Chapter 4: For a better Gaia

Tree City, Centralia.
January 9, 2020.

"Let's explore this place!", said Samantha, very happy and excited.

"This place is much cooler [in temperature] than Chéngshì", noticed Uli.

"That's true, it feels so much better!", said Samantha, smiling happily.

"Now what?", asked Uli, confused as to what to do now.

"Uli! We have an infinite reality to explore! Isn't it exciting?", said Samantha, really happy. Uli smiled.

"Yeah, I agree", he said, smiling.

They started walking through the "streets".

"Why are there no roads here?", asked Samantha, confused.

"I'm not sure. I perceive a weird atmosphere here. Let's be careful about what we do, okay?", said Uli, a bit worried about social norms. Samantha nodded in approval.

They kept walking. It looked like it was a very poor place.

"Pst, is that girl from Gaia?", asked Samantha to Kxem, whispering.

"I don't know, I doubt it, let's ask her anyway", said Kxem, shrugging.

Samantha was a bit shy but she managed to ask her anyway.

"Me? No, I was born here, but I know someone from Gaia", said that girl, "My name is Miyoko", she explained.

"That name...", said Samantha, shocked. A Gaian name.

"What's up with my name?", asked Miyoko.

"It's not a typical Centralian name... also, you said you know a person from Gaia. Can I see them?", asked Samantha.

"Lauren and her friends left the place yesterday. They went to a better town in Centralia, but I don't know where. I'm sorry for that", said Miyoko.

"That's bad. Do you know anything about Gaia?", asked Samantha.

"Yes, I know a lot about Gaia", said Miyoko.

Uli, Kxem, Samantha and Miyoko kept walking through the streets, chatting a bit about how they are able to travel across realities.

"Excuse me", said a young girl, "what is Gaia?", she asked, smiling.

"It's the reality I previously lived in. I'm glad I escaped from it. It's really bad", Samantha explained.

"Why is it bad?", asked the girl.

"Kxem, you know it better than me", Samantha said, implicitly asking him to explain the story.

"Okay", said Kxem, "The story is gonna be long. It all started around 5,000 years ago, in a place called Mesopotamia, when Gaians discovered how to write. That was the beginning of Gaia's history. The first civilizations formed in a certain region now roughly called Middle East. Life then was pretty bad, but they had no other choice. Technology was extremely limited. Many things about their laws remain unclear, so let's fast forward a little bit. Let's say civilizations after a couple thousand years evolved in other regions of Gaia. You might ask how life was back then. It was pretty bad, but you can consider it as being better than now in certain aspects, for example ancient civilizations were much more open in sexuality than the current countries. I know I'm not explaining very well, so, let me finish the story. You will understand at the end. In ancient civilizations, slavery was commonplace and the punishments for breaking the laws were very harsh, often resulting in the death of the criminal...", explained Kxem, until he got interrupted.

"I think you're being too vague", suggested Uli, "Remember, this girl knows nothing about Gaia", he continued.

"Okay, okay. Well, there are 7 continents in Gaia. Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania and Antarctica. I don't have a map now so please bear with me. The first civilizations were formed in an area called Middle East, between Africa and Asia. Then civilizations spread across the planet. Anyway, life was pretty bad back then. Slavery and poverty were common, also laws were very strict and they would put you to death for various reasons. The first civilizations were for example in Crete and Egypt. There was a not so ancient civilization, though, that played a very important role in shaping what the world is now. They were the Romans. Rome was built around 2750 years ago in a part of Europe called Italian peninsula. It was not very important in the beginning, but basically Gaia as we know it was influenced by this civilization. In the beginning it was just a small town, but after about four hundred years, it started rapidly getting bigger. Something was indeed happening. They began conquering the rest of the Italian peninsula, then, they conquered a huge part of Europe and North Africa. Around 2000 years ago, a religion called Christianity was spreading in Rome. Unfortunately, Christians were harshly persecuted by the Romans. Many Christians died. It took around three hundred years, in 4th century A.D. for Christianity to finally become legal by decision of the emperor Constantine in 313 A.D. Many churches were built and Christians could finally profess their religion. Something weird happened on the end of that century, though. With the Edict of Thessalonica in 380 A.D. Christianity became the only allowed religion in Rome. I suppose nobody knew the horrors that would come in the next thousand years because of Christianity. During the 7th century, a new religion, now the second religion of Gaia after Christianity, was founded by Muhammad and expanded in much of the Arabian peninsula, north Africa and Spain. Something was about to happen, with those two huge territories controlled by two powerful religions. Christianity was spreading in previously pagan northern Europe. Let's say it was engulfing the whole of Europe. Then, in the 11th century, something horrible happened: the Crusades. They were extremely bloody wars between Christians and Muslims that lasted for roughly 200 years. It was horrible, indeed, but perhaps the most disgusting thing of Christianity happened a century later. The Inquisition", said Kxem, with a scary tone.

The girl was curious as to what this "Inquisition" was. The story wasn't disturbing the girl so far.

"The Inquisition aimed to kill everyone who express an opinion that Christianity didn't allow. So many innocent people were tortured and killed, and it's a thing that should never be forgotten! The Inquisition lasted for around 700 years before they finally stopped killing innocent people. I must imagine it was so scary for Europeans to live in that era. To think it only stopped around 200 years ago gives me nightmares. If you want an example: Giordano Bruno was burned alive in 1600 for saying opinions about the Universe that were contrary to what the Catholic Church allowed. Anyway, due to colonization by Europeans, Christianity spread in the Americas, Oceania, and some parts of Africa and Asia, becoming the largest religion in the world. Luckily, in the 20th century, Europe started getting more secular, that is, Christianity was no more the religion of the state, but a new threat was rising. Three horrible ideologies spread in the 20th century: Fascism, Nazism, and Communism. Well, there were also two huge wars in the 20th century along with plenty of genocides. Basically, all of these three ideologies gave rise to authoritarian governments where dissent was punished by death. Fascism and Nazism don't exist anymore, at least not as governments, but Communism still does in so many countries. We live in 2020 now and... the 21st century is bringing a lot of surprises. It didn't start well, as terrorists were killing people for, like, no reason at all, and they still do it to be honest. Things are getting better for LGBT people worldwide but there are still many improvements to do, especially in most Islamic countries where if you have same-sex relationships you can be imprisoned, tortured or put to death. Western countries are the best ones so far, but things might change and we'll probably have a better Gaia in a few decades. Also in the 21st century technology has improved a lot, and we can do so many fun things with Internet", explained Kxem.

"Interesting", said the girl, "What do Gaians behave like?", she asked.

"They're kinda like Centralians, they just hate talking about sex, politics and religion, that's all", explained Kxem.

"Can we visit it one day?", asked the girl.

"No, it would be too dangerous", warned Kxem.

"I understand. My name is Frefa, by the way", she said, smiling.

"My name is Kxem. She's Samantha, he's Uli and she's Miyoko", said Kxem, happy, "Do you want to explore Centralia with us?"

"Yeah, it would be nice", said Frefa, smiling.

They all agreed to be a group of travellers. They kept walking through the streets, Frefa was deciding to explore Centralia with them starting from tomorrow morning and they would just walk through the streets together like friends for as long as they could handle it. Frefa wanted to know more about Gaia. She asked herself what is the role of Christianity in Gaia today. She was happy that the Inquisition was over, but still, so many bad things were happening, such as homosexual getting tortured or put to death by some governments. Kxem didn't explain things very well, though. He had been vague but that's understandable considering he covered more than five thousand years of history.

"You said some governments arrest or torture homosexuals. Why do they do that? It doesn't make any sense! Those governments are evil!", said Frefa, confused and angry.

"That's because of religion. Western countries used to be like that, too", explained Kxem.

"Can't they ban religion?", asked Frefa.

"That would be no good. I think everyone should have the right to practice whatever religion they want, as long as they don't act on the most hateful parts of them. For example, Islam is based on five pillars: the declaration of your faith, praying five times a day, giving charity, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and pilgrimage to Mecca. As you can see, by following these rules you're not harming anyone, so why would anyone ban it? The problem is when a religion is the religion of the state, instead of the country being secular. Currently, only three religions are like that: Christianity, Islam and Buddhism. In some countries, Islam is mandatory and there's no freedom of religion for other beliefs. In my opinion, all religions should be equal and governments should be secular. It's really tough being an atheist in an Islamic country, you can be jailed, lashed, and you suffer from a lot of psychological abuse", explained Kxem.

"It's horrible! Why can't people be nicer to each other?", asked Frefa, naively.

"Gaians are often hateful. I don't know why it's like that. People in western countries used to be racist, like, hating someone because of the continent they were born in. Luckily, racism in Gaia has decreased a lot but sadly it's still there. It's a silly reason to hate another person because of their, uhm... race, as Gaians call it. People also hate each other because of their religion. Atheists and christians are the most hated groups, and in some places muslims are also hated. Religious minorities often face persecutions by the governments. What Gaians don't understand is that they're doing a wrong thing to hate each other for their beliefs. I hope one day Gaians will stop hating each other for such meaningless reasons, and that the governments will stop being so tyrannical. I don't expect Gaia to become a paradise, but when it will improve, let's visit it all together, we'll have fun", said Kxem, smiling.

"Is there anything Gaians can do to improve their society?", asked Frefa.

"I'm not sure about that. Governments in Gaia are way too powerful. Few people have been brave enough to stand up to them, and some of these people have been arrested. Luckily many people, called human rights activists, are fighting for a better world", explained Kxem.

"Are they being successful?", asked Frefa.

"Ehm... kinda. LGBT rights are improving in many countries, for example", said Kxem.

"What are LGBT rights?", asked Frefa.

"The rights of LGBT people, that means gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders. For some strange reasons, those people have been discriminated against for so long in Gaia, something that never happened in Centralia", explained Kxem.

"Except near the border with Homophobistan", said Uli, correcting Kxem.

"Thank you Uli", said Kxem, smiling.

"Any other useless reason why Gaians hate, other than race, religion and sexuality?", asked Frefa.

"Gaians hate each other for stupid reasons, really. Like, if you wear clothes they consider weird, they will hate you. If you cuddle in public, they will hate you. Sometimes governments will even torture you for cuddling in public. It happened last year in Aceh province", explained Kxem.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Can Gaians stop being so hateful?", asked Frefa.

"I hope so. Some Gaians are really nice people, and I hope they will be able to change Gaia", said Kxem, hopeful.

"We can only hope, it's Gaians' duty to improve the world they're living in, not ours. We'll travel to better places and live a happy life. There might be worse places than Gaia anyway", said Frefa, smiling.

"Some good places had a dark past", said Uli, knowing a place like that.

"Really?", said Frefa.

"There's a place called Forgivemeistan, that used to be horrible until 70 years ago. It's a really good place now. I know a person from there", explained Uli.

"Let's talk about Gaia again. Kxem, you talked about... western countries being better than the others. Are they good?", asked Frefa.

"Uhm... it depends by what you mean by western. Some people include countries like Japan, although I think that's a bit of a stretch. But generally, I'd say they're better than the other countries, but still not good. There's a particularly bad western country called the United States of America, where in many cities there are dangerous neighborhoods where you can get shot easily, by civilians or police officers. Police in the United States is extremely brutal: many people get shot by the police, and police officers usually face no punishment if they kill someone. They will also torture you with electric shocks and a lot of other bad stuff. The United States also have the highest incarceration rate in the world. There's another problem there, but, to be fair, it's a problem that is widespread in the whole Gaia. That problem is called psychiatry. Psychiatry exists in Centralia as well, but in Gaia it's different. In Gaia, psychiatry is coercitive, that means you are forced to take the medications, whether you want it or not. Psychiatry can help, sure, but it can also destroy people's lives, especially if they give you antipsychotics or benzodiazepines, you'll experience hell. I don't want to generalize, but, I found most Gaians I met to be rude. However, there are good things in Gaia, too!", said Kxem.

"Which good things?", asked Frefa, happy.

"Let's be clear here: Gaia is really bad, but you can have some happy moments in there, too. Even in hellish dystopias such as North Korea and Saudi Arabia you can feel hope for the future. Hope never dies. Gaia is actually getting a bit better each year. The worst countries are changing fast and everyone is hoping for the best. There's hope that two people of the opposite gender will be able to hug each other happily in the streets of Riyadh without anyone complaining, torturing or arresting them. The European Union is mostly okay, even though Italy's urban infrastructure is really bad and can't even compare to the one of Northern Europe. I went to a small town in Italy once and in most places there was no sidewalk, which is dangerous to pedestrians considering there is a lot of car traffic. Some parts of the town were actually inaccessible due to the lack of sidewalk. A pedestrian's life is tough in Italy. Considering people use cars even when there's no need to, one can see most places in Italy weren't thought for pedestrians, even though this is rapidly changing and it's becoming much better now. To be fair, Centralia can be really bad as well. Anyway, as I said, a hope for a better Gaia is there. It's thanks to brave people that stands up for people's rights that Gaia is improving! But, you know what? Only time will tell if Gaia will improve as much as we think. I feel like it will need less than 30 years to finally become a really good place! Imagine, a Gaia with no more wars, no more authoritarian governments, full of kind people that don't hate each other, less cars, no more tortures and physical punishments, everyone will be free to practice any religion they want and live a happy life. Gaia will be good one day, I know it", said Kxem, with a hoping daydreaming smile.

"Tree City is not a good place either", said Frefa, serious.

"What's wrong?", asked Kxem, curious and worried.

"There's a lot of hunger, poverty, alcoholism and drug addiction here, and people are really mean", explained Frefa.

"Chéngshì is good, so I thought all of Centralia was like that. Only now I realize how diverse Centralia actually is", said Kxem, all of his beliefs being shattered.

"We'll find a good place one day", said Frefa, smiling gently.

"Yeah", said Kxem, happy.

"But still", said Uli, "I feel sorry for the ones living in bad places of Pan. I used to live in one, Eproctophiliophobistan, and trust me, it felt horrible. Now I feel happy for myself, but sad for others"

"Don't worry Uli, you can't be sad for everyone who feels bad. You're having a good time now, don't let your thoughts ruin it", said Samantha, smiling. "Hug?", she suggested.

Samantha and Uli hugged each other for 40 seconds and both felt really good.

"You're right, Samantha, I really need to only think about my feelings sometimes", said Uli, smiling.

"That's great!", said Samantha, cheering Uli up. Uli smiled.

"Hey Kxem", said Frefa, "Would you say now is the best moment in Gaia's history?"

"I would say so. Human rights are the best Gaia has experienced so far, plus with the aid of technology, people can know what's going on. Many Gaians are trying to make their world a better place to live in", explained Kxem, "and they will win".

"Will we ever return to Gaia?", asked Samantha, feeling lost, almost crying by homesickness.

"I don't know, Samantha. Do you miss it already?", asked Kxem.

"I do. I miss my friends, I miss my hometown. I know Gaia is a bad place, but it was the normality. Centralia is so weird", said Samantha, blushing.

"I understand how you feel, trust me", said Uli, "I kinda miss Eproctophiliophobistan too. There's that weird pleasant feeling when you hope for a better life, and a weird bitter feeling when the better life comes. Like, now that I'm happy, I feel like my adventure is over. There's no point of hoping and desiring anymore if you already have what you wish. It really feels like everything is over", said Uli. Samantha smiled.

"I do miss home, but, I have to accept this is my new life, and we'll have lots of fun together", said Samantha, hugging Uli and rubbing his back. Uli felt really good.

"I'm glad we're all friends now", said Kxem, smiling. Samantha giggled and hugged Kxem, too.

"Can I hug you, Frefa and Miyoko?", asked Samantha.

"No thanks", said Miyoko, smiling.

"It's okay to me", said Frefa.

Samantha hugged Frefa but it only lasted a couple seconds.

"I want to return to Gaia", said Samantha, sighing.

"It's too dangerous, you know it. I'm sorry. Being a traveller can make you homesick, I know. We'll be always here for you, Samantha. We're like a family", said Kxem, trying to cheer Samantha up.

Samantha smiled. She really misses her family and friends, but she has to accept life changes over time, sometimes drastically. She placed her hand on her heart, sighed, smiled and said:"I'm ready to travel with you guys and girls!"

Uli, Kxem and Frefa smiled. Kxem chuckled randomly.

"What's wrong?", asked Samantha, curious.

"I just thought about how Gaians find violence more acceptable than sex and nudity in videogames and movies", said Kxem.

"Is that true?", asked Frefa, confused.

"Yeah", Samantha confirmed.

"That's weird", said Frefa, laughing.

"Pan has everything, even the weirdest things", explained Uli.

"Yeah, but this is extreme weirdness. Considering a pleasant thing shameful, and a painful thing acceptable. Gaians are so confused about reality", said Kxem.

Samantha was feeling a bit uncomfortable with Kxem's harsh criticism towards Gaians and their culture. She wanted to tell Kxem that the things he was saying were a bit offensive, but she didn't tell him. She listened to the offensive things Kxem had to say and felt worse and worse.

"Many countries in Latin America have the highest murder rate in the world. Europeans think they live in the best countries in their world. They do, but it's like comparing a mosquito bite with a wasp sting, mosquito bites are better, but still undesiderable", said Kxem.

Samantha was about to cry. She has heard enough criticism by now, and she was feeling so ashamed to be a Gaian. "(It's not my fault if Gaians are like that)", she thought, trying to cheer herself up. No use, she was a Gaian, an inferior human compared to Centralians (that's what she thought), and everything she did was invalidated by this thought.

"Gaians preach tolerance and respect, but they're the first ones to hate people whom they disagree with", said Kxem.

"(That's true)", she thought, "(I will never be as good as a Centralian person, no matter how hard I try)".

She needed to cry but resisted the urge. She was deeply ashamed of being a Gaian. "(I thought I was different than the other Gaians, but I'm the same as them)", she thought.

Samantha kept herself silent while Kxem kept saying hateful things towards Gaians. Kxem wasn't aware of the fact the things he was saying were very offensive and discriminatory, so he kept saying them, and Samantha kept feeling worse everytime a new bad things about Gaians was said. She wanted to be born in Centralia and never hear about Gaia, but unfortunately there's no denying the truth: she was a Gaian, and she needed to accept this uncomfortable truth. "(I'm just a dirty and evil Gaian after all)", she thought, with tears almost falling down.

"There are children starving in Africa, but Gaians don't care. They only care about buying the newest smartphone", said Kxem.

Samantha was very close to crying, and a tear fell from her eye but she quickly wipes it away. Kxem didn't notice Samantha was feeling really sad.

"Did I mention the 2 million people put in horrible concentration camps in China, just because they're muslims? Gaians don't talk about these things. They're heartless", said Kxem.

Frefa noticed Samantha was feeling bad, and she (Frefa) knew the reason. Kxem's offensive speech against Gaians included Samantha, because she's a "heartless" Gaian, the same category Kxem was repeatedly insulting. Samantha was well receiving of Kxem's criticism at the beginning, but now it's getting overwhelming.

"Not to mention Italians are so snobbish: they think their food is the best in the whole Gaia! Well, no, Italian food is bland like their culture. Except pizza, I love pizza!", said Kxem, "Italy has to be the worst country in the European Union! Rude racist people everywhere, not to mention criminals stealing children from parents and abusing them", he added, "Not that Gaians are good in general... Gaians are rude in every country"

After that sentence, Samantha was feeling lost. Was she really as rude as Kxem was saying? "(I don't deserve any happiness. People in my planet are suffering so much, and I didn't even worry about them. I'm a horrible person)", she thought, about to cry.

"Gaians kill each other for no reason sometimes", said Kxem.

"(But... I'm not like that. Sure, there are really bad Gaians out there, but not every Gaian is like that. I'm not like that at all. I'm a nice, good and kind person. I would never harm anyone)", she thought, trying to cheer herself up.

Kxem was still insulting Gaians, sentence after sentence, and Samantha was feeling offended. She's a Gaian, but she's totally against violence. She didn't want to be compared to the worst Gaians. Everyone should be held responsible for their own action, not for other people's actions. Kxem's anti-Gaian bigotry was getting out of control, but Kxem was feeling good in criticizing Gaia. Eventually, he stopped stating facts, and just said very offensive adjectives referring to Gaians.

"Gaians are a cancer", said Kxem.

Samantha started crying.

"Kxem! I'm a Gaian! Why do you keep saying bad things about us? I try to be a good person, I would never harm anyone!", said Samantha, crying and running away. Uli followed her.

"Yeah, Kxem, that was a bit too much", said Frefa.

Kxem suddenly felt really guilty and ashamed of himself. He only now realized how offensive and hateful his speech became.

"I mean, you're just as hateful what you say Gaians are", said Frefa.

Kxem was really sad. He didn't mean any harm in saying those things.

"I'm sorry", he said, looking at the ground, realizing how bad he was being. He was feeling a lot of shame now.

"You should go to her and say sorry. Everyone makes mistakes, don't be sad", said Frefa, smiling.

"It's so hard to say I'm sorry", said Kxem, sad.

"Just say it", said Frefa.

Kxem was starting to cry. He realized he was being the hateful person he harshly criticized.

"It's okay to cry", said Frefa, hugging him, "It's okay to make mistakes. We all do. Nobody is perfect. Just apologize and try to be a better person by learning from your mistakes", she continued.

Kxem didn't want to admit he made a mistake, even though he knew he did. He wanted to get out of this situation as soon as possible, and the only way to get out was to apologize. He didn't want his relationship between him and Samantha to be lost forever. He knew he could solve everything. He just had to say "I'm sorry" to Samantha.

In the meanwhile, Uli was talking to Samantha.

"I'm sure Kxem didn't mean to say those offensive things. You know, your speech can get out of control sometimes. I know Kxem doesn't hate you. He would never want to hurt your feelings. He didn't say those things to hurt you. It was just a misunderstanding", said Uli, trying to cheer Samantha up.

"I hope so, but the things he said deeply hurt my feelings", said Samantha, crying.

Uli hugged her and tried to make her feel better.

"Shh... everything will be okay", he said, hugging her and smiling.

"I didn't want to be a Gaian", said Samantha, crying.

"There's nothing wrong in being born in a certain place. Be proud of yourself!", said Uli, smiling.

Samantha was feeling a bit better but still, is being Gaian as bad as Kxem said? Samantha thought that maybe Kxem was a hateful person and that he's projecting his hate on Gaians. Kxem is usually nice, why did he say those mean things? Samantha couldn't answer her own question.

"Thank you, Uli. But I guess it's true that most Gaians are bad people. I'm ashamed", said Samantha, sad.

"Don't be ashamed. You're very nice, why would you be ashamed for something done by someone else?", said Uli, smiling.

Samantha understood that, even though she was part of a group of people, she was only responsible for her own actions, not somebody else's.

"You are right, Uli. I just hope I can be friends with Kxem again", said Samantha.

"You can. Kxem likes being your friend, trust me", said Uli, cheerful.

Samantha smiled, she felt better again. She understood that Kxem didn't mean to be offensive and that he's a good person after all. Samantha knew that Kxem likes being with her, and that even though she's a Gaian, that doesn't mean Kxem hates her, and she's not a bad person either. Samantha breathed calmly and looked at the horizon. She was feeling happy and relaxed. She knew she would have been friends with Kxem forever.

"Look, Kxem is coming!", said Uli, smiling.

Samantha looked at Kxem, she smiled at him. Kxem still thought Samantha was angry at him.

"I'm sorry!", said Kxem, with his heart beating fast. Samantha smiled.

"Don't worry, it's not a big deal. We're friends! Wanna hug?", asked Samantha, smiling happily.

"Are you sure I still deserve one of your hugs?", asked Kxem, ashamed.

"You're a good friend, never forget this. Can I hug you?", asked Samantha.

"Okay", said Kxem, feeling like he didn't deserve any love. He insulted Gaians after all.

Samantha hugged Kxem for an entire minute, and he felt much better.

"I'm sorry, Samantha. I will never insult Gaians again", said Kxem, smiling.

"It's okay, buddy", said Samantha, messing with his hair playfully.

"Now what?", asked Kxem.

"Let's walk through the streets again and chat. We'll have lots of fun together!", said Samantha, happy. Kxem smiled and everything was solved. Neither Kxem nor Samantha wanted their friendship to break. Uli and Frefa were both happy to see Samantha and Kxem friends again.

"I love your hugs, Samantha. They feel wonderful", said Kxem, blushing.

"What about my hugs?", asked Uli, smiling.

"You can hug me, too", said Kxem, smiling.

"What about mine?", asked Frefa.

"You can hug me as well", said Kxem.

"Let's all hug each other!", said Samantha.

It was a hug fest, everyone was hugging each other and they were all very happy. They were all trying to forget the misunderstandings that happened earlier and gave value to forgiveness and friendship. Everything was going very well and everyone was happy. After the hug fest was over, everyone felt really relaxed and calm. They got to know each other, and that's what friendship is about, you can be yourself with your friends. You can tell them everything about you and they won't judge you. Having a friend is like finding heaven, even in the worst places of Pan having a friend can milden your suffering. They were all standing close together, looking at the town. Miyoko announced she won't travel with them.

"I have to go now", said Miyoko, "I have a life to live here in Tree City, so I cannot travel with you guys. I'm sorry", she said "Have a good life, farewell", she said, leaving.

Everyone was a bit sad but they respected her decision.

"I want to rest a little bit now. Kxem, please summon your multiship!", said Samantha.

"Wait, I'll add one room for Frefa", said Kxem, and then he summoned it.

"You can go in there", said Kxem, smiling.

The four travellers entered the multiship.

"Anyway, Kxem, it's okay if you criticize Gaia. I just took your criticism too personally. I know you weren't talking about me. You were talking about the bad stuff that happens in Gaia. You were right, Kxem, Gaia is not a good place, and it's filled with bad people. I know you don't hate people just because they're Gaian", said Samantha, hugging Kxem.

"Okay, thank you, but I won't criticize Gaia anymore, because we left Gaia and we'll never come back! Let's forget about that place", said Kxem, smiling.

Kxem wanted to talk about criminal organizations in Italy stealing children from families and abusing them, but now it's over. He felt really sorry for those children, but he can't feel sorry for everyone in Pan. He knew he had to focus on positive stuff.

Samantha smiled.

"It's okay, Kxem", said Samantha, hugging.

"So, Frefa, that is your room", said Kxem, opening the door.

"Cool!", said Frefa, excited.

"I'm glad you like it", said Kxem, happy.

A new adventure was about to happen, where will they end up next? Only going there will tell.

"Shall we go somewhere else? Are you guys ready?", asked Kxem.

"Not yet", said Samantha, "I want to stay a little bit in this cozy multiship", she said.

"That's cool. Let's chat and have fun!", said Kxem, smiling.

They were four travellers: Samantha, Kxem, Uli and Frefa. Kxem wondered if things were going to be fine. Being a traveller is never easy, and Kxem wanted to tell that to Frefa.

"Uli, please come in my room, I have a present for you~", said Samantha in a sexy voice. Frefa thought they were going to have sex.

Uli went to Samantha's room and she closed the door. Everything was okay until Frefa heard a weird sound.

*PPPBBBFFFRRRTTTRRRFFFBBBPPP*

It was very loud, and Frefa laughed. Kxem knocked at their door.

"You can come in, no worries~", said Samantha, giggling, "eheheh"...

"We can?", said Frefa, surprised.

"Sure!", said Samantha, giggling.

Frefa opened the door and was shocked seeing Samantha sitting on Uli's nose.

"What the hell are you doing?", asked Frefa, confused.

"She's just playing a game with Uli. He has to smell her farts", explained Kxem.

"Do they always do this?", asked Frefa.

"I suppose", said Kxem.

"My farts are certified stinky!", said Samantha, proud of herself.

"What does that even mean?", asked Frefa, more confused than before.

"In my city there is a building called Ëļōðĝɔ, where they rate people's farts. The average fart smell is 1.0, and Samantha's farts are rated 3.2 that means her farts are really stinky", said Kxem.

"That's weird and disgusting, but it's okay if they like it I guess", said Frefa, accepting their kinks.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

This fart was really stinky and it instantly stunk up the inside of Uli's nostrils. He didn't want to complain, though, he wanted to be tough and take the farts like a brave person. He kept sniffing but the smell was horrible, it stunk like rotten broccoli. He didn't want to look weak so he kept inhaling the poison-like gas to not look weak in front of Kxem ans Frefa.

"Kxem, I think Uli's dying from the smell down there", said Frefa, giggling but also worried. Uli was embarrassed.

"I'm okay. These farts are nothing compared to what I can take!", said Uli, proud of himself, even though those farts were too stinky for him already, the smell alone was making him want to gag, but he didn't, because he wanted to look brave, he wanted to look brave enough to stand the smell of any smell of female flatulence.

In the meanwhile, Kxem was undecided. He decided to stop criticizing Gaia, but isn't condemning "hate speech" a Gaian trick to prevent dissent and let Gaia keep being evil? "(Gaia will never get better if no one criticizes it)", thought Kxem. Kxem didn't hate Gaians, quite the contrary, he criticized Gaia because he loves Gaians. If no one tells you're doing wrong stuff, how are you supposed to learn from your mistakes? "(Gaian governments are fully aware they're evil, but they don't want to stop)", he thought. He thought that, even though there are infinite places worse than Gaia: Gaia can still improve. He was sure about that.

"Samantha... I need to tell you something. Gaia is a truly bad place and I'll never stop criticizing it. If no one ever complains, Gaia will never change. I'll just stop criticizing Gaia all the time", said Kxem.

"It's okay, Kxem. I promise I won't take it personally anymore", said Samantha, smiling, "nnnggghhh..."

*pppbbfffttt*

Uli was metaphorically dying under Samantha's ass. Her gas was so smelly he was going crazy by sniffing it. He decided to be brave and keep smelling it for several hours. He knew he could do that! He tried to convince himself her farts weren't that stinky after all, even though that was hard to believe, because the smell was really rancid and spoiled. Samantha could smell it from up there, and she couldn't imagine how bad it smelled down there. Uli made a sour face as if he was eating lemons.

"Are you okay, Uli?", asked Frefa.

"Yes! Didn't you know I'm brave?", said Uli, proud of himself, even though the smell was killing him.

"Can I get closer next time you fart? I want to know how smelly it is", said Frefa.

"Sure girl!", said Samantha, giggling.

Frefa could smell it a little bit, but she didn't know how bad it would smell close to the source of that putrid stench. She was curious, and she wanted to try it, even though she was too embarrassed to admit it.

"Come here, Frefa!~ eheheh", said Samantha, giggling.

Frefa stood in front of Samantha. She (Frefa) was ready to smell her (Samantha's) fart.

*pppbbuuurrrttt*

Frefa took a whiff and was surprised by how smelly Samantha's farts were, and she had to take a step back.

"Uli! How can you handle it?", asked Frefa, shocked.

"I don't know... peee-uuu!!! I just do!", said Uli, complaining about the smell.

His eyes were watering but still he knew he could do that. He could handle some stink. Even if that "some stink" meant "the worst smell he had ever smelled". Uli was really happy to finally smell something as challenging as this. He didn't want to have it easy at all, and he's happy that finally a girl is pleasing his innermost desire. He considers himself really lucky: not only he managed to escape from Eproctophiliophobistan, he also found a girl who made his wish come true. He couldn't be any happier than this, his life was heaven, but he knew not everywhere in Centralia is gold: social norms can be extremely confusing, and ostracism can be a serious problem in Centralia, but that didn't matter, all that matters is that he got plenty of gas to inhale into his lungs.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

The flatulent fumes were noxious and breathing them in was disgusting and painful, but still, there was something pleasant in doing that. Uli couldn't understand why he liked that: he just did. During his childhood in Eproctophiliophobistan, he had never smelled any girl's fart, and that was understandable, considering indulging in someone else's fart fetish was punishable by death there, so everyone was careful not to fart in front of anyone. On the normal Internet there were no fart fetish videos or games, and because of that, Uli developed seriously good technology skills at an early age, and now he's working on a tool that will permit him to choose where to go instead of randomly exploring Centralia. That tool analyzes the quantum particles of the surrounding reality. Uli became a scientist because of his fart fetish in an eproctophiliophobic country.

He needs some rest from working on scientific stuff sometimes, and smelling Samantha's super stinky farts was pleasant enough for Uli to call that "rest".

He felt like he was in heaven, but in truth he was just inside a multiship room under a girl's butt. That heavenly aroma permeated his senses and he could only focus on that smell, as if everything else disappeared completely. Samantha was also very happy to have someone smelling her farts up close, and also she didn't expect having a nose touching her anus would feel that good. Uli was breathing the gas in, gagging a bit, and enjoying the moment wholeheartedly, no matter how bad it stunk.

Samantha didn't expect anyone to be able to endure the stench of her farts, even though she knew there were infinite people in Pan who could. To think Pan contains everything sounds a bit disturbing, but it is the way it is. Samantha still wasn't proud to be a Gaian, but she was proud of being the person she is, including the fact that her farts smell really bad. Especially that.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

She farted again, and Uli's eyes were watering from the noxious stench of rotten vegetables that were emitted from Samantha's ass, which could be considered a weapon, especially when used to punish someone (which would be illegal in Centralia anyway). There is surely somewhere in Pan where moms punish their kids by farting on their faces. Pan has everything you can think of, after all. Uli was feeling like his lungs were burning and rotting at the same time, but he loved that moment. He loved to suffer from Samantha's toxic farts. He didn't know why, though. Having a fart fetish was really weird for him, but he couldn't help it. Samantha's farts reek so bad. Uli was feeling so good he was jokingly worried that could have been a dream, but luckily it's not, and that was good news, because he was smelling the stinkiest and only farts he has ever smelled from a girl.

Uli wasn't even thinking about his dark past now, he was really enjoying the moment and wished for it to last forever.

"Kxem, could you please put 'A day in Heaven' by Angelwings? It's a relaxing post-rock song that would be fitting", said Uli.

"Sure", said Kxem, playing that song.

From now on, everything was feeling surreally good. Due to the music, Uli was almost crying. He felt really loved like never before in his life, at least not in Eproctophiliophobistan. His senses of hearing and smell were the most stimulated at the moment, and he loved every single thing of this moment. The song was very fitting, it was like a day in heaven, indeed. He hoped he would get more than one day in heaven, though. He hoped he would get a whole lifetime in heaven. He hoped he would get old with Samantha, Kxem and Frefa. He didn't want to worry about bad stuff happening anymore, because that should be a thing of the past, and being persecuted for having a fart fetish isn't a good thing at all, obviously, but that's what reality is like in Eproctophiliophobistan.

Kxem wanted to be in a better place as he was starting to realize Centralia was not the perfect utopia he thought it was. He thought that maybe the perfect place didn't and couldn't exist, but still naively searched for it, and he wouldn't stop until he'll find it! He knew very well that both Gaia and Centralia were mostly horrible places, and now that he knows about ostracism he hated Centralia more than he did before. He wondered how long will it take before finding the perfect place. Was it just a matter of time? He was getting tired of waiting for a better life, but then he realized the perfect life was here: Uli, Samantha and Frefa were his friends, and he knew he had to be grateful for that. He needed to thank Pan. He loves his friends, and seeing them all happy together made him feel warm and fuzzy. Samantha was happily farting on Uli's nose, he and Frefa were happily watching them having fun, and they all had fun together.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

Yet another fart from Samantha's butt and Uli was in utter joy and ecstasy. Kxem decided to only think positively from now. Yes, there are infinite suffering people in Pan, but Kxem couldn't do anything about it, so he decided not to think about those things anymore and only think about good stuff in life. Kxem needed a hug now.

"Can I hug you?", asked Kxem to Frefa. She smiled and hugged him. That room was like heaven and they all felt like their minds were engulfed by a happy fog and that they couldn't see any of the bad stuff. Unfortunately, the bad stuff is still there, and not seeing it will lead to bad consequences.

Pan was waiting for them, and they knew Pan's size was mindblowingly huge, as it was infinite. Centralia is infinite as well, but somehow it's smaller, maybe, since Centralia is contained within Pan, but Pan is a lot more than Centralia. Two infinites of a different magnitude? Math can be weird sometimes, but it represents reality, indeed.

Kxem was still confused as to whether he should keep criticizing Gaia: sure it was a hellish place, but perhaps to keep talking about it only brought negativity. They left that place now, and they're seeking for a better one. A quest for paradise, will they find it? Gaia is just a distant memory, just like Eproctophiliophobistan. They are two horrible countries ruled by greedy dictators. They have nice people, but that doesn't mean they're not horrible places to live in. No matter how good a few people in a place are, if you are ruled by a violent and cruel dictator as it is the case in Eproctophiliophobistan and many Gaian countries. Kxem initially felt weird when sex was considered taboo in Gaia, but then he realized parts of Centralia are sexophobic as well. Pan has to have everything, so it's obvious that a place like Gaia exists. To be fair, there can be worse than Gaia, but Kxem is passionate about Gaia because he lived there, and he knew something could be done to make people kinder and governments less cruel. He knew Gaia could be improved, but it's Gaians duty to do that, and Centralian people shouldn't interfer.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

Samantha farted again on Uli's nose. It stunk like rotten broccoli, which was weird, considering she didn't have any in the last few days, but that's how some farts smell like, nothing surprising. Uli was really happy and wished they could keep doing that forever. Frefa and Kxem were silently watching Samantha and Uli having fun. They were really happy: friendship is something that one should be grateful for and never take it for granted, because not everyone has a friend, and because you can lose it in the blink of an eye. Everything was perfect and they were all feeling each other's love. The atmosphere was really relaxing and once the song was over, a comfortable silence set in. Frefa and Kxem were hugging each other, and they felt happy and relaxed, just like Samantha and Uli. Their past, good or bad, was finally over, a new friendship is going to mark their lives from now on. They all hoped that this friendship was going to last forever, so they can keep travelling for their whole lives. At least, until they find the heaven they wanted to live in. Was the multiship itself the heaven they were looking for?

"Frefa, sometimes I think human life isn't interesting enough. I mean, what is there else to do than chatting with each other and surviving by eating, drinking and sleeping? Sometimes I wish life was much more dynamic and that there were so many more things to do", admitted Kxem.

"I think the purpose of life is being happy", said Frefa, rubbing Kxem's back. He smiled and was happy.

Kxem was indeed happy, but is there so much more to life than this? Kxem wanted to discover what Pan can offer. Will that mean Kxem will be sad and uncomfortable again after this moment ends? Being always happy makes you not feel as happy anymore. Living beings always seek for more, we are all driven by cravings that lead only to temporary satisfaction if fulfilled, just like hunger, thirst, and sleepiness. Those are all unpleasant states that cannot be removed forever. This is the second noble truth and we have to accept this condition, for it is human. Now, "most of" isn't a word that applies to Pan, as it is infinite, but we can say most conditions are deadly to humans and Gaian forms of life. Life, however, can thrive in Pan under deadly conditions for humans. Math, however, is the same in every part of Pan. You can't have a triangle whose sum of internal angles is different than 180 degrees.

"Numbers are the essence of all things" (Pythagoras)

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

Samantha farted again. At this point, Uli didn't know how longer he could last, because the stench was almost unbearable. He loved it, but only for a short amount of time. He wasn't liking it anymore, since it was lasting too long, but he was afraid to tell Samantha, because he feared that if he told her, she wouldn't fart on his face nevermore.

Uli was so happy, he was having exactly what he wanted, but the smell was a bit rancid. Still, he loved this moment and wanted it to never end. Even though the smell was annoying him, he still loved being under Samantha's ass and would never trade if for his past life in Eproctophiliophobistan.

Kxem and Frefa were holding each other's hands and looking at each other's eyes, feeling calm and relaxed. Inside that multiship, it seemed like every problem disappeared, except perhaps that Samantha was stinking up the room, even though the smell was still somewhat bearable for Kxem and Frefa. They were having a lot of fun, and Kxem considered waiting a little bit more before going into another centralian city to keep exploring Centralia, because seizing the day is very important as life is too short to waste any time. Life sometimes is what you make of it. Sometimes, if you really want something, just ask for it. Sometimes, if you really want to do something (harmless), just do it.

Uli risked his life to escape from Eproctophiliophobistan, and now he thanks Pan not only for saving him, but also for having his wish granted. Sometimes Pan can be merciful, sometimes Pan can be cruel. It really depends on how lucky you are, as the quantum particles decide every outcome of your life.

*pruuut*

This fart was small but its smell was intense. Uli was getting nauseous but he wanted to prove he was strong and brave enough to withstand Samantha's farts, but honestly he was almost knocked out. He couldn't last much longer but he'll try to last for as long as he can, because he knows he's brave enough.

"I'm so gassy~", said Samantha, giggling in a childlish voice.

Uli was so happy, that Samantha indulged in his pleasures, and hoped she could always do that for the rest of his life, okay... maybe not, he couldn't imagine a 75 years old Samantha farting on him, "ewww", he thought. But still, for at least 10 more years. Still, he wanted to be friends with Samantha for the rest of his life, even though she won't fart on his face anymore.

Kxem and Frefa were watching Uli and Samantha having fun, but they weren't feeling jealous or anything, they were genuinely happy for they were having fun. Strangely, Kxem and Frefa were not feeling bored at all. Rather, they were feeling relaxed. It's crazy, these are nice feelings!

"I feel so good now, I want to sing", said Frefa.

"Okay girl!", said Kxem, smiling.

Frefa played an instrumental track she made about a week ago and started singing.

"No matter if it's outside is sunny or cloudy
The warmth of your love surrounds my body
Hey! What's wrong? Just smile and hug me
Everything is going to be alright if you do

Even if your summer is so cold, don't be sad
We will walk through the streets and chat
Inside our souls it's never gonna get dark
Let's hold each other's hands and dance"

"Nice song, Frefa", said Samantha, happy.

"Thank you, Samantha", said Frefa, glad she liked her song.

The facefarting won't last forever. Uli knew. Samantha knew. They had to make the most of it, but there will surely be another day where Samantha will fart on Uli's face. Exploring Centralia was a priority now, but they could still have fun in other ways.

Samantha couldn't contact people in Gaia anymore, because she would put herself at risk, if the Gaian NWO government knew about Samantha's position, they could find her and kill her. It's better for her to be careful and perhaps she shouldn't trust anyone, right? Kxem, Uli and Frefa looked trustworthy, though.

Samantha decided not to become paranoid, even though she had a right to be so. It's very unlikely that someone in Centralia knows about Gaia, but what if someone hijacks Kxem's multiship and brings her back to Gaia? That should never happen, Samantha knew that she was at risk, but still, she decided to seize the day and enjoy the moment, not thinking about the future. Samantha still had lots of gas left, so she farted in Uli's nose again.

*pppbbbfffrrrttt*

Samantha could feel Uli squirming under her ass. It was really nice to know her farts were almost unbearable, but she wanted them to be even stinkier. They were stinky enough and she had to accept that in Centralia and in Pan, there are no limits for anything, not even how stinky someone's farts can be. Samantha was thinking about the future of her adventures with the group, and she wondered whether they'll ever find a new place to stay forever, and maybe have a family with Kxem. It would be amazing, she thought. She could accept travelling forever, but she also wanted to have a family. With Kxem, or with Uli? That was the actual question. Both Kxem and Uli were really nice, but who is more sexually attractive? Samantha needed time to reflect on this, but eventually she should make a choice. Kxem or Uli? She was still young but time flies like an arrow, so she needs to choose quickly. Be quick, or be without family for the rest of your life. Samantha wanted to have kids and watch them grow up and live a happy life, but will that happen?

Samantha just needed to relax a little bit, and she was feeling very comfortable with Uli's nose between her buttcheeks. She thought it was hilarious to blast her natural stink bombs unto Uli's nostrils.

"Samantha, I... won't talk about Gaia anymore. I used to feel sorry for all those people there suffering, but then I realized I can't do anything about it. I shouldn't worry for every single person in Pan who is suffering. I should live a happy life and erase these thoughts about people suffering from my mind", said Kxem, smiling.

"If that's your choice, I respect it", said Samantha, serious.

Kxem smiled at Samantha: he was ready to live a happy new life, but he needed to really work hard on his mind to not think about the bad things that happen in Gaia. Pan has worse places than Gaia anyway, and always will have them, so there's no point in bothering. Even Centralia can be very messed up in some places.

Uli agreed with Kxem and he stopped worrying, too. Egocentrism is truly the best way, as they discovered. Uli was happy, and he shouldn't feel sad just because someone in Pan is being stabbed violently in the eye with a knife. Things were getting better as Kxem realized something about himself: that he should stop thinking about others. Only him, Samantha, Uli and Frefa matter now. They are like a family to him, and he loves them so much. They all loved each other, and being loved is what life is all about. 'Sure, some people don't get loved, but...' no! Kxem knew he must not think about that. Yeah, some people don't get loved, but Kxem doesn't care anymore, now he will only think about the four travellers. Anyone else is not worthy of his attention, because he can't worry about everyone in Pan. Infinite suffering people sure sounds a lot, but it can't be helped. There also are infinite happy people. There is infinite everything in Pan, so there's absolutely no point in worrying that much for a few hundred million people suffering in a remote part of Pan called Gaia.

Frefa was a bit shocked in learning what happened in Gaia, but soon she learned that Pan has everything in it, so even the most horrible things happen somewhere, but also very good things, and someone, somewhere, is living the life you've always been dreaming about. Pan has the perfect balance, and it cannot be changed. Is Gaia more good or more bad? It really depends on how you look at life, whether you see the glass half full or half empty. In the grand scheme of things, Gaia is not like some other truly awful places, it has some huge problems though. Kxem thought that purpose of life was seeking happiness, and that everyone deserves it. Unfortunately, suffering exists and it's part of an indeterminate amount of people's lives, but it can be different, because there are infinite people who never experienced suffering in their lives. Those are in heavenly words that could be reached by Kxem and the others. If only they had the coordinates... (Uli was already working on a tool that allows knowing the coordinates of places)

*pbfrt*

"Uh oh... I think I'm running out of gas", said Samantha, but still happy that she had this awesome experience with Uli.

Uli was very happy to have had this experience with Samantha as well, and was happy that he could finally breathe some fresh air, because it was a bit of a traumatizing experience for his nose, but still he had fun. As Samantha was running out of gas, the mood was changing, they were starting to get ready to explore uncharted regions of Centralia.

"I wonder where we'll end up next", said Kxem, touching his chin in sign of wondering.

"I hope we'll end up somewhere nice. People here in Tree City are so cold-hearted", said Frefa, wanting to experience really kind and smiling people.

"Yeah, we'll go as soon as I'll finish facefarting Uli~", said Samantha, biting her lips.

Kxem smiled and Samantha smiled back. Samantha knew that she had not much time to decide whether to be Uli or Kxem's girlfriend, and her heart was beating fast. Uli? Or Kxem? That was a tough question, and she needed some time, because the wrong choice can lead to unpleasant consequences. She was thinking, maybe Uli is better, because he wanted to smell her farts, while Kxem hates Samantha's farts. But Kxem is really nice. Samantha couldn't decide, but she had to. She saw Uli as a friend, and Kxem as a brother. She feels deeper emotions towards Kxem, but at the same time she has so much letting Uli smell her farts up close. Her brain says Uli but her heart says Kxem. What should she choose? She plans on deciding this month. January 2020. Now she should think just about having fun, because having fun is very important. There are infinite people who don't have any fun, and Samantha knew she should feel grateful. Her life in Gaia was about average, she had a few friends but her life as a traveller was much more exciting! She does miss Gaia somewhat, though. Now her family and friends are probably feeling worried about her disappearing from their lives, but she couldn't tell anyone, for her safety. She left without leaving any trace. What if the Gaian government knew about it? Granted, there are infinite realities where Samantha got caught by the Gaian soldiers and killed. She just happens to experience the one where she's still alive. How long will she stay safe, though? Samantha was starting to fear for her life, but she was positive that Kxem would protect it as he was able to teleport far away with his multiship.

*pbfrt* *pb* *pb*

"This might have been the last one I think?~", said Samantha, "Game Over~"

Uli was feeling very dizzy from the smell, and got out from Samantha's room to smell fresh air again. Kxem and Frefa got out as well, followed by Samantha. They went into the passenger's room and started chatting.

"I'm feeling nauseous", said Uli, wanting throw up.

"Of course! You smelt my farts for hours!~ haha!", said Samantha, giggling and laughing.

"Do you need a plastic bag?", asked Kxem to Uli.

"No, no, I'm fine", said Uli, wanted to prove he's brave, even though he was almost dead from the rancid smell of Samantha's farts.

"Are we ready to go?", asked Kxem.

"Yes, but I want to chat with you guys while we travel, so, Kxem, don't go too fast, okay? I don't feel like exploring Centralia in a few seconds. Make sure we arrive in about 20 minutes", said Samantha, happy.

"Oh, okay", said Kxem, setting a low speed.

"We talked a lot about Gaia, but how is Tree City exactly?", asked Samantha to Frefa, smiling.

"It's boring. People are very unfriendly, but not mean, everything is very expensive and we can't afford many types of entertainment. I would like to read a lot of books, but I can only afford one a year with my savings", explained Frefa.

"I had some comic books, but I didn't bring them with me, otherwise I would have given them to you", said Samantha.

"Thank you. Are Gaian comics good?", asked Frefa.

"Sure they are~", said Samantha, happy.

Suddenly, Samantha had an idea. She wanted Frefa to smell her farts to see her reaction, but she had to wait until she had one.

"I have an idea, Frefa~", said Samantha.

"What?", asked Frefa, smiling curious.

"Would you like to smell a fart of mine?~", suggested Samantha, giggling.

"Eh, I can try, but I don't think I'll like it. They smell really bad and I can't imagine how it would be up close", said Frefa, worried.

"It smells amazing, trust me~", said Samantha.

"Oh, okay", said Frefa, smiling and believing her.

"Just wait until I have one~", said Samantha, proud.

"Sure!", said Frefa, happy.

Samantha was starting to build up some gas inside of her, and she was really looking forward to release it into Frefa's nose. Samantha wondered how Frefa would react to Samantha's gas, as she hoped her next fart will be particularly smelly, but any of her farts will do. Finally, she had collected enough gas for a big fart, the time has come.

"Come into my room~", said Samantha, happy.

Frefa and Samantha were in Samantha's room. Samantha pulled down her pants, showing her underwear.

"Put your nose right on the hole~", said Samantha, trying not to laugh.

Frefa did as she was told and waited.

*ppbbffrrtt*

A dense cloud of putrid stench entered directly into Frefa's nostrils, making her gag and cry.

"PUAAAHHH!!! IT SMELLS SO BAD!!!", said Frefa, rubbing her nose into her shirt to try to get rid of the nasty smell from her nose, but it was useless, Frefa's eyes didn't stop watering.

"It was so bad, Samantha!", said Frefa, exiting the room.

Samantha was rolling on her bed dying of laughter.

"I'm sorry, Frefa!", said Samantha, laughing, while Frefa was still traumatized by that toxic stink.

"I've learned my lesson: I will avoid your farts", said Frefa, wiping her tears away with her shirt.

"We will arrive in 10 minutes!", said Kxem, travelling through the hyperspace.

"Let's chat a little bit", said Samantha, smiling.

They chatted a little bit. Today was a very intense day full of emotions, and Samantha was glad everything was going well. She hoped everything will go well in the future, too. So far, Uli was the only one who could endure Samantha's farts, but Uli didn't want to smell them anymore: they are way too stinky for him, and it's a miracle he had been able to endure them for hours. Samantha thought Uli still wanted to smell her farts again, though, therefore she wanted to be Uli's girlfriend. Samantha loved Kxem much more than Uli, but since Uli smelled Samantha's farts, she was starting to love Uli more. Samantha's life had never been more exciting than this before, and she was feeling so happy, she wasn't missing home anymore. Her past life in Gaia was nowhere as good as this one as a traveller. She was particularly interested in going to a country called Huntralia, full of dangerous animals, but then she understood she didn't want to risk her life like that. Centralia was good.

"5 minutes left!", said Kxem.

Samantha smiled.

"I wonder where we're going to", said Uli, not being able to interpret those quantum fluctuations displayed on the screen of the tool he was working on. He could only see they were going to another place in Centralia, but will it be good? Bad? Uli was fearing. What if they were approaching the border with Eproctophiliophobistan? Anywhere was possible, because they were blindly travelling through the multiship without any clue as to where they were going. They could as well be headed near the border with Tomatophobistan. They simply couldn't know where they were going, and time was drawing nearer: they were about to land to a random place at this point. Uli was ready for anything, but knowing Centralia was a relatively safe place put him at ease. At least it will be very unlikely he will get killed, he will get ostracized at most, which wasn't good, but at least with Kxem's multiship they could find another place to explore.

Samantha and Frefa were chatting. Frefa wasn't particularly angry at Samantha. True, her fart was extremely stinky and pungent, but at the same time Samantha was a lovely person and Frefa really liked being with her. The time has almost come, they have almost arrived, it was a matter of instants. Uli was the one who was particularly excited. It could have been anything, really. What was going to happen? Kxem looked at the distance and smiled, he was ready to tell the others.

"One minute left", he said, happy and proud.

Everyone cheered and were really happy.

"Maybe this one is a heaven?", said Samantha.

The screen display showed the name of the city.

Elazar

Yes, that's the name of the city.

"We have arrived. Put on your jackets, it's minus 5 degrees Celsius and snowing here! 23 degrees Fahrenheit for you, Samantha", said Kxem.

They exited the multiship and a snowy town was waiting for them. Will this place be a good one, with nice and kind people? Only exploration will tell, and that's exactly what they were about to do.

Chapter 5
