forced labor (although one must work to survive, and most of the time one cannot choose their own job, the coercion still exists, it's just indirect rather than direct), whereas Pangea does, but during free time, Pangea is a lot more liberal than USA/Europe. They simply have two different cultures, where authoritarianism and liberalism are placed in different aspects of life, that's it. According to some metrics (see section 18), Pangea is less authoritarian than Europe or the USA, although this, just like every claim, is debated in Pangea (and what isn't, after all?). The official truth, like with all opinions/arbitrary metrics, stays completely silent on the issue.
5: Gaian companies (e.g. Nintendo) do business with Pangea, benefitting from the modular copyright system. Pangeans know, because when they sell games containing Nintendo characters, the modular copyright system explicitly tells them to sell that game at a certain minimum price because they have used "copyrighted modules", and that the money indicated will go to the original creators (in this case, it explicitly says "Nintendo"), which means Gaian companies benefit from the modular copyright system. Gaians also know: Gaian governments know because they track the flow of money, and Gaian citizens know because it is common knowledge at this point, and plus many have seen the proof of it when either being in Pangea themselves, knowing someone from Pangea, or seeing content talking about it. It's no secret. Despite Gaian companies publicly denouncing Pangea and their "piracy" and "severe violations of intellectual property", Gaian companies prioritize profit overy literally anything else, and so they do business with Pangea while still making hostile public comments about Pangea and "condemning" its practices and promoting the sanctions against Pangea, including isolation (though it's just Gaians that cannot access Pangean content, not viceversa: Pangeans can very easily access all Gaian content). The secret reasoning behind Gaian companies is "if we didn't do business with them, they'd literally use our content for free, there's absolutely no way we can stop them, so at this point let's accept the money Pangea gives us for our modules", but Gaian companies would never say it publicly. Publicly, Gaian companies vehemently deny that they do business with Pangea, call Pangea "a criminal state" and publicly condemn it, while "secretly" taking the money Pangea gives them for their modules. This is very similar to how many USA political commentators are accused of taking money from Russia. It's considered a bad thing by many, the commentators deny it, but the evidence is more or less explicit. Likewise, a lot of Gaian media companies are accused of taking money from Pangea. It's considered a bad thing, the media companies deny it, but it's a known thing. However, there's a difference. Russia pays USA political commentators to say positive things about Russia, whereas Pangea doesn't do that. Pangea just pays political commentators (and all sorts of media producers) the amount of money deriving from the sale of their modules: translations of their books and podcasts into the Pangean language, action figures depicting them, plushies depicting them etc. part of the sale of those items goes to the media producer. Pangea does not require Gaians to say certain things at all. Pangea does not require doing anything at all, for that matter, the Gaians can either accept the money, or refuse the money, but what happens in Pangea stays mostly identical in either case, the only difference is that if the Gaian creators refuse the money, the price of their associated products in Pangea drops, and the Gaian creator gets no money from it.
1: Custom Browser. Of course, there are plenty other browsers in Pangea, but Custom Browser is the main one. Both the interface as well as the content of the websites are totally customizable, just like Firefox (userChrome.css and userContent.css). There are themes shared by users and there's a website specifically for themes, which one can download and use. In Custom Browser, you can not only disable Javascript but also disable CSS. You can also disable HTML and display everything as unformatted text, or you can also select "paragraphs and line breaks only". In Custom Browser, there's a config file called "customrc.config", which lets you customize what happens when you right click inside the browser, and you can add any option to run any command. For example, you can add an option to open a video in an external media player instead of inside the browser. Custom Browser comes in a huge variety of executable files that you can compile directly from the source code, and you can add or remove any feature you want, making the executable lighter. For example, you can compile a version of Custom Browser that has limited CSS (e.g. it doesn't support flex, animations, pseudo-elements or pseudo-classes... though what it does not support is fully customizable by the user! You can literally select CSS properties one by one and choose what the browser will support and what it will not support! If you select a CSS property as "unsupported", then when the browser encounters it, it will simply pretend that the element does not have that style), no Javascript, no media player (you can enable or disable image rendering capabilities!), and you have a super light-weight browser and you can open media through an external player by adding the option in "customrc.config". Of course, there are always security updates to make sure it won't cause problems. There's also a "right click options store", where you can copy and paste code for the right click menu items. Just like an app store, since the right click option store gives you any code, some code is "verified" (to be safe), whereas other says "unverified, use at your own risk". You can, for example, use a version of the browser where the browser cannot open PDF files within itself (the executable itself lacks those capabilities), and so you can simply add a code in "customrc.config" so that when you right click on a PDF website, you can open that PDF in an external PDF reader. Of course, even with a compiled executable, you can remove or restore any feature you want, but the executable will stay large, so if you want a lightweight version of Custom Browser, you have to download versions of the browser where the feature does not exist. In that case, the feature cannot be added directly to the browser, you have to use the customrc.config to add more options and open stuff in external programs. Custom Browser is just like CustomOS in that it lets you customizable right click menu items, sounds, icons, well... literally everything! There is also an official Custom Browser autocompiler (made by the people who created Custom Browser): you select the features you want or you don't want, and the program will compile Custom Browser for you. The less features you select, the more lightweight the browser is. No Javascript, limited CSS support, no media player, no PDF reader etc. is the best option for a very lightweight browser that will work even on a computer from 1998... though with that browser you can mostly just read text-only websites... but on the Pangean Internet, every website has a text-only version! Not necessarily created by the website developers themselves, but the text is always scraped anyway, so that you can read it using an 1998 computer. Javascript, or even CSS, or even HTML for that matter, are all fully optional in Pangea! CustomOS also has extremely lightweight versions, with constant security updates, so in Pangea even a computer from 1998 is still safely usable, though what you can do with it is limited. There is no planned obsolescence in Pangea: support is basically permanent. In Pangea there are other browsers other than Custom Browser, but the customization is not guaranteed: it's at the sole discretion of the developers of that browser! Also, as said before, each piece of the browser is modular, so that means that even the video player in the browser is interchangeable: you can use a minimalist player that has almost no features, but you can also use a very advanced player that can flip videos horizontally, change speed and pitch (to make a song nightcore, for example), apply filters like inverted colors, sepia, black and white, CRT filter, glow etc. you can download players and use them in the browser, which can then be displayed inline (just like most Gaian browsers do), or in an external window, in which case the player app itself opens and simply displays the video in a new window.
2: Videogames in Pangea are modular: that means instead of buying a videogame, you buy components, e.g. in a fighting game, you buy a package of characters, stages, healthbars etc. and you can customize them completely! For example, if in a fighting game you want a pink healthbar, you can simply go to either a physical store or a digital store and buy that content. There are physical stores where you can buy "additional content": video game consoles in Pangea have physical slots made specifically for additional content to be inserted. You can buy additional characters, stages, healthbars etc. it's actually the case that Pangea had paid DLC's (or a physical equivalent) in games way before than Gaia did. In Pangea, paid DLC's are literally the norm, and always have been, whereas in Gaia, that is something that happened later and more gradually.
3: Just like in Gaia, in Pangea there are screen readers for accessibility issues. The fact that every webpage can be displayed in pure text (and Javascript is therefore not required) helps with the accessibility even more.
4: Video editing tools. This part is very similar to Gaia, except that in Pangea you can remove or add features ("modules") directly into the program, for example in the toolbar on the top (and by the way, you can place the toolbar on the top, bottom, left, right etc. change its size, color etc.), or when you right click on something. You can completely customize the features and the interface of every program in Pangea, especially due to how CustomOS is made.
Here is how social media works in Pangea. There will also be a comparison with Gaian social media.
The Internet in Pangea can be divided between "social" and "non-social". It's not an official distinction, technically, but it's useful to conceptualize it that way. For instance, you can use the equivalent to social media without interacting with anyone, just seeing what other people have posted, which can include text, images, audios (music, speech etc.), videos (of all kinds), games, CSS themes etc. However, you can also interact with other people on Pangean social media, and that's where things are a little different from Gaian social media. Because during free time, the person's sensorial experiences must approximate "what one wants", the distinction between "professional companion" and "matcher" applies not only to real life, but to the Internet as well. So, on the Pangean Internet there are "professional companions" that will chat with you. For each personality/interest you can think of, there are people who work as "online professional companions", and can chat to up to around 10 people at the same time. The question is, how do they get paid? The answer is: through a similar method as Gaian online content creators. In Pangea, the Internet is divided between "ad-powered" and "ad-free". The ad-powered version makes money through ads, so part of that money goes to the people who contribute to the website, like professional online friends and content creators (more on content creators later). The ad-free version (without ads) costs money, so same logic, part of that money goes to the people who contribute to the website. You can also chat with matchers (other users, basically) if you and they want, but of course, just like in the Gaian Internet, there's absolutely no guarantee of interaction. In Pangea, you can use the "post-market Internet", which is cheaper but you can't chat with professional online companions or see content produced by professional online content creators, only seeing what matchers created (which is likely not a lot of stuff), or you can use the "full Internet", where you can see everything you want. Professional online content creators are paid by those mechanisms (part of the ad revenue, or part of the money people used to pay for the "full Internet"), but you can often buy their content as well.
Professional online companions also have their gamma, it's not like they'll interact in whatever way you want. However, for every type of interaction you can think of (including sexual), there are professional online companions whose gamma is specifically that. For every ideology, interest, aesthetics and personality there are professional online companions that will perform those interactions with you. In Pangea, professional companionship is an extremely old profession, which existed since at least 500 B.C. so it's perfectly normal that since when the Internet has been used in Pangea, online professional companions started.
Professional online content creators likewise have their gamma. They create content, comments (which people can see or hide, very easily) etc. For everything you can think of, content is created. However, note that the sensorial experience of the customer is what needs to be fulfilled, so the content they create can be fake. For example, fart fetish videos in Pangea can have fake farts (fake sound effects) and fake reactions, because the philosophy behind Pangea is that of the sensorial fulfillment (in that case, the official context explains that the farts in that video are fake). However, fart fetish centers IRL in Pangea are always authentic, so unlike in Gaia, one can simply go there and experience the real thing for oneself. In addition to that, there are also real videos if the one being farted on is a customer, or if the worker happens to be someone who's genuinely into that. However, technically speaking, there's no guarantee that those videos exist (though they do exist in Pangea, and the official context explains they're true). Another example is "public prank videos". In Pangea, they're pretty much always scripted (fake), for reasons that are obvious if you know how the basics of Pangea work.
In Pangea, you can decide what to see and what to not see, as there are advanced scripts, and contents are often tagged. The few things that are not allowed by law on the Pangean Internet are doxxing, real threats and stuff like that. Real pornography involving children and animals is also illegal, but fictional content (e.g. lolicon, drawings/animations of children/animals in sexual scenarios) is totally allowed, and guaranteed to exist since there are workers whose gamma is specifically to produce that content. If such workers didn't exist, the alpha would be reduced, which Pangea considers it to be a bad thing. Realistic (though not real) pornography involving children or animals is also allowed at the following two conditions: it does not depict a real child (one that actually exists in real life), and the other condition is that there is some sort of way to verify with certainty that it's not real, so that the police won't waste their time with investigating if it's a fake video.
The filters in Pangea are highly advanced: you can specify, for example, that you're a Muslim and that you don't want to see haram content, and you won't see any of that. You can specify that you don't want to see yellow t-shirts, and the filter will hide those from you. In order to do that, in Pangea there are "online tagging workers", which tag every content produced by professional online workers with as many tags as possible, even for meaningless stuff. For instance, if there's a carpet in a video but it's not the main content, tagging workers will insert "carpet/secondary" as the tag. That slash means that the user can select "carpet" as something they don't want to see, and they won't see any carpets. But a user can also insert "carpet/primary" and they won't see videos about carpets, though still allowing content that contains carpets but are not the topic. Because of the huge amount of content, not all content in Pangea is tagged, or not fully, the rest is done by algorithms, which do a relatively good job and are improving year after year. In Pangea, you can also choose to see only a certain type of content, or "mostly" that content, and you can also specify the percentages, and you can have multiple "feeds" for different topics, whereas in Gaia you mostly have just one, that you can't even choose yourself. Algorithmic feeds in Pangea exist but are optional, you can remove them, and you can completely control them. In Pangea you can also have Tik-tok like feeds where you don't choose the content, but again, they're completely optional!
Regarding comments: unlike in Gaia, where for each piece of content there's one comment section that is the same for everyone, in Pangea the comment section is fully customizable, and you can choose to only see positive comments, negative comments, neutral comments, shallow comments (either positive, negative, or both), deep comments, you can filter out off-topic comments or decide to see them etc. in Pangea there are "online comment workers", similar to how China or Russia (or very likely even the USA) pay people to comment on people's posts and spread propaganda, but in Pangea it's way, way broader, and it happens for every type of interaction, including compliments, insults etc. the online comment workers all have their own gamma, as usual, so for example one can get paid to compliment everyone, another can get paid to comment under pizza posts and say that "the best pizza is pizza with pineapple" etc. unlike Gaian governments, Pangea uses the saturation of information: filling the information landscape with everything and its opposite, so that the Pangean government can then say "this is true" or "this is false" to everything. It's still control of information (though, of course, some Pangean media would strongly disagree with that), but done through a different method. These online comment workers pretty much spend around 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, commenting on posts (which are themselves often created by professional online content creators). Of course, they also get paid: the fact that all types of comments exist makes the experience of using the Pangean Internet more entertainment, which brings more money (either through ads or through Internet users' subscription), makes the Internet more able to pay these online workers, and the cycle repeats in a loop.
On the Gaian Internet, if someone is censored/banned from a social media, nobody can see their content anymore. For instance, in the late 2010's, it was often the case that people deemed, for example, "right-wing", as well as fetish content, was banned from the mainstream social media. In Pangea, that content is not censored, it is simply tagged with the relevant tags, so that people who want to see it, will see it, and people who don't want to see it, won't see it. The Pangean Internet uses categorization instead of censorship. By categorizing content, it becomes possible to let users see what they want to see, which is the philosophy behind Pangea. In Pangea, just like in Gaia, it's also very easy to block people from interacting with you, but Pangea gives the additional option to block people who post certain content from interacting with you. You can use a setting where people who post certain things (say, sexual or fetish content) will be unable to interact with you. You can select which things will make an account forbidden to interact with you, and you can also manually include "exceptions" if you believe the algorithm has made a mistake. This is an option that not even the trillionaire Elon Musk on his platform X/Twitter has yet managed to implement in Gaia, but Pangean software developers are extremely skilled, they learned software development since middle school and the best were selected to work on the Pangean Internet, with very high salaries.
Regarding Reddit-like websites in Pangea. On Reddit (in Gaia), you post on "sub-reddits", and the moderators will often remove your post if they even slightly disagree with you, or even if they checked your post history and they don't like you. In Pangea, this does not happen. Gaian moderation often implies removal of content (so that nobody can see it), whereas Pangean moderation often implies categorization of content, so that people who want to see it will see it, and people who don't want to see it won't see it. Likewise, the comment section is customizable, just like on all websites. You can even turn off comments entirely so you won't see them! You can hide everything you want in the Pangean Internet, just like using the CSS property "display:none", but with a more graphical user interface that makes it easier. When Reddit removes a comment, nobody can see it. However, in Pangea, comments can be tagged, e.g. "agrees with OP", "disagrees with OP", "off-topic", "on-topic", "false information", "true information" (of course, a lot of the content is opinions and stuff like that, or cat videos or something, so not all content can be classified as "true" or "false", of course... not all tags apply to all content), "aggressive tone", "calm tone", "happy tone" etc. (the number of tags is huge, and a past can have several tags), and then the user decides what to see and what to not see. The tags (on comment or content in general, on the Pangean Internet in general) can be visible or invisible, and the user decides. There's also an option that makes tags invisible by default but you can show them optionally through either a custom setting or by hovering the cursor. The user interface behavior is completely customizable by the user.
User interfaces on websites are completely customizable, both regarding themes and layouts. For instance, you can see to show search results as a vertical list, a grid, or many other options.
User profiles are entirely customizable, just like in MySpace. However, Pangean social media gives two main options: "Profile theme" and "Viewer Theme". "Profile theme" is the theme chosen by the one who made that profile, whereas "Viewer Theme" is the theme chosen by the viewer, which is always available in case that, for example, someone is colorblind and can't read the Profile Theme well. Or for other reasons. Profile theme always remains available for artistic reasons, and viewer theme always remains accessible for accessibility as well as to make sure one's visual experience during free time is as they want it to be.
Also, in Pangea you can obviously filter out fake information. You can, for example, only see content that is neither true nor false (e.g. a cat video) or true information, hiding all false information. You can also filter out true information, seeing only false information, if that's what you want.
On June 21, 2023, the day of the northern hemisphere's summer solstice, Elon Musk (a Gaian social media owner) has said this:
Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions.
The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.
In Pangea, that's not the philosophy of social media at all, though, of course, there are definitely people saying that exact thing on Pangean social media, but I mean, the philosophy of the social media platform itself is very different. In Pangea, it's the user who decides what is a slur and what is not a slur in their free time. One can select which words they consider slurs (and they can be literally anything, even "hugs"), and if someone tries to message a person with a word that they have considered a slur (and which they have requested to not see, in the settings), the message will simply not send. Of course, if someone considers a word a slur but doesn't request to hide it, they may still see it. What you see on the Pangean Internet is entirely your choice. However, Elon Musk, despite his claim of "free speech absolutism" (which is obviously a lie, just like many things Elon Musk says), reduces visibility of posts containing the word "cis" or "cisgender" even for those people who do not consider such words a slur. This is an imposition of a certain way of thinking onto the users. In Pangea, you can definitely see posts claiming that cisgender is a slur, and there even books, documentaries, movies, cartoons, even videogames etc. that say that thing (as well as its opposite), but if you want to see posts using that word (even in a neutral or positive manner), you can, easily. In Pangea, even if, say, nobody believes a certain thing, you can find media about it anyway, because the workforce is tasked with creating as much media as possible. In Pangea, there is media (books, movies, etc. as usual) promoting a religion where you have to avoid carpets like the plague. Different media have different strictness: some say you just shouldn't buy carpets or walk on them, some other media says you shouldn't enter a building if it has a carpet in it anywhere inside that building. There are also "modular temples" where you can say that your religion is "avoiding carpets at all costs" and you tell them how much you avoided carpets and the modular priests will compliment you for your dedication to religious rules.
For each work that exists in Pangea, it is almost always the case that such task was learned at school (the only purpose of schools in Pangea is to cause the workforce to be as diversified as possible, so that people in their free time can have the sensorial experience they want). Of course, due to the huge variety of subjects in Pangean schools, most subjects are more or less optional (it's more complicated than this, of course, but basically, the goal of Pangean schools is simply to make sure the next generation of workers exists and can perform their task, that's all, nothing more, so whether or not a subject is optional and for whom is based entirely on that outcome). This list will add more options, to see the other subjects see this. More subjects:
1: Media tagging lessons. In Pangean schools, students are presented with books, images, videos, music etc. and are tasked with identifying as many things as possible in that piece of media, and to categorize how relevant or secondary they are to the video e.g. if a tech tutorial video has a bottle of lemon juice somewhere in the background, they must say how secondary that is. Primary vs secondary is not necessarily a binary, it can be fuzzy as well.
Work in progress, may be subject to changes. So far:
Pangea has 72 provinces, each of them has an area of about 17,344 square kilometers (6,697 square miles). On average, each province has around 11.5 million people, but the average consists in lower areas (lower than 2,500 meters (8,202 feet)) having a higher population and higher areas having a lower population. Some provinces are almost entirely uninhabited, entirely consisting in small, relatively isolated mountain villages or research stations/astronomic observatories. The extremely steep mountains in the north and south are not part of any province, they are uninhabited, but the laws of Pangea apply there too (in case, say, a murder happens there or something like that). The inhabitable part of Pangea (so, excluding the extremely mountainous areas) is about 1,250,000 square kilometers (482,628 square miles). If one includes the extremely steep, uninhabited mountainous areas, the area of Pangea is approximately 1,275,000 square kilometers (492,280 square miles), slightly smaller than Peru. The population of Pangea is around 830,000,000 people as of June 2026, with a population density around 651 inhabitants per square kilometer (1,686 inhabitants per square mile).
Djorno Province. Area: approximately 40°00'N to 42°30'N, east of the central dome. Altitudes approximately around 1,250 meters (4,101 feet) to 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level. Area (approximately): 17,344 square kilometers (6,697 square miles). The population of the Djorno province is approximately 16,000,000 people. The reason why many provinces have a higher population density than the Pangean average is because Pangea has many areas with very high altitudes, and those areas have a much lower population density than the Pangea average, making the areas lower than around 2,500/2,000 meters (8,202/6,562 feet) have a higher population density than the Pangean average. Brogla is the capital and largest city of the Djorno Province, with a population of around 2,000,000 people. Latitude: 41°29'N. Climate: humid continental/semi-arid climate. Temperatures in Brogla often reach or slightly surpass 35 °C (95 °F) during heat waves, and often drop below -25 °C (-13 °F) during cold waves. Precipitation is moderate. The average snowfall in Brogla is about 165 cm (65 inches) of snow per year. The altitude of Brogla may cause mild altitude sickness for someone coming from sea level, symptoms may vary depending on the person but it's usually nothing more than a mild headache or faster breathing, if any symptom happens, and everything is usually fully resolved within a few days. Many people will have no problems at the altitude of Brogla, but more sensitive people can experience some symptoms. Altitude sickness can become more severe above 2,500 meters (8,202 feet). Average highs and lows:

Elevation: 1,077 meters (3,533 feet). Population (of the capital): 1,250,000 people. Humid continental climate. The Pomran province at sea level has a humid subtropical climate very similar to that of Virginia (for example, the city of Jibe, on the western coast at the same latitude of Pomran, has a climate almost identical to that of Richmond, Virginia), whereas at higher altitudes the climate becomes colder. Pomran is located at the higher elevations of the province, making it colder.

Other provinces coming soon.
Note that this will very likely be subject to changes. I'm still deciding what the history of Pangea is like.
In Pangea, there are a lot of interesting types of social interactions. Oblique matchers are two people who consensually perform an action outside of their gamma, one of them is at work and one of them is in their free time. For example, let's say that Person A is drawing frames for an animation, and they want a back scratch. Person A can buy a worker whose gamma is "professional back scratcher" and request a back scratch while at work. In that case, Person A is a weak customer of the professional back scratcher. However, there are two other types of interactions possible: oblique matchers and weak matchers. An oblique matcher would be if Person A found someone (who is in their free time) who willingly agrees to scratch Person A's back while Person A is animating a cartoon. As usual, there is no guarantee. A weak matcher, on the other hand, is finding someone who is in their work time and willingly scratches Person A's back (but that person's gamma is not scratching people's backs, otherwise that'd be a worker, not a weak matcher). Here's an example: let's say Person A's job is animating cartoons, and Person B is a woman whose job is letting customers smell her farts. Let's assume she offers very cheap services, without social interacting with the customer or anything, all she offers is letting customers smell her farts (there are also workers who offer services with social interaction, "domination" or whatever, but they are more expensive because there's more effort from the worker). Let's say Person B willingly agrees to scratch Person A's back while Person A is animating the cartoon: Person A and Person B are weak matchers. Person B is still at work, and a customer (Person C) is smelling her farts, just like the customer paid for, but while the customer is smelling Person B's farts, Person B is scratching Person A's back while Person A is animating cartoons. Of course, Person A must work in a part of the building visually isolated from the rest of the building, so that coworkers won't see anything, but this is trivial for an animator, since it's a solitary job. Of curse, oblique matchers are not very common, for obvious reasons, and weak matchers are even more rare, but it's a technical, legal possibility in Pangea. Weak customers are way more common than either oblique or weak matchers. Weak matchers are extremely rare and can only occur under very specific conditions.
Here will be a detailed comparison of authoritarianism (according to many different definitions) in Pangea and in Europe.
Types of authoritarianism:
1: Direct compulsion: being forced to perform an action under threat.
2: Indirect compulsion: being forced to perform an action not under a direct threat, but the consequences of not performing that action are unreasonably negative.
3: Direct prohibition: being prohibited from performing an action, under threat.
4: Indirect prohibition: being prohibited from performing an action, not under direct threat, but the consequences of performing that action are unreasonably negative.
5: Lack of service. There are three main reasons for why there is a lack of service:
5.1: Direct prohibition: there is a law specifically against it. This is the technique used by Sudhurland-
5.2: Indirect prohibition: there is technically no law against it, but working in that sector is is actively sabotaged by the government or some other entity (or group of entities, private or otherwise) to the extent that the service does not exist. This is the technique used by Centralia.
5.3: The service does not exist because of cultural apathy/indifference/uninterest/lack of creativity in that service, so that there are either no customers for that service, or that nobody has thought about working in that sector. This is the technique used by Aurora.
6: Direct forced treatment. Here, you are forced into a situation where, instead of being the agent of a forced action, you are the patient of it. Basically, things done to you without your consent.
7: Indirect forced treatment. Here, you are technically not "forced" to have something done to you without your consent, but the consequence of refusing is unreasonably negative.
For comparison, Panchronia (a hypothetical/future solipsistic virtual reality where everyone always have everything they want) has a level of authoritarianism of absolute zero. Pangea is a country based on the idea that during free time, Panchronia (i.e. the sensorial experience of having everything one wants) must be approximated as closely as possible. However, in a physical reality, that requires work time. Ideally, work time should have the least amount of unwanted states for the workers, while still making sure that free time has those "everything-you-want" characteristics. Because of this structure, Pangea has certain characteristics.
Pangea's levels of authoritarianism:
1: Free time (market): essentially zero. The lack of authoritarianism in the Pangean free time market is caused by the presence of every service you can think of (high alpha), as well as the ban on asynchronicities (when something you do in your free time has consequences on your work time). If asynchronicities were allowed, the level of authoritarianism during free time in Pangea would be considered variable, and the type of authoritarianism would be indirect compulsion/prohibition of variable intensity, since you would technically be allowed to do everything you wanted in your free time, but there would be a negative consequence in your work time, acting as a deterrent, making free time not truly free. Banning asynchronicities (and maintaining a high alpha) is therefore necessary to maintain freedom during free time.
2: Free time (post-market): low/variable. It entirely depends on how manipulative the people you meet in the post-market are, but levels of authoritarianism generally stay low because the high alpha (the presence of all services you can think of) reduces dependence from matchers. Furthermore, you don't need people to do "favors for you", because for each favor you can think of, there are people whose job is to do precisely that. For example, if you need someone to drive you somewhere, there's taxis or public transport. There may be other favors but I can't come up with any more examples right now, but it is true that in Pangea, for every favor you can think of, there is a worker whose job is specifically that. However, for some emotionally sensitive people, the technique of "if you don't do X, I won't be your friend anymore" does work even in Pangea. Type of authoritarianism in the Pangean post-market: indirect compulsion/indirect prohibition. Intensity: low/variable. Potential consequences for refusal to comply: losing friends (were they even friends in the first place? In any case, this manipulation technique does work on some people), losing people who made favors for you for free (and after losing them, you have to pay professional workers to get the same result).
3: Work time: high. During work time in Pangea, you are coerced into performing a specific task, and it's illegal to refuse it. This is a form of forced labor. However, the level of authoritarianism is not higher, because of weak causal isolation, which basically states that as long as you successfully perform the task, you can do whatever else you want (provided that doesn't affect anyone else). For instance, if you're someone who animates cartoon, you can listen to porn audio roleplays at work with your earphones (so that nobody else hears it), as long as your task is completed and the porn audio does not distract you or slow you down. The content of what you listen to is irrelevant, there's no "not safe for work" in Pangea, the only thing that is "not safe for work" is that which lowers the speed and/or quality of your task. Another example of weak causal isolation is that while you work at translating or animating a cartoon or doing some other solitary job where you don't interact directly with customers, you can pay for a worker to come to your office and give you a back scratch or a head massage while you work. Again, as long as your output meets the requirements, you can do whatever else you want (as long as it doesn't affect other people's senses against their will). Yet another example of weak causal isolation is that solitary workers (again, translators, animators etc.) can have access to a "smoker-only room", where people can smoke while working as much as they want, and those rooms are constantly ventilated to prevent the smoke from accumulating. That room is for smokers: non-smokers are technically allowed to enter and work in those rooms but they are strongly discouraged from doing so due to health concerns. Technically speaking, it is legal for workers to use any drug while working, as long as that doesn't decrease the output. However, in practice, certain drugs are so strong that the high will inevitably lower the quantity/quality of output, making them de-facto illegal to use at work. Without weak causal isolation, the level of coercion of work time in Pangea would had been considered extreme. Type of authoritarianism: direct compulsion/prohibition. Refusing to work will result in legal consequences, unless you are disabled or physically unable to work, in which case you get a monthly payment similar to that of a worker so that you can survive and have entertainment. In some occasions, work time may consist in some other forms of coercion, such as forced vaccinations (especially if there's a dangerous epidemic). Doctors may also be required to donate blood if there's not enough of it for people who need it, although volunteers have the priority. Non-doctors are never coerced into donating blood.
Summary of authoritarianism in Pangea: essentially zero in the free time market, low/variable in the free time post-market, high during work time. Overall level of authoritarianism in Pangea: medium.
Europe's levels of authoritarianism (many - but not all - reasonings shown here also apply to the USA, Canada and Australia):
Europe consists in many countries, so the answers will depend by country. But generally speaking:
1: Free time (market): medium to medium-high. Types of authoritarianism possible during free time in Europe: technically all of them, but the most frequent types are direct prohibition and lack of service. Furthermore, European countries do not protect against asynchronicities, although the USA seems to practice asynchronicities more frequently than Europe does, making it a less free country. Direct prohibitions in Europe include: most recreational drugs (except cannabis in some European countries). Sex work is pretty much a mixed bag, some countries ban it (e.g. Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, France etc.), in some countries (e.g. Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Belgium etc.) it's legal and regulated (market), whereas in some other countries (e.g. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland etc.) it's legal but not regulated, which creates more dangerous conditions for the workers (little to no support or work rights, no sanitary controls, little to no protection against fraud etc.), and to some extent even to the customers too, making it technically available as a service but with poor quality and controls, akin to comparing a restaurant (legal and regulated sex work) to going to a random person's house and letting them cook dinner for you (legal but unregulated sex work). The quality and control will of course be much poorer in the latter case. The intentional degradation of a service by a government increases the score of authoritarianism. Another example of direct prohibition increasingly common in European countries, most notably (but definitely not limited to) Germany, is that of media that contains opinions/sentences/scenes that the government does not agree with. The most notable examples, in the case of Germany, is media containing swastikas, as well as criticism of the government, as well as various forms of media, fictional or non-fictional, that the government dislikes. Such censorship has the effect of reducing the customer's choice during free time, which increases the score of authoritarianism. Regarding lack of services: professional friends do exist in Europe, although the variety may be more limited compared to Europe, so that cannot be considered a lack of service (although I'm not sure how easy it is to access these services, I'd have to do some research, but I suspect it's not as simple as it is in Pangea, so maybe I should still consider it a lack of service. I'll research). Still, there are other examples of lack of services, such as: professional sci-fi LARPing companions (who participate with you in a sci-fi adventure), religious sex rituals, and other examples I may come up with eventually. The availability of products and services in both Europe and the USA is overall quite decent, all things considered, and for the most part, in most European countries media (even those that offend the governments) remain relatively accessible, though the future of media in Europe may be at risk, for multiple reasons. The main variable for Europe seems to be sex work for now. In countries in which it's legal and regulated, for the most part the level of authoritarianism during free time is medium, except in Germany where it's medium-high due to the censorship and persecution of media producers. Countries that make sex work illegal are rated medium-high in authoritarianism levels during free time, especially considering that if sex work is illegal, many religious practices (e.g. having sex with a priest or priestess for religious reasons) are also illegal as a consequence. However, even in countries where sex work is legal and regulated, religious sex work seems absent (likely for Aurora-like reasons), decreasing the practical freedom of religion. The USA is also rated medium-high in terms of authoritarianism levels during free time: sex work (religious or otherwise) is illegal, most recreational drugs (except cannabis in some states) are illegal, and the risk of asynchronicities is higher than it is in Europe, and not to mention the extreme incarceration rates and poor walkability in many cities. Still, free time in the USA is not as coercive as work time in Pangea, so it cannot be considered "high".
2: Free time (post-market): medium/variable. Types of authoritarianism: same as Pangean post-market: indirect prohibition/compulsion. However, the intensity of the authoritarianism in the European post-market is higher compared to the Pangean post-market due to a lack of service in the European market in some sectors, such as professional companionships (which technically exist but access doesn't seem as straightforward), many forms of LARPing, and (in many but not all countries) sex work, and all these holes in the market have the effect of strongly nudging people into entering the post-market for some basic services such as companionship. Like in Pangea, the level of authoritarianism in the European post-market depends on how manipulative the people you interact with in the post-market are.
3: Work time: very high. Unlike in Pangea, in Europe there's no directly forced labor. People in Europe are coerced into working through indirect means, that is, the consequence would be lack of money, and therefore lack of possibility of self-sustainment. Furthermore, just like in Pangea, in the majority of cases people don't choose their jobs, although the techniques used to prevent people from choosing their jobs are different between the two places. It is, however, a necessary practice: if everyone wants to be an artist, people would die from easily preventable diseases (no doctors), there would be little to no houses, there would be famines (nobody working in the fields) etc. so there has to be a mechanism to prevent most people from choosing their job, although the methods used by Pangea and by European countries differ, but the goal and result is the same. Unlike in Pangea, in Europe there's no equivalent of weak causal isolation, so there's no guarantee that, as long as you perform your task correctly, you'll be allowed the freedoms you would have in Pangea.
Summary of authoritarianism in Europe. Free time: medium to medium-high. Work time: very high. Overall levels of authoritarianism in Europe: high to very high, depending on the country. Overall levels of authoritarianism in the USA: high/very high. For comparison, the level of authoritarianism in places like Korea (both north and south), Saudi Arabia, China etc. is considered extreme, because free time there is definitely more coercive even than Pangean work time, making it at the very least "very high" (to be generous), and if you factor work time, "extreme" is the only score possible.
So, Pangea is considerably less authoritarian than Europe or the USA according to these metrics, and many Pangean media would agree, but many Pangean media would also disagree, and many Pangean media would be indifferent or say "depends on how you count things".
Praise and criticism of these metrics (from Pangean media):
1: The metrics are correct.
1.1: Long live Pangea, the freest country on Earth!
1.2: And it's a bad thing that Pangea is so free. Freedom is overrated, and it creates problems. It'd be good if Pangea was more authoritarian. It would lead to a more harmonious society, with less overthinking.
2: The metrics are incorrect.
2.1: Forced labor is a very serious violation of human rights, so Pangea's authoritarianism should be rated as "very high", though perhaps not "extreme", since free time is actually pretty nice here. Extreme is for the worst of the worst.
2.1.1: Europe likewise should be "very high", because it violates human rights such as being able to smoke cannabis freely in most countries and practice sex work, as long as it's not forced labor.
2.1.2: Europe should be "medium": the lack of forced labor definitely makes it a few steps better compared to Pangea, and it's good that they ban drugs and prostitution, that stuff is bad, they shouldn't allow it! Pangea is not a country they should use as an example of an ideal society, that's for sure.
2.2: Both Pangea and Europe should be "medium". Forced labor is actually not that big deal: Europeans are also forced to work to survive, the method by which they are forced to work is simply a different one. However, it's not that bad that many of them ban drugs and prostitution. Those are not essential freedoms, they're more like... if they're there, fine, if they're not there, it's also fine. You can do other things in life other than smoking pot or having sex, you know?
2.2.1: (Same as above except that it's actually a good thing that many European countries ban drugs and sex work, as those things "bring bad consequences to society", but also adds that "if a society has them legal, like Pangea, meh, it's not a big deal, after all, it can be managed with proper isolation").
2.3: Both Pangea and Europe should be "very high".
2.4: Pangea should be "none": it's unfair that work time is considered as "authoritarianism", it's literally the only way to make sure free time is truly free! The metric is unfair, Pangea is trying its best! Come on! And by the way, Europe should be "medium". It has lots of nonsensical laws, but it's not as bad as other foreign countries, I guess.
2.5: Pangea should be "medium" and Europe should be "high". The more authoritarianism, the better. Pangea is too permissive regarding freedom of thought, freedom of religion, drugs and sex work. Europe did it right, it has high "multiculturalism" by foreign standards (not by Pangean standards, of course), while still having relative uniformity. They say they have freedom of religion but the lack of temples for the vast majority of religions makes it more difficult to publicly practice them, which is a good thing and brings more uniformity. I wish Pangea was like that, too.
2.6: Pangea should be "very high" and Europe should be "medium". (As above) the more authoritarianism, the better. Pangea is a genius at forcing people to a certain job if there's a lack of services in that sector: this prevents lack of services. However, it is not a good thing that Pangea allows drugs and sex work. Pangea should ban them, and become even more authoritarian. People are idiots, and they must be led by an authority.
3: Others.
3.1: These metrics are nonsense, as they rely on the flawed assumption that human beings are sovereign agents with free will, instead of deterministic entities that can't help doing what they do.
Note that all "authoritarianism metrics" (including the main one shown in this section) are arbitrary, unofficial, and are not meant to be some sort of "absolute truth". In Pangea, there are obviously plenty of metrics that contradict the main one shown in this section! It's mostly just a matter of opinions.
Note: Pangea is not a vegetarian country. Foods of all kinds is available and easy to buy, including all sorts of meat (except human meat). You can buy dog meat, cat meat, scorpions, bugs and so on, but also chicken, pork, and so on. Other than meat, there's also v-meat of all kinds: vegan alternatives to meat that have a very similar taste. As soon as v-meat becomes indistinguishable from actual meat in terms of taste, texture and nutritional properties, the Pangean government will likely ban real meat.
1: Lemon juice
2: Lytchee juice
3: Sour candies (with varying degrees of sourness)
4: Rice with curry
5: All sorts of snacks (e.g. Tortillas, of various tastes e.g. chili, curry, vinegar chips etc. anything)
6: Street food exists in at least one street per settlement (that street is NOT part of the Tranzit, of course! Just part of a thematic area where street food exists).
7: Pig meat with disturbing gore art drawn on the package, art depicting pigs brutally killed and bleeding. Since this art is disturbing and if someone doesn't want to see it they should be able to not see it, perhaps there are dedicated sections with disturbing illustrations in dedicated sections of the supermarket.
8: Regular fruit and vegetables, e.g. lemons, oranges, tangerines, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, bananas, strawberries, cherries, watermelons, grapes, melons, pears, apples, cabbage, broccoli, pineapple, etc.
9: Meat and v-meat (vegan meat) of all kinds, including the equivalents of dog meat, cat meat, snakes, bugs, scorpions, crocodiles etc. and foods that contain it, e.g. hamburgers, kebab, cheeseburgers, etc.
10: "Cola" (not necessarily Coca-Cola, even just Cola made by Pangean brands) of various tastes: standard, lemon, cherry, sour, super sour, watermelon, strawberry, alcoholic cola, cola with cocaine inside of it (it's still legal and sold in Pangea!) etc.
11: Udon noodles with vegetables, or with vegetables and eggs.
12: V-fish, as well as food that contains it, e.g. v-fish and chips, v-fish sticks, v-fish burgers!
13: Potatoes baked in the oven, and then you can add salt, oil, any sauce you want, anything else you want! E.g. rice with curry and potatoes!
14: Chocolate of various kinds, as well as chocolate cookies.
15: Halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan foods, as well as foods for people who have allergies e.g. foods without gluten.
16: "Iblis Cuisine": a food brand that sells food that is specifically haram: pork, meat from animals that were not slaughtered in a halal way, alcohol, insects, reptiles etc. and those foods are packaged with illustrations of demons, Jinn etc. of course, the aesthetics can vary, for example there can be demons with kawaii aesthetics illustrated with it, demons with vaporwave aesthetics etc. all aesthetics. And of course, not all such foods are packaged as "Iblis Cuisine": pork can be packaged normally or even without any illustration at all. The "Iblis Cuisine" brand is specifically intended for people who find it important to consume haram foods, for various reasons. Of course, anyone who wants to buy it can buy it, eh.
17: Illuminati Chocolate Cookies: triangular shaped chocolate cookies. The lower part is the cookie, the upper part is mostly chocolate, with an eye shaped white part made of milk, and in the center of that eye-shaped milk part there's a brown chocolate dot that represents the pupil.
18: Fruit juice made of 90% orange juice and 10% lemon juice. It's quite sour, very tasty.v
19: Chocolate with cannabis inside of it.
20: A hamburger with dog meat, barbeque sauce, lettuce and tomatoes.
21: Rice with curry, mango, chickpeas and lemon juice.
Some foods (e.g. tomatoes) are unclear whether or not they're fruit or vegetables, and there are, as with every other topic, fierce debates on the matter, even with insults (that's media you can buy/watch, or TV shows about it, where the debatants insult each other, saying for example "tomatard" or something like that). Of course, you can't just approach a random stranger and insult them, that's harassment, those insults I mentioned are simply part of the tomato debate media. Some media says that because you can't tell whether tomatoes are fruit or vegetables, you shouldn't eat them, whereas others say it's ok to eat tomatoes. Anyway, here's a list of fruit and vegetables:
1: Lemons
2: oranges
3: tangerines
4: tomatoes
5: zucchini
6: potatoes
7: bananas
8: strawberries
9: cherries

11: grapes
12: melons
13: pears
14: apples
15: cabbage
